Just want to give a shout out to all those involved in putting the Christen Eagle together. It is an absolutly amazing aircraft to fly. Might I add a ton of fun. Next to the Real Air aircraft, I have never been able to do a hammer head turn so seamlessly before. :D It is the perfect aircraft to fly an outside loop at airshow center then do a hammer head turn at one end of the box, to return to airshow center for the knife edge pass! (The box being the airspace aerobatic competitions are held in.) Here's the deal. I have some of Megascenery titles and my FPS are much better when I use them. I have recently begun to fly online quite a bit and when I fly in Denver, L.A., San Francisco and New York I have really good FPS via Mega Scenery. However, I was flying into O'Hare and my FSP was terrible with all the autogen and such. So now I need some help. I fly a lot in Phoenix, Albuquerque, and well, of course the sky is the limit. So, please let me know of some great scenery (hopefully freeware, or some great payware)that helps FPS and adds some great realism. Anywhere is fine. Thanks for any help!!!

I downloaded the Cirrus and fired up FS9. Right after the chimes finish, the sim gives me the error message that it must close. No other plane does it. I checked the forums here and at the author's web site. I couldn't find any reference to this problem. I don't usually have problems that are unreported. Hi Guys/GirlsI have asked this question a few years ago, but lost track of it, so seeing that technology improves all the time I would like to know the following:Is it at all possible to create a runway texture for all default runways ( similar to the Airport environment replacement set of textures ) that has the touchdown skidmarks concentrated on either end of the runways as they are in real life on most runways.The default runways ( And AE textures ) have a dark area running all the way along the runway and does not seem realistic. I know some runways do have a dark area all the way but most have a concentrated area of very DARK skidmarks where the planes touch down.I …

I received my CD of the Just Flight "Flying Club" yesterday. Also downloaded and installed the 152 "yoke" and VFR Terrain fixes from their website. Nice to see a payware company reacting so quickly to early issues.The only problem I am encountering is with the 152 pitch trim with flaps on approach.I occasionally fly a 152 in real life and am already familiar with the pitch up as you select flap on approach. Unfortunately it appears the Just Flight 152 goes totally O.T.T. First stage of flap produces a massive balloon requiring rapid nose-down trim to prevent the aircraft stalling. A couple of weeks ago I posted some concerns here I had regarding some restrictions placed on the use and sharing of Reality XP avionics in Eaglesoft aircraft by one of the developers. The two parties have come to an agreement that allows refit files to be posted, even on Reality XP's website, as long as a small and very reasonable disclaimer is included.I want to thank all the parties involved and let everyone know of this positive development.Thanks again for working it out. I reinstalled FS yesterday, to find that ALL my textures were screwed up. the terrain textures have been replaced by this bright blue texture that has purple streaks in it. Pic enclosed.Please help me. FYI I am using a Nvidia GeForce 5700VE with 6.14.10.6993 drivers.

I have had UT Alaska Canada for quite awhile and like it alot. When I fly out of the Misty Fjords scenery, sometimes it is hard to tell were Misty Fjords ends and UT begins. I have held off on getting the USA version, because I have a few scenery add-ons like the FS Freeflow Flordia scenery , and I was afraid I might get some conflicts. Well yesterday I decided to bite the bullet, and get the FS Genesis 38 mesh for the entire US and the Ultimate Terrain US along with a couple of patches for UT. When an airplane takes off and I use the tower view, after the airplane is about 2nm from the airport the tower view takes off in the air and starts following the airplane. Anyway to increase that distance or at least keep the tower on the ground?

Does anyone know how to get support for the Gatekeeper application? I've tried the email in the application help window ([email protected]) but it just bounces. For future ref. I was gutted after spending 3 days installing FS only to get this problem. I see their are others that have also had the problem.Symptom : FS splash screen then sim quits.Talk about not seeing the wood for the trees ! I spent about 3 hours trying to fix this.Answer : Just go to an old System Restore point ! Fixed !Make sure you create regular restore points throught the install so if it all goes wrong.... No problem !

