Hi there, although this appears to be a stupid question I am in need of some help and am sure that one of you should be able to help me. For 2 weeks I get this annoying "blowing wind" sound in the tower and spot views. I have tried to switch off several sounds in the sound options menu but it didn't do the trick. I have also played around with dx sound settings, neither worked this. I attach a zip file with the sound so that you know what I mean. Thanks in advance.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/99627.zip

I'm having a problem saving flights that I create. I have created several flights with the flight planner. BUT, when I later go to the 'select a flight' page, and click on "my saved flights', nothing shows up. The only way I can open a previously created and saved flight seems to be to create another flight in the flight planner, save it, but then LOAD a different flight in the list in the saved flights pop-up box. Am I explaining that clearly? I CAN go to the saved flights in 'my documents' to open a flight I want, but must close FS first. ALSO, when I DO open a saved flight, it always opens with the Cessna rather than the plane I used in the flight. Any suggestions?T…

Hi,I came up with the follwing idea. I'd like an oxygen gauge in my cockpit that starts to empty a tank at lets say 10000ft. So you would have to consider the flow and finally would be forced to go lower on long flights e.g..Has someone stumbled accross something like that in any panel, freware or payware? I remember I had an oxygene gauge in one of FSD's panels, but as far as I can remember it did nothing.Alex

Hallo everyone :)We all tweak our FS9s by adding planes, scenery, cool engine sounds etc. I dont know about you all but in the back of my mind theres always that grain of fear that one day Windows might crash & you could lose everythinghttp://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...es/icon_eek.gifI have a question about System Restore in Win XP: It restores *everything*? So if you added loads of goodies to FS9 and your computer crashes and you had to use System Restore - will your FS9 will be back with all add-ons intact too?I have backups of all important FS9 files on CD but Im just not sure how Sys Restore functions and thought Id check with you all :)

What is difference between their Flight Line and Jet Line products? I am looking to purchase some good gauges that can replace majority of the AC I fly, usually GA and small business jets.

So, I'm not one to nitpick, but I'm also not one to deny the obvious :-). For some reason, everytime I take off smoke leaves my wheels as soon as they leave the ground. I'm sure it's not a tail strike and I am not bouncing from rotating to early. Another thing that I noticed is that whenever I open the plane, I have to re-enter all of my payload. Again, these aren't serious issues, and I am in no way denying that it is a fantastic model, which it is...I guess I am just spoiled by PMDG :-)On another note, I just tried to install Shehryar's Palm Springs scenery as instructed (make it a layer below the LA photograph and whatnot) and it just places it on top of the default PS…

Friends :)The freeware Dash 7 continues to delight, and I fly it everyday. However, I did notice something when I began a descent & wanted to put this past all of you. I had forgotten I had already selected idle-power by pressing F1 and was absent-mindedly jabbing the F2 key to reduce power and then suddenly all four turboprops went into full reverse. You can use reverse-pitch in flight in the real Dash 7?I do seem to recall there was/is a 4-engine plane that can select reverse thrust in flight on the inboard engines, not sure about the Dash 7 though.Any thoughts? - I gotta say though: makes for great aerobraking when youre approaching those mountain airfields! http://…

What key assignments are used on the stock ch yoke to produce the panning motion when viewing outside the aircraft? I tried to reproduce this on a ch f16 fighter stick with different key assignments and can't seem to get the fluid panning motion the yoke has, it just snaps to each view with out panning over to the next view. Hi,I have this pc configuration:- Motherboard Abit NF7- Cpu Amd Barton 2500+@3200+- Graphic Card Sapphire Radeon 9600xt 128 mb- Ram 512- Drivers: ATI Catalyst 4.11, Nvidia Nforce2 5.10 complete pack, DirectX 9.0c- OS: XP Professional (SP2)I run Fs9.1 in 1280x1024 32bit mode (85 Hz monitor refresh, V-Sync off), antialiasing 4x via driver (no AA of Fs9.1, is disactivate), trilinear AF via application controlled selected in Fs9.1.When I set virtual cockpit view and I rotate the view with active camera 2004, I see a "vibration" of gauges. Why this? Is normal? If I don't rotate the view, I don't see this vibration.I have also the mipmap texture level in hardware section of fs2…

Even though I've had some tough times with PSS, it's sad to hear when bad things happen to the most giving people among us. It's sad to hear about the health problems Greg has to deal with and it's only appropriate to send out a word of thanks. Greg, thanks for all the wonderful work you've done over the years and the contributions you've made to our hobby. I know I speak for others in saying that the efforts you've given are priceless. I hope as I know others do as well that you beat this affliction that's come over you. Keep your head up and know you have a whole world of people in your corner during these most difficult of times...Take Care....

Is there a way to delete a wx reporting station out of fs 9? I fly mainly out of KEGT, the closest reporting station is KIAB, no matter what the weather is in the area KIAB never has a visibility reported over 7 sm. The surrounding stations such as KICT, KWLD and KPNC report more realistic visibilities, so when flying in and out of KEGT it is like coming in and out of Lower Uncton..........(please excuse the Married With Children reference;-}Thanks,Ice

I have a couple of planes that I would like ATC to call out:"U.S. Air" and "American".Could someone please give me the step-by-step as to what you need to place in the aircraft.cfg to achieve this? I only get the I.D. ie: "xrt124, contact ground", blah, blah... and not "American" or "U.S. Air"Thank you in advance!Mitch R.

I have noticed a few, ok, alot to be honest, alot of aircraft, such as lears and boeings, etc etc, that have landing lights that flash. The lights are nice, and look good in my opinion. They simply just flash with turned on. Left flashes then dims out as the Right comes on, then the same with the left.Is their a way that this can be simulated in FS? I think it would be great if it could. :)

Greetings, I have been getting an odd wind noise while using FS2004 - I currently use Active Sky 2004 and FS Sky World 2004. Even when I start at the gate with engines off I still get this wind noise. Also while in flight, I have noticed the aircraft bouncing around could this be from turbulence? Skys are clear, no clouds, etc . Any help would be great! Thanks
