Hello all, I just recently jumped into the Bell that comes with FS9. After flying AC for so long I was curious. Now I'm hooked on this too!! (My wife will not see me out of my studio for another 6 months!) I am looking for an excellent freeware or payware version, but since Helis are new to me, I don't know what is considered top quality. I know that Shift-# opens up different windows in panels but what is the the Windows are numbered past #9 ? How do I access these windows since I cant press Shift-10 or Shift 11 ? Any real LJ45 pilot out there could give me hand? I'd like to calculate real Vspeeds every flight instead of using FS' default and fixed values.Thing is I've searched the internet and could not find a Vspeed sheet or table to accomplish that.Thanx

Hi,I don't post much here or there but read multiple times daily. In the past couple years the addons continue to get better and better (which I own just about everyone there is...I'm an addon fanatic) which is good, but the downside is production time tends to stretch for months sometimes years.For example the Aeroworx B200 took probably 6-9 months (maybe more) to make it to market and now almost a year just for patch (in fairness an upgrade).I think all this comes down to consumers (us) wanting more and more advances and closer to reality which causes to production time to increase.My question is do you think eventually the cycle for one addon could take the entire cyc…

I wonder how many of you prefer automatics and glass cockpits over traditional hand flying and radio navigation on 'steam gauges'.Maybe some of you are so kind to answer these questions:1. If your SimFlyer airports are showing terrain bleedthrough or possibly other problems, try editing the Terrain section of your fs9.cfg file as follows:Edit "TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=19" to "TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21"This cleared up multiple locations for me. Forgot to do this after rebuilding my fs9.cfg file and had all kinds of bleedthrough.Unfortunately, this did nothing for EDDF or CYYZ. If anybody knows a solution for these it would be greatly appreciated. Terrain follows the aircraft movement down the runways errasing the hard surface.Everything else looks fine (i.e. aprons, taxiways, terminals etc.)Happy flying:RTH

Is there any way to use these sounds with the Posky CRJ? I've tried just copying the sound folder, but that doesn't work for all of the sounds. The wind noises are missing for the flaps, gear, and spoilers. I love the Wilco CRJ, but my lowly P4 1.6 just won't run it unless I'm willing to fly with 8 FPS. The Posky gives me 16-25 FPS, but the sounds are lame.CH

For me, the whole purpose in having clouds available in FS is so I can fly through, around, and over them. IE to enjoy them. But I just can't seem to do that. Clouds bring my system to its knees. I can cruise along at 40+ fps even with clouds, but if I get close to them, it's down to 18fps! It really annoys me that I can't enjoy flying through the weather. I see that there is an Electronics Expo in L.A. May 18, 19, 20. NVidia just sent me an e-mail about their presence there and there upcoming "gaming involvement". Would there be any hints of FS10 or whatever there? Is this an event where Microsoft might preview something other than XBox 360?Everything's quiet.....wonder what to think!

Yep, probably the dumbest question out here right now, but I can't find my Fs9.cfg to modify it. I have done searches using the fs9.cfg,fs9.config - nada! I just got FSUIPC and would like to find these files so I can straighten out my CH Throttle Quandrant. Seems like I don't spend time flying, just huntin' and modifying settings:-(

1. When I load up the plane I get a messege that say something to the effect that I need a registered FSUIPC, what will not work correctly without a registered FSUIPC?2. What is the top cruise speed of a P-3C Orion?3. What is the landing speed of a P-3C Orion?Thanks for your help :-)

Anyone have some ideas for this? I recently reinstalled Windows XP Pro and FS9. After using Jim's optimization guide, FS is nice and smooth in the air. But on the ground, it's like watching a very slow slide show. No matter what plane (stock or addon) I use, it's not smooth when taxiing, on the runway, etc.. it's very very jerky.I have a Athlon XP 2400+ overclocked to 2.1ghz and the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro vc using the 5.1 cat drivers.Just wondering why it would do this or what can I change?thanksAlanKCOS TRACON (the real thing)

Now that improved coastlines,lakes, rivers, roads etc are available for large areas, does anybody else find that a session on FS9 can consist entirely of aimless wandering looking at scenery without actually wanting to fly to anywhere in particular! At times I find admiring the landscapes more interesting than the actual flying!:-lol

hello folks out there im wondering on the in house flight planner can you pick the route that you want to go , what i mean is after i generate a flight plan through FSNAV i then want to put the same plan into fs9 flight planner , is there a easier way to to do this.i know i do not have to use the flight planner but there is a reason for this.i use radar contact and i wont fly without it, but there are times that it will go on the blink and stop working, and i have been on a long flight, and as a back up i want to put in the same flight plan in fs9 that i have in fsnav, and most times in my virtual airline they will assign me a flight plan to load into my ATR , or PMDG 737…

1. A few weeks ago, I mentioned the great work that Don Fiveash is doing at Santa Monica (KSMO). Since then other areas have started staffing class-D airports for GA use on VATSIM. In Virginia, Roanoke Municipal (KROA) is now being staffed, though on what basis I don't know. Oakland center has now committed to making Tuesday nights "GA Night," so now there's staffing for maybe half a dozen airports in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am at work and will post a quick note here... There is a worm on the loose that purports to be from [email protected]. The content of the email message sent has a zip file. The email reads:"To safeguard your email account from possible termination, please see the attached file."DO NOT OPEN THE ZIP FILE ATTACHED.[/b}Most people will understand this is NOT sent from AVSIM but from the PC of someone who is not running a virus/worm checker. But, we invariably get email from folks accusing us of sending virus out. Please pass the word.