Is there anywhere out there where I can get information (preferably in words of one syllable)on what exactly an 'Air' file is and how it relates to the Aircraft.cfg file. I am having problems with new paint jobs for standard and third-party downloaded aircraft. Some texture.xxx files comprise only an 'L' and a 'T' file and others have dozens of different bitmaps, etc. When I ry to add certain new textures I either end up with a 'clean' aircraft or one with the livery wrapped round it the wrong way. I am sure it is something to do with the Air or Cfg files but I am at a loss as to what to with them.Also, why can't I open many texture files for editing in a graphics editor …

Hi,I'm unable to program the Chelton MFD functions, eg, altitude, in the Commander. Clicking on the knobs produces no changes. It seems that on landing I am hearing a strange sound besides the ground roll and reversers. I am using a Sound Blaster Audigy with the most current drivers. The sound I am hearing is almost like a cross between nails on a chalk board and a screeching-wooshing sound. I know strange, eh? If I press the Q key and turn off all sounds then press the Q key again turning the sounds back on it goes away. This only happens on landing. Otherwise, the sound is perfectly normal everywhere else in FS9.I will give a side note, that I recently reinstalled FS9. And for some reason, I had to reinstall my drivers to the sound card sometime afterthe reinstall of FS9. It seems that m…

I've been using the freeware FS SkyWorld 2004 for some time and have enjoyed it. I'm hearing great reviews now about Flight Environment. Can anyone who has used both let me know how the two differentiate? I wouldn't want to spend money for payware if the freeware is nearly as good. Thanks for any replies.

I am flying my first long haul flight ( Go me :D) but am wondering what is up with my water textures. Right below me and around me the water is a dark blue. But then as you look farther away it turns to light blue, its very noticible, as in the textures are squares.Any Ideas?Thanks

I just installed FS2002 and there is this weird scenery flicker. Whenever you pan around the plane in spot plane view the building momentairly appear and disappear making the scenery flicker. Some textures on the buildings flicker too. This only happens when you are paning around or flying. When you are paused and not changing the view it's fine.I have Geforce 4 MX4000 with DirectX 9.0c and 66.93 drivers. As far as I know my video card is functioning properly. I remember reading about some patch for Gerforce 4 MX cards but I may be mistaken. What do you think the problem is?

When I'm on an ILS approach I set the Autopilot to APR and watch my plane decend automatically towards the runway. While this is happening I manually reduce power and put the gear down ready for landing, etc.My problem is that when I'm close and ready to go to idle and flare the aircraft, I turn off Autopilot and my plane goes out of control with the nose rising dramatically. Its not stalling and my speed appears to be okay for landing!?!?What am I doing wrong? Or should I keep Autopilot on until I land? Please help!!

I recently reformatted my HD. When reinstalling FS2004, It siad that the file Sydney.CAB couldnt not be copied or it was in use or something like that. Is there a way I can contact Microsoft to ask them to send me another copy Free of charge? This copy of FS I have came in the metal box. I just need another copy ASAP, and I can't blow 500 Hong Kong Dollars on another copy. As a reviewer for AVSIM I'm running on a very tight schedule so any help will be appreciated.Thanks,Tim Brown

What an interesting week. We've all witnessed the largest release ever of an FS addon, which, btw, is as good as the hype surrounding it. Nobody can or should build an infrastructure to support the peak traffic required (witness MS, EA, et al) so we should all acknowledge PMDG and Avsim and the incredible amount of work they must have had to do, under pressure, to manage and troubleshoot and bring back the online services that we all enjoy and that we overwhelmed with our enthusiasm. Avsim is back and I have a fresh appreciation of how much I enjoy it. I'm flying my new 747-400 with loads of Avsim hosted scenery and other goodies. And PMDG has even credited my card alread…
