HelloHow do I stop the plane from pushing back, when I have gotten to the point that I want to be at on the ground? Also I am not sure if my earlier message got lost, but can't seem to find it, this was regarding to ATC voice traffic. Sometimes I run into an issue where the first word from my virtual ATC, and plane stutters, (for lack of a better word), when something is said, when using certain freewhere planes, Has anyone encountered this problem too, could it be do to a glitch in programming, or maybe a hardware issue perhaps? Thanks Zach Bender K7LTF

I will explain my situation as best I can, its been a problem for 4 months or so. DFI AD70sc moboAMD Athlon XP 22001GB pc2100 Micron Nvidia 5600 Windows XP Pro SP2 Every once in awhile I get a bsod saying Kmixer is the problem address b7fc8eff base b7fba000 datestamp 41107d32. This happens only when I run games. It happens everytime I run Flight Simulator 2004, every once in awhile with Battlefield 2, and never with FIA GTR. It is very odd. My computer can run for days at a time but when I start FS 2004, load a plane, sit for maybe 30 seconds or so, it crashes. So far I have: Uninstalled/Reinstalled Directx, all my games, various audio codecs, IE. Updated my audio a…

I have experimented quite a lot with addon scenery and addon mesh. I feel that the addon meshes add a lot to the Sim - and at not much of a cost(performance wise). However, I have always felt that this is not the case for addon airport scenery. Most that I have tried are framerate unfriendly -- and cause pauses. The worst effect of this is when you are landing at an addon scenery airport. Just when you are concentrating most during the flight-- cough, stutter, pause. I have a machine that seems to handle most things in the Sim OK -- but addon scenery , no.Occasionally I have found a piece of scenery designed in Gmax that seems to have little impact on performance -- but it…

I was asked to ferry an aircraft with a friend on the leg iceland to the UK in a Cessna 340.Having arrived there schedule problems with the aircraft meant I turned around and went back schedule due to lack of time and UK commitments.I have no ferry experience but was staggered by the size of the ferry tank and weight this aircraft was subject to.In the 340 there are two main tanks in the standard aircraft which sit out on the tips. They both hold 50 us gals apiece. The auxiliary tanks in the wings hold 20 us gals apiece and there is a locker tank which feeds the left side. This makes a total in the standard plane of 150 us gals. The ferry tank which took up most of the pass…

Guys, I love to fly GA singles and light twins. I also love quaint airports like the ones Georender is so expert at creating. I think I have all of his, plus a large number of the great freeware ones that are around. I also like busier GA airports in urban areas too.I live in Atlanta however. I seem to fly more in the NW USA than anywhere else because of the great scenery (free and payware) thats available for that region.heres my question...Can anybody point me to top notch GA airports for the Southeastern US?Rural airports with good scenery and ambiance would be most welcome. What am I missing?Eric

Hi,I just installed the PAD Dash 8 and CRJ 700, and from the screenshots they look like fantastic aircraft. But when I try to create a flight with them, FS9 tells me that it can't load the PAD_ILH_TCAS.gau file. Do I need FSUIPC for that plane? Doesn't say so on the website. On a hunch, I also tried defining TCAS2v7.dll and TrafficInfo.dll as old modules in the FS9.cfg file, but that didn't help either. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hello Gang!I have the great scenery addon for San Juan's Luis Munoz Marin Intl. airport (TJSJ) (Forgot the author's name), but unfortunately, the AFCAD for it forces all landings over to runway 10. In the real world, only certain airlines use runway 10 for landings, most of them, using runway 8, which requires a special last minute turn on final to line up (Pretty cool approach). Is there a way to allow both runways to be active for landing in the AFCAD file? If so, can a good soul let me know how to do that? I'd like to make the AI approaches into TJSJ a little more realistic. Thanks a million for any help!Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

in previous incarnations of flightsim I have noticed that the aircraft just don't want to spin.it is as if the aerodynamic model simply treats teh wing as one surface that stalls as a whole. For example, if you are in a steep turn and stll it, it just drops the nose as a whole and there is no tendancy to drop a wing, even if a goodly boot of rudder is applied. it would seem to me as though it just has a model that it applied to the whole wing as one surface and ignores yaw effect. its noticable that in amnouvers such as wingovers, the over banking tendancy that exists in the real world doesn't seem to apply - again as if it is simply calculating the lift of the wing as a …

Just a quick question as I am curious, if you are a current user of FS Pax, FS HotSeat, or FS2Crew, are you still using it for EVERY flight?Has it lost its appeal? Would you buy the package today, using for a for every flight for a week or so?Would like to hear comments on FS2Crew and FSHotSeat.I have read some comments that this has happened with FSHotSeat and other add-ons like this.I'll pose this question again in another month or so.Thanks!Barry

Did anyone else download Steve Carlson's paint job for the Beechjet from the library today? It seems like the wrong textures got uploaded. His pics accompanying the download show a US registered plane, but the actual textures in the download are a Canadian registered plane with a totally different paint scheme.Just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing. Hey there,I'm experiencing ongoing problems with variation. For example, I'm lined up on RWY 02 (017) at NZCH, Christchurch New Zealand, and my ND is showing a heading of 040 degrees. That fits, seeing Variation is 23 degrees East at NZCH. I've recently purchased the PMDG 737NG, and loving the FMC. However, it seems to be following the 'real life' tracks, so entering a Woodend One depature (runway heading) results in the aircraft veering off to the left, and tracking to an imaginary beacon! I can only assume this is related to Magnetic Variation, and it seems to happen at any airport I visit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Regards,[email protected]

If you haven't yet discovered this then you are in for a real treat(and it's free)!I have seen airports as I never imagined them before eg I always thought that Big Bear City airport was in the middle of the wilderness not in the centre of a township. I now know better. Go and see for your selves.Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I wanted to hit as many of my flight sim buddies as possible and this is the place. The biggest disappointment was realising how far our beloved flight simulator has to go particularly as I now in my twilight years!!!!

How high do you think a pilot in an open cockpit plane would be able to fly? There must a be a point at which the altitude does not contain enough oxygen. Maybe an hour or so at a high altitude otherwise I have no idea. I know for example the the Tiger Moth could in theory fly at altitudes over 10,000 feet but without oxygen I would have thought that after an hour or two the pilot would have to descend? The limit of my knowledge is that when someone flew over Everest for the first time it was with a bottle of oxygen, I believe that one of the two planes ran into trouble when the pilot developed an oxygen leak for a short time.Any thoughts?Andrewhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.bl…

I am flying in the Trans-Continental Air Race (Powder Puff Derby) on August 20th and I though it would be nice to have some airport scenery for the start and end of the race. Problem is that it starts at Santa Monica Municipal Airport (KSMO) an ends at Burke Lakefront Airport, Cleveland (KBKL). I've searched just about everywhere I can think of but nothing so far. As a last resort I could knock something up but scenery isn't my strong point!Has anyone seen any scenery for those two airports?Andrew BrownRoaring Thirtieshttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

I just applied for an International AOPA membership online and input my credit card details. Only message I got was a "thanks for submitting details" and no email?Any idea how long it takes to process these applications? Anyone else joined recently online? Also all the news seems to be U.S based stories. I am based in the UK and am wondering whether they feature international aviation stories.ThanksAdam
