Ok so I'm flying the F1 C172 on approach to KLGA. I'm about 10 miles out and at 2500 feet and lined up with ILS 04 (ILGA). I hit the APR on the autopilot. It immediately locks on to the localizer but for some reason it just does not seem to lock on to the glideslope. The autopilot does indicate APR GS so what am I doing wrong? Thank you.

After some research "on the field" and a bit of calculations, I've come up with a formula useful to set the "most realistic" zoom in FS9.With the term "most realistic", I mean setting a zoom factor that lets you see what you would really see if you'd carry your monitor chassis on the plane and watch through it. I seem to remember having read somewhere that in real life when you engage the AP (like the one in the DF Beech A36) HDG and ALT were engaged together. You could not just engage ALT and still point the plane into another direction. This could be done in FS2000 but in FS2002 and FS2004 this was changed. You could however change the config so you could still steer the plane while being on ALT hold.Now, if that is true, the strange thing is that with my default FS installation I CAN just engage HLD and manually fly to any altitude. And I CAN just engage ALT anf manually fly any heading!So... what's realistic? I want it to be realistic as possible(in my favorite DF Beech A36)…

Cool! Just read in the weekly AOPA newsletter that AOPA and Flight1 have teamed to duplicate the Commander sweepstakes aircraft in FS9. They'll be showing it at Oshkosh. The article goes on to say that "The software will later be available to members for download." The article doesn't mention if it will be payware or freeware, but I'm sure hoping it's the latter, if you're a current AOPA member.

Where have all my 2D panels gone? Everything was working fine a few days ago, then when I ran FS2004 yesterday all my 2D panels had disappeared. The view out of the window was still there, but no panels, no instruments, nothing. Same for all aircraft, so it's not a single aircraft problem.I then discovered that when I right clicked the mouse button the panel would appear, but then disappear again. I also discovered that if I switch to windowed mode the panels reappear, but not in full screen mode.As far as I'm aware I didn't change anything before this problem occured.Does anyone have any idea what's caused this? I may have run Flight Sim Manager in the interim, but …

Anyones help appreciated I Installed NY Lakes and noted double outlines of lakes, had same problem with FFNE and problem was fixed by removing default files, Unfortunatley not the case with NY Lakes, removed the HL and HP 916160 and so ons without any noted difference in appearance. Also if some could put in plain english how to install the gershins gray trees v_3. the read me is for FS 2000 and FS2002. My Email is [email protected] for anyone enlightened enough to help. Thanks

I have noticed some new files in the library regarding an enhancement in the night environment. Has anyone installed these files? How are they on frame rates? Are they much more realistic than the default environment? I have a lower end system (1.8 Mz) and don't need a big frame rate hit.Thanks!Airbus

This mode does not work for me. As soon as I press Y to enter slew mode the plane start turning in the horizental plane and no commands like 5 to freeze all movement helps. Neither 3 which should make the plane turn in the opposite direction. The arrowkeys moves the plane but left or right but it still turns around.

After uninstalling UT USA and going back to USA Roads I tried playing around with the Traffic density setting. I turned the setting down to 15% from 45% and bow did that increase my framerates in large cities. What's interesting is I still have a decent amount of traffic in the skies and on the ground minus the performance impact. I know this has been discussed before but I never tried it thinking I would have little or no AI traffic. Using Flight1' Ultimate Traffic together with the freeware GA Traffic program gives me a decent about of traffic around me even with a setting 15%.Now I'm wondering what the traffic density setting actually does since it doesn't totally …

Hi Folks, What happens in the real world when you track a VOR on auto pilot? In FS9.1, when you overfly the VOR the autopilot ceases to track the radial and you have to swithch to heading mode or fly manually. If you let the autopilot keep tracking the VOR into the 'zone of confusion' you can end up flying in circles. But is this what happens in the real world?Cheers,Noel.

I am looking at FS Panel Studio Utility and I have a few Qs.1. Can I use panels or Guages in an aircraft from another (another default/Payware/freeware)?2. Is it legal/copyright to copy/move panels/guages from one payware to another for personal use (not for resale)?I basically want to use the heading indicator and VOR/GS (from any of the payware. Not decided which one yet) as a floating guage that I can move it into my second monitor.

Folks,It just caught my attention that one is able to review basically entire flight using instant reply option.Please correct me if I'm wrong in my thinking, but this means recording process is taking place throughout the entire flight.I would imagine this is taking quite a heavy toll on the sim performance, doesn't it?If you think disabling this option could have positive impact on the FS9 performance please give your feedback here.ThanksDom

Hey all,I haven't heard much about the Flight 1 DC-9, was wondering how it rates from current owners, or anybone who has a comment. For example does it work 100% with FS2004 and how does it compare to Dreamfleet's 727? I added a control topwer to a airport that didn't have it, and i was thinking that it would take away the advisoty traffic channel and have ATC, anyone know how to change the airport to take a controller, instead of having Advisory.

Just purchased Active Sky last night. Great product so far but I have a couple of questions. For realtime weather updates does my weather inside FS9 have to be set to USER DEFINED or REALTIME UPDATES? My second question is that I've noticed that haze or fog can just suddenly appear and then dissappear, is'nt the whole point of Active Sky to avoid these sudden changes? Do I have something configured incorrectly? Thank you.
