Somewhere along the way I picked up a really ugly little red moon that looks more like mars on a collision course. It is the silliest thing I've seen in MSFS in a long time. Any idea where it might have come from - or better yet how to replace it with a good moon? ThanksDavid

I keep getting a hang on trying to save any selected environment choices. It happens when trying to save any desired changes and the message says "Copying Wave height files to flight simulator. This process will take a few minutes, please stand by." Well the status bar gets to 24% complete and stops. It never does save the situation. I uninstalled and re-installed the program to no avail. I did have FS Water before, and could not find any uninstall program for it. Does anyone have any advice? What I have seen of the program so far looks great - I just want to explore its options!Thanks Bill Gustafson

This is my first payware aircraft and I was so impressed that I felt compelled to do a short review as I feel that some folks might miss a good plane if they do not hear about it. When you approach the plane from the FBO you will notice the attention to details. There are the brake calipers, lines, antenna, lug nuts, rivets, handles, tinted windscreen, clear windows, slightly dirty paint, etc. All done very well and lifelike. Hi all,Does anyone know if there is a gauge that displays landing distance? I took a look into the SDK and it should be possible to do, but my work just doesn't allow for too many side projects. My other idea would be a "cranky instructor" gauge or add on. If you fly outside the airplane parameters you get a snippy comment and if you land hard you get a good telling off.Happy landings, real and not so real.

Can anybody advise any "representative flight plans for the KBT P-3?In particular any between USN bases, or other areas where the P3 might typically operate, including any operational patrols?ThanksEric

Deleting just the Microsoft Games folder will not completely uninstall the game. As per best programming/user interface practices on Windows operating systems, configuration data is stored in your user profile folder under the Application Data folder, which by default is hidden. You will need to remove any Flight Sim folder(s) in there.When you reinstalled, the installer did not overwrite the configuration data in this folder. So when you started Flight Sim again, you had the same configuration.

Is there any good replacement lightning in FS2004, something that looks ferocious and deadly--and realistic ?JS

I am currently ER to WMKK at FL390, M.86, and just overflew Hong Kong heading 214 mag. When I went into spot view about 40nm before hitting the HK metro area, and panned around the a/c, there were large chunks of land below and around me that were missing from the default scenery. In their place were some huge geometric shapes colored whitish-grey, tending white. In addition, there were momentary flashes of ground texture slicing through my aircraft, vertically on the video monitor, such as I've never seen before. I want to make a small pic I have from king Air 350 plane appear at the end of each post or comment I make here at Avsim. I thought it would be taken care of under user options in trhe signature profile/preference areas. But it was not. I even tried to cut and paste the pic to make it appear at the end of each entry I make. I looked around for some help topics and did not see any. I am sure they exsist. In the intrest of saving time by not having read several pages to find out how this is done is there a couple of steps that would allow me to accomplish this. I see them all the time here. When climbing to your cruising altitude, ATC will set you up so you climb a little amount then a little more until you finally reach the cruising altitude. Is there a way to get rid of this or change the callout to climb higher from 200 feet to maybe 1000 feet?Thanks

OK, so another post about stuttering.Stuttering is most obvious when flying fast aircraft... not really dependat on scenery.I noticed that my stuttering has nothing to do with HDD reading/loading textures. When stuttering occurs, HDD leds are off.So, with my high end system, what could be cause to this? I guess somewhere the textures are not passing quickly enough, but I don't know where...Any ideas you could have would be appreciated and most certainly helpful!Btw...TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=600Tried 0, 40, 80, 90, 120, 400... didn't change really.

I'm trying to change the panel in a Dash8 to make it easier to see some of the units.Can't find a quickie 'how to' or tutorial and I don't want to screw up my panel cfg.Any help appreciated.JimVT

Is there anyway to move the default directory "Flight Simulator Files" out of My Documents? I read somewhere on here that you just cut and paste the folder somewhere else, but all that does is re-creates the folder back in My Documents.Any ideas?

Folks,There was a lot of discussions about the landing lights' intensity in many posts before.I would like to touch on a bit different approach to the problem (pun intended)When you sit at the airport you can see the line of lights representing planes on the approach.What I'm saying is that the intensity of landing lights in real life is so significant, that you can see them way before you see the aircraft itself.It is just the opposite in the FS. You can barely see the landing lights even standing 30 feet from the aircraft nose.Just wondering if anybody have ever been dealing with this problem before.ThanksDom

Hi all,I was doing a long haul flight behind an AI aircraft on the same route-The Ai a/c kept veering off course and had to keep correcting itself. I did a couple of other flights and the same problem persisted. I traced the problem down to the real world weather setting(with winds aloft). For some reason the Ai aircraft are not able to deal with winds at cruising altitudes. Is there a fix for this?. Part of the fun on long haul flights is watching AI a/c and seeing them weaving around is somewhat irritating.RegardsBharath Narayan

Might there be any beta testers or developers of EZ Scenery out there who can tell us how the product is progressing? It looks great, if it will do what Abacus claims it will. I've been using Lago's FSE and it does a fine job, but you have to own the program in order to use the scenery. Abacus claims that scenery created with EZ Scenery can be used by anyone. I know have several USA Megascnery titles. I wonder will it worktogether with FSGenesis and FScene. My intent is that when I leave a Megascenere area I should still have improved scenery from FSGenesis and FScene textures. Will it work that way without problems. I think I have read here that FScene for USA has problems but I'm not sure.Also the same question could asked regarding Misty Fjords.

I went to install the piper meridian the installer stopped and a window popup came up and said( gps_export.dll missing or damaged please reinstall fs2004 to restore or repair file)ok fs2004 worked just fine before trying to install the piper so what's the deal? Is this a stock fs2004 file or did the piper try to install this.If this is a stock file how and where do I find it? Dave

As a longtime FS'er I'd like to get this clarified once and for all :-)Where there is a landclass scenery file included with an addon scenery what is the correct meaning of "priority", bearing in mind that the FS Scenery Library is listed the opposite way around to the Layer No.s in the scenery.cfg file. I understand that with this add-on, you can not only save your flight, but apparently also your FMC and MCP settings. Is this correct? If so, it seems amazing. Appreciate posts, thanks!JS

I have released a small update to FS9 Configurator. The following changes were made:1) If the MSFS path in the registry is not found, the program will now allow you to browse for the path and store this in the registry. Previous behavior was to disable functionaility if the registry entry was not found.2) Fixed bug in Set Contrails where the word "temperature" was misspelled when written to the aircraft.cfg file.I will be uploading to AVSim later today. What's up with that? The first link on the front page of Avsim goes to a Flight 1 page which says "Product can't be located". The second link takes you to Flight 1 where you can click on the Spring/Summer schedule, but if you click on "Installation Notes" I get the ol' "Page can't be displayed".I would have thought after the last schedule fiasco, this one might work better.I'm not bashing Flight 1, I have several of their products, including Ultimate Traffic and they're all great, but I think I'll wait a few days for this one to shake out before turning loose my credit card.Jim

Has anyone tried the new 777 fde in the library yet? I downloaded it and installed it, but I am having some trouble flying the plane. It seems way to heavy and my engines are red-lining trying to speed up to 300kts and changing to mach speed .74 to .78 and so forth. Can anyone give me some advice or should I re-download and install it? Perhaps I got a corrupted file or something. In the fuel and payload settings it has ** warning your plane is over 50,000 ibs gross weight which I find this hard to believe because I thought these fde's are correct in flying this jet. Any info would be appreciated.Thank You,Kurt.
