For the past few years , I have thoroughly enjoyed FS2002 and FS2004. I have done a bit of everything with them. Flown all sorts of flights in all sorts of weather conditions. Downloaded great quality freeware and payware a/c, etc. Recently I cheaply purchased the original version of IL-2 Sturmovic and am slowly getting to grips with it. The first thing I have done is to allocate the keyboard controls to the same as that used in FS2004 ( as much as possible) . But I am thinking - wouldn't it be just fantastic if the best of FS2004 could be combined with the best of IL-2. Now that I have installed the 9.1 patch (though this may becoincidental - I am setting up FS9 + patch from scatch) I now get thefollowing message at startup:"The requested flight file is corrupt or can't be found. FlightSimulator will try to load the default flight".I have tried to create a new flight and then save it, ticking the boxto save it as the default, but no matter what I try I get the sameerror message when I restart FS. I can manually replace the FLTSIM.FLT file with another .FLT file, and the new flight will load as the default, but I still get the error message first.I can't work out what flight FS9 is trying to find or load when Istart it up, or why I can't …

I know that you guys have the answer for me. I am looking for a freeware screenshot program instead of print screen. Something that saves the shots instantly on the hard drive instead of having to work each one first seperetaly like with print screen.

When doing a flightplan and you wan't is as realistic as possible, should you then always use airways? I have found out that this often mean a turnaround compared to direct GPS or even VOR to VOR.When can you use direct GPS and still have it as real as it get? When can you leave airways? How is it done in real life?

I recently purchased a Belkin Nostromo N52 "speedpad". Hello all, I am using the FeelThere CRJ200 and any user familier with this product is familier with the unusually loud avionics cooling fan heard inside the cockpit. I installed Neil Hill's Pacific Northwest Airport Upgrade. I like that it adds vehicles, people and planes to many airports in the area. Adds a bit more life to things. I noticed though that there are no textures at night for the planes. I am not sure if this is by design, or I need to enable something. I don't know how these sceneries are developerd.I would contact Neil Hill directly, but the email at the bottom of the ReadMe must not be correct because my email could not be delivered. Any ideas on how to enable the textures at night would be appreciated.Thanks,Scott

can anyone help PLEASE!!! I have downloaded every new 727 and NONE HAVE STROBES - Sum one told me that not all 727s have strobes on the wing tips . THE FAA wont certify a commercial plane etc if there are no strobes . SO where can I find em for the AWESOME 727THANKSFLYBOY737

Well, some of them anyway. All of a sudden two of my aircraft...iFDG/PSS Airbus mrege and the the SGA DC-9 with Stellen Hilmerby's fine panel...will not start manually anymore. Both will start using the control "E" key strokes, but that is the only way. I have tried resetting all defaults and have done the alternate "start running" and "cold and dark" start routines to no avail. Oddly enough all of my other aircraft will still start manually. Anyone out there experienced this and if so do you know of a solution?? Thanks in advance. By the way I'm running FS9.1 Mike

I tried using Richard Probst's panel with Erick Cantu's new 727, and for some reason it is making the rudder on the 727 jump around a whole bunch. When I am in external view the rudder is reverse from the way I am turning it. It isn't a problem with FSUIPC, because it doesn't happen with any other plane or some second rate panel that I am using now.Thanks in advance,Brian Bash :-wave

does anyone know if the default flight planner gives realistic altitudes? i know it doesn't account for terrain. for a 300 mile flight it gives me 4000' in a jet. does that sound about right? i have no reason to doubt the altitude just wondering though. thanks, william
