I've been meaning to upgrade the default MSFS mesh for some time for Switzerland, where I prefer to do most of my non-US MSFS flights. I am curious if anyone can suggest some good freeware mesh for Switzerland. I've run across some a few years back, but I recall it created a "terrace" effect in the scenery. I would imagine it's evolved a bit by now. I'm most interested in mesh which recreates some of the more significant mountain landmarks, such as the Matterhorn, Jungfrau, and T

Was in NYC for a business meeting today and flew home to Atlanta this afternoon from KLGA. Im sitting in my window seat and look out the window and there sits on the tarmac, the Howard 500 that Milton Shupe modelled so well!!! The green and Gold duck livery with the checkerboard radial cowlings. Awesome. A very cool surprise!Eric

Well, after the recent (and ongoing) snap poll the RealAir SF260 wins the FS Oscar for most popular FS plane. No real surprises there, I suppose. Somebody made the point that the timing of the poll - just after the release of the update - may have influenced voting. Maybe, maybe not..Award for best supporting plane goes to the PMDG 737.In equal third place are the Flight1 C172 and the MAAM R4D-6 (more of a surprise maybe)Honourable mentions go to the LDS 767, F1 ATR, Aeroworx King Air, DF 727 and FSD Cheyenne 400 (the only other aircraft to get multiple votes)At the last count, 39 different aircraft (including one balloon) were entered.Just shows what a wonderfully varied…

I've got some questions about AI in FS2002, and I'm hoping everone else will have answers.Firstly, how do I get repaints (either made or downloaded) to apply to default AI traffic. I have an American Airlines repaint for the default 747, which I can fly, but it won't show on any AI flights. The other question, how do I add other plane types as AI, and position them on tarmacs, etc. I'd like to add an F-16 fighter wing to my local Air National Guard base (KFAT) but I have no clue what programs I need to go do that. Reccomendations appreciated.Thanks.

Hello,I recently purchased UT and installed it. After compiling all flight plans for AI using UT, I noticed that quite a few airlines aren't showing up - American, for example. Did I do something wrong? I flew to MIA and there were no AA aircraft. I would've posted on UT's forum, but it's down at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,George

On the Ariane web site I tried to view VC screenshots for the NG. I couldn't find any screenshots. Does anyone have Ariane VC a/c that can post some for me please?I want a beaut a/c with awesome VC cockpit. Is Ariane good? And the 747 for PMDG has a VC, is that going to be good?Is there a 777 VC out there, and is it any good? One last question, does the computer slow down FPS if you are using a VC, especially on Final Approach?Danielwww.danielmcaloon.tk

If you were allowed to fly only ONE aircraft - default, freeware or payware - for the rest of your natural born FS days, which one would it be. You get to keep as much scenery as you want, but only one set of wings (or rotors, if you're that way inclined). I'm hoping enough people will respond so that we can reveal the TOP FS PLANE of all time. Think about it - this has got to last you. You may decide you want to pick the LDS 767, but is that the best aircraft for checking out new scenery?? Maybe you prefer low and slow, but are you sure you'll never want to cross an ocean again?? Do you want to stick with a faithful old friend, or run off with something new and exciting?…

When you are online and ATC changes your FS9 flight plan it can be difficult to find the navaids in flight planner.remember FS98 had a search feature it was slow but worked eventually. What happened to it!!With freeware glass cockpit and vector gauges linked to it I am sure there are others feeling the same. I use SFP plans that can convert to FS9 but it is slow .Any ideas

I was looking for a good add on aircraft for Jet service into short fields in the Rocky Mountains. I saw the re-paint of the above mentioned aircraft but was wanting to know if anyone could recommend a add on off this or another BAe model that performs well. I think this plane flys regular service into KASE. Also, I am having trouble finding the home web page for the mfg of the BAe plane. The reason for wanting this was to be able to look at the performance specs of the real world aircraft. I was able to get the real world specs for the Dash 8 aircraft this way. While on the subject of short field Jets or fast T-props, (For the KORD-KASE seasonal route ((Chicago, I t…

This might yet be a stupid question, but other than being hard-modelled into the model, is there a way to put a "co-pilot" into the VC cabin? It tends to get veeeeeeery lonely up there in the air... Like I saw Eaglesoft putting in the virtual cabins some women passenger, so I'd like to have a co-pilot in the VC, preferrably female :-lol

I recently downloaded a Posky 757-200 and 767-300 of First Choice Airways. When i came to installing them on FS, it completely shut down, with both aircraft. All other aircraft are ok, anybody got any ideas. I have an idea it may be the texture version ( DXT3 ). But i would like another opinion.Cheers

That not even the *almost* fastest computer today (for example mine) still can't run full quality clouds in a say LDS VC with decent fps - for me that's around 35-40 fps???I mean, what's the deal? I can't believe that pricely equivalent Athlon for instance runs this with high AA and AF settings...I'm asking cuz I bought Flight Environment yesterday, and clouds look awesome, but getting 15-20 fps in LDS VC while climbing through the thick multi-layered clouds cover is just a disgrace...

HiI was wandering if anyone has had this happen and how to fix it.Any AC I fly with autopilot engaged appears to switch itself off every few minutes. I also lose instrument responses (eg flaps guages, gear guages, settings in the autopilot go blank etc).I was curious if there was something that could be fixed since reloading the AC in mid air is becoming pretty tedious.ThanksDominic

Just wondering if ATC is aware of restricted airspace. On a flight today and others I've been directed through. Is there any way to have ATC recognize restricted airspace and have you vectored around it? I know that one can request an approach in certain cases to avoid this airspace. Thanks, Adam

Hi FolksIn case you missed the announcement, www.dodosim.com is up and running. What is it? Well its a complete engine management system for the Bell 206 in MSfs2004.I will quote one of our users, as he describes better than I ever could: " This is the first addon I have ever purchased that really makes FS9 into a totally new simulator! It has always been that there were flight sims (fixed wing) and helicopter sims but nothing that could emulate both. Until now the default Bell seemed more an afterthought, along the lines of the old WWI dogfight game that was part of early FS versions. It is incredible what you have done here! My only criticism is that your promotional pi…

As previous posts have stated it never fails that when you are on final the wife (or your significant other) always needs something. This something is usually able to be answered in a sentence or two. So instead of having them yell at you from the other side of the house, and you have to get up to see what is needed (because you know if you yell back you will not get a response), I have found the solution.I was at Walmart the other day with my wife and I saw some two way radios. Being the proactive flight simmer I am, I thought this would be a great way to stop the interuptions while on final. My wife even thought it was a great idea (bonus!). These radios are great!…

I've flown by the actual airport (8B1 - Hawthorne-Feather, NH) tons of times. Never have stopped there, but anyway, here I am crusing around in FS and I happened to be near it, so I landed there. Well, first thing I noticed was that it was one of those bathtub airports. So I thought I'd do a quick fix to it. At the same time, I started to find out more about the real airport, thinking I might check it out someday.Well, one thing leads to another, I did find some interesting info on it (an aviation college used to be associated with it (Nathaniel Hawthorne, closed in '89)) I'm going to keep learning about it. Also, I found out the airport location is way off in FS. …
