Anyone else here see the Just Flight stand demoing the Piper collection thing they are developing? Has a very nice Tomahawk included, expected to release end of January next year. The Tomahawk is very special to me, being the aircraft I gained my (lapsed) PPL on. Has been a notable omission from FS in my opinion. With this, UK VFR scenery and Active Sky, I might as well be back in the 1980's and doing it for real!Cheers,Gareth Evans

Has anyone given this a try?I was wondering the quality of this model. It is only $16 and thought it might be a fun one to fly, with the giant counter-rotating pusher props it definitely is a unique bird.

For the past several weeks, I have found that after I quit FS2004, there is an instance of FS9.exe still running. I need to manually kill this process with the Windows XP Task Manager. I also find that if I try to quit ServeInfo before killing the FS9.exe process, that ServeInfo will hang. I also cannot shut down Windows without first killing the FS.exe process (or XP tries to do so upon receiving a shutdown request). I am running Windows XP Home SP1, on a P4 3.4 GHz Dell 8300 system. 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 XT, running dual CRT displays. DirectX 9.0B. DXDIAG reveals no problems found in any category. Hi guys,anyone care to tell me where he has his hardware lights set to and what exatly happens with this setting?I used to have them at something like 4 with my Radeon 9800XT. I remember I had them up higher once but didn't really notice a difference and tuned them back as I thought a medium setting might help performance.Now that I have my 6800GT I dared to try some higher settings. I have them set to max now and this is quite a show especially at dawn and in a TS. I suddenly see colours in the sim I had never seen before. A lot of gold and reddish stuff especially in low visibility. The whole scenery as well as the aircraft seem to have a lot more depth. But still the e…

I've had something weird happen to my FS2004 install. I cleaned a bunch of old files out of my My DocumentsFlight Simulator Files folder recently, and now whenever I hit "Select a Flight," FS2004 locks. The CPU usage pegs at 100% and it hangs, I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up Task Manager and kill it. I can do the usual "Create a Flight" just fine, and it flies without difficulty, but even if I save a flight and then try to use "Select a Flight" to pick it from the menu, FS2004 goes splat. I haven't messed with my FS2004 Flights folder at all. I have a few .FLT and .WX files in the folder, along with a bunch of .PLN flightplan files and that's it. Any ideas? I guess I d…

Hi,I finally caved in and upgraded to FS9 (FS9.1 to be exact) from FS2002. My delay was because of PIC767, but I didn't want to wait any longer and purchased the PMDG 737NG 600/700 (CD Version). I also installed my Piper Meridian with the FS9 update.For the most part, eveything went well. No major complications on the installs and I spent most of yesterday doing some tweaking as well as learning the ins and outs of the 737. Every so often someone comes up with an idea in FS which is so simple, but so effective, that it just brings a big grin to my face.It could be that the aircraft design fraternity know all about this one, but to me as a novice it was pure magic. You know the problem: the aircraft sits with its wheels half buried in the tarmac, yet fixing the contact points is not easy because they are invisible. I want to make the default Cessna 180 more manoeuverable - can this be done by pasting the Extra 300's .cfg data into the Cessna's .cfg file? Has anybody ever used a Game Pad for FS 2004? I tried one once and the right joystick as the throttle didn't work very well because it is configured for center off which is the mid throttle.I would like to use it with my laptop. Or maybe suggest a small regular USB joystick with the twist motion for rudder?Any ideas?Barry

Just downloaded the Eclipse. GREAT plane. A freebee that I wouldn't object if I paid for.Instructions include "Read the operating manual", but it's not there. There's installation, checklists, etc., but no manual. recently fs2k2 has had a repeating low pitch rumble '...ruMMmpp...ruMMpp." when paused, but i never noticed when fs was active. today it's all the time, paused or active. i removed the sound folder from fs that 's not it, i searched some files for a sound alike, but , wow there's a lot of wavs. does anyone know what sound fs could be "calling up" at the "select flight" screen? thanks, tt

I already have mapped my keyboard for the Tail hook and wings fold commands, but they do not open the door. And ctrl+e+1 opens the passenger door and ctrl+e+2 opens the luggage compartment in the lower deck.Please advise!Thanks.

I'm quite familiar with IFR flight from FS98 (!!old, eh), but am having problems with the auto-pilot in a newly installed FS2004. For instance in the King Air... I can almost never get the altitude hold to work, either when selecting an altitude to climb or descend to or to just hold. And when it does work, 90% of the time the auto pilot also decides all by itself to hold the heading I'm on. I can't change heading... really a bummer, as you can imagine.. Also, when in approach mode, the auto-pilot often has a real problems tracking the localizer..big swings in heading and altitude..Any suggstions would be really appreciated,Thanks, Bill

I have read where several people have downloaded a patch for FS2004. If you bought FS2004 off the shelf today, would it have all the updates in it, or would you still have to download the updates. Thanks.Andy

Hi,I am having a problem with the kneeboard in that when I try to grab the scroll bar and move it, FS9.1 crashes. I get a similar issue when I have tooltips on and I pass the mouse over a gauge; when it tries to display the tool tip, FS crashes. The kneeboard problem is consistent, it crashes every time. The tool tip problem doesn't happen all the time, but it happens often enough that I have had to turn tool tips off, which can be a pain when I fly in an unfamiliar aircraft.I am using a Dell D800 laptop with NV 4200 go graphics, BIOS 4.28.20.31.0, driver 4487, 1 GB mem. Hi!Today I for the first time encountered a new problem that I've got no idea to solve: Black screens then and then are familiar to me, but today i got a message (without blackscreen) " Visual C++ Runtime Library.. abnormal termination of fs9.exe.."which popped twice in my fs screen and after twice clicking the only option "OK", shut down my flight..I have not installed anything new after my succesfull flights (i.e yesterday) and now I was having this in two succeeding flights. Pilot voices have disappeared in fs9. No options are available in ATC options. I can't find them on the discs. Can anyone help? Silence is NOT golden. rnails
