Downloaded and installd Thomas Kwongs awesome Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok airport, which now includes expanded scenery including ships!I had added my own ships using the RWY12 enhancer, so would like to remove Thomas's vessels. Main reason is that the wakes on the ships are all black and look a bit unrealistic. I tried changing ships.bgl to ships.bgx but that still leaves one containership and some smaller ferries etc with the same problem. Anybody know of a way to either fix the black wake problem, or how to kill of the rest of the ships?ThanksEric

Can anyone please tell me the name of the new "sky effects" package that was released not long ago. It is supposed to be a complete set of clouds and night lighting with a new helpful interface and it works with Active Sky. Thanks!David

I made a flight from Gothenburgh to Malmo in the PMDG B1900D andI was a few nm from the airport when I contacted ATC. It was IFRplan and I waited to contact ATC since it otherwise vectors me tofly zig zag during the route.After contacting ATC I was vectored to go 21 nm sout of the airport.Is this 'as real as get'? I think it's a somewhat long turnaround.

this is an open letter to all of you great people who contribute so much of your time and effort to creating add-ons for this hobby. THANKS to you all. But often the installation instructions are incomplete or just wrong. For example, one popular download has an installation readme that states:"- Extract the folder contained in the zip archive into your FS Aircraft folder. When fs2k4 starts it says it's generating the scenery files, but then at 8% it exits. There's very cryptic messages in the app log:The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. Has anyone noticed this before - it's really annoying/frustrating me?Whenever I am told by ATC that I need to Go Around, or I declare a missed approach for some reason, the ATC sends me hundreds of miles away from the airport before it vectors me back in. Last night I was heading into EGLL, declared a missed approach, and ended up over Cornwall somewhere. This tends to happen at just about every airport I go to (not just EGLL) when I end up going around for some reason.If you've only done a short flight, it can double the length of the flight!Also, I just wondered what the difference between "Declare Missed Approach" and "Declare Missed Approach - Published" is? Hi,Has anyone else noted this strange mottling of the sky? I've only recently noticed this effect and am wondering what could be causing it. Are they artifacts embedded in the sky textures or part of the sun texture? Sun Glare and lensing have been switched off for the purpose of this screen capture. What is apparent is that this mottling is only really noticeable while looking towards the sun. Maybe it has always been there and I have not being paying sufficient attention, but I rather doubt that to be the case.I've tried switching sky textures within FS Sky World and also tried the 'bonus' textures included with FSWater, but still the result is the same. When I asked for IFR clearence for a flight going south and the windcoming from 300 ATC gave me runway 19 for takeoff. But shouldn't takeoff always be with headwind? Is this an error in FS9?

Hey All,I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm asking again. I did a search but probably never came up with the right keywords. I use FS2k2 (not pro) and see lots of cool fs2k4 planes and wonder about their compatibility with fs2k2.I'm curious about this in general and specifically the Maule M-7 at FSNordic. I'd hate to down load 60 megs and find out no go!A related question. I've been wondering about all the gauges that I've been dumping into the gauges folder. Some aircraft, mostly payware, have registry entries, whereas most freeware downloads do not. Other than the tendency for payware to be more complex, why registry in one case and not another?

I have been thinking about something as I look at my growing (and aging) fleet of payware aircraft. Would it be of interest to you if payware developers offered a higher costing aircraft "package" in return for an aircraft that they develop/keep up to date as new FS versions are released?So in other words, we pay let's say $20.00 more, or something (not sure there), BUT we will enjoy the aircraft for as long as that developer is around for many many FS versions to come. The PMDG 737 comes to mind here, what a great package that is...but sad to see it go to the FS mothballed field of dreams after FS2008 or whatever. I am as dissapointed and perplexed as all of you regarding the DOD decision on NavData. Having said that it is what it is and the question is simply...what are we going to do about it ?I would propose the following path forward:1) Organize. - As a community we need to pull together an organization to resolve this problem. - The organization should involve commercial software developers, internet sites, and us simmers. Most important would be to get Microsoft and XPlane support. Quickie, do these planes work with FS9, I am having all sorts of problems, FSSound.dll, no gauges, all very frustrating cause they look really good. Bit complicated for an idiot like me though to install the blasted things, have tried the A330 so far, looks great in the window but just causes FS9 to crash with a A330.gau error message...Any help out therecheersPaul

Wow another release from Carenado. I own their C210 and I really like it.I believe we'll start seeing posts here saying it's an excellent product...however my question is: Why a 60's VFR plane? Refreshingly different? maybe. But VFR flights are kind of pointless in FS2004 unless you fly over some well developed VFR sceneries. Maybe it'll be a new baby for bush pilots flying over Washington and Alaska.So really...absulotely nothing negative toward this new product...just some pop-up thoughts.
