This was discussed in another thread relating to a specific scenery package:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=264366&page=Given that in flight simulator we are viewing the world through a limiyed resolution screen I wondered what the effect of this is. I analyised this to determine what distance on the ground would be represented by 1 pixel on the screen:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122618.jpgThe values I assumed were:SD 600mm (approx 2 ft)SH 300mm (corresponding to a 21" monitor)SVR 1200 (corresponding to a 1600 * 1200 screen) resolution)The results were:H = 100m ( 328ft) R = 0.67mH = 200m ( 656ft) R = 1.34m H = 400m (1312ft) R = 2.67mH = 5…

Which *.dll-files should lie in the FS9-folder? I get error-meesages when I start up FS9, and some of my gauges on the PMDG 737 NG does not function at all. All enginge-indicators are set on zero and does not respond to the throttle. So which *.dll-files should be placed in FS9 folder?

http://www.rhodesres.com/dusty/purty.jpgIf the eight-year-old graphics engine of Falcon:Allied Force can show cloud shadows we BETTER have them. Look how great it makes these otherwise mediocre graphics look. You can really SEE how high the cloud formations are- it makes the weather really look 3D.

Does anyone know if Dreamfleet is still planning to release a 737 for FS9? There is no info link to it on their website. I was a big fan of their 737 for FS2K2 and was looking forward to their new version. I know that the PMDG 737 is supposed to be good, but paying $40 + $30 for the two models (to get full functionality)seems a bit steep. Questions on the Dreamfleet forum about the upcoming 737 have gone unanswered for weeks. Sounds like they changed their mind after PMDG. That would be a shame.

This question doesn't seem to fit in any particular forum.... so I'll try here.I am making changes to the AI sound files to make them more realistic. So far it has just been a number of name changes to files. Now I want to increase the volume of some existing AI sound files. It seems like to should be a simple matter of loading them into WinXP's sound recorder utility and hitting the "Increase VOlume 25%" button. Problem is that particular button is greyed out with these files.I can't seem to find a way in properties to "unlock" these files for editing. Any suggestions?

My pitch trim keeps self adjusting to full nose down trim, meaning the little white notch keeps going all the way to the top.If I set it to the middle, or to T/O position, it will just go right back to the top. Anyone have any ideas?

I recently got a new computer and installed FS9. However, when I look in the usual folder (C:Documents and Settings/My Name) there is no Application Data folder and hence, no fs9 config. Does anyone know what is going on?

If you look at the picture you will see the Visibility Layer around the mountains. It's not a cloud layer (although I'm sure MSFS creates the visibility layer as one) ...... I'm using FSE1.2 and ASVKind regardsTerblanchehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122872.jpg

This has probably been asked and answered before but I would like to know if it is possible to edit something in the aircraft or panel.cfg files that would reduce the intensity of some of the gauge lights - especially white. When flying at night, even with the navigation (panel) lights off, the white on the gauges is sometimes almost blinding - too bad there is not a "dimmer" switch to reduce the "glare".Any ideas appreciated.

I have the Garmin GPS500 in a few of my FS2002 aircraft. Does anyone know where there might be a tutorial specific to this particular GPS?I've found a few that seem to dance around it, but none that really address it.Any thoughts?

I know how to change the location of the tower on the map but the actual tower view is still within about 2nm of the airplane. So when the airplane takes off the tower view also takes off and follows the airplane about 2nm behind. Can I change the tower view distance to 20nm more more?

these are two wonderful programs. FS Autostart's specialty is in shutting down unnecessary programs to clear all available memory of FS. FS Manager is an overall manager which includes a utility to optimize ram.My question is, do they both affect ram the same way? I generally like to use Fs Manager only because it gets things started a bit more quickly. I manually shut down other background programs manually. With that consideration, do both programs clear ram the same way, or if not, how do they differ. Thanks to both Ken Salter and Rana Hossain for their generous work!Sherm

I see that the default Baron checklist says to setup an approach at 95 knots -- but also see that this is 5 knots below the blueline ( which to me indicates that if you lose an engine on approach, you must land) Just wondering if I have this right - and what do RL twin pilots do . Barry

Lima to Cuzco (SPZO) is the only flight I have ever made in a real B200. I recall the approach being pretty spectacular(!) Does anyone know where I might find an approach plate for SPZO? I've used up all my usual resource. ThanksDavid
