I was playing around with my settings yesterday to see what kinda of frame rates I could get. I left my aircraft parked at KIWA in AZ and made a bunch of different setting changes. Hi all! I have the RH rocker switch on my PFC yoke setop for pan up & down. Sometimes when I select up or down,the VC and spot veiw's start rotating,how do I stop this? Thank's in advance!

I've just got Carrier Operations Collection (all three, FS, Vietnam and WWII all together). One problem I have is the Harrier. Does VTOL work on this? And if so how? I've tried looking around a little bit on websites, but haven't got anywhere apart from reading sales pitches.Thanks if you can help.

Folks,I've noticed recently that the admins and moderators have had to step in a little more frequently to deal with people using some rather coarse and colourful language.Please bear in mind that there are visitors of many ages reading our forums -- I would say from 8 to 80 but I would imagine I'm wrong at both ends of the scale! :) I know the forum software deals with the most egregious cases, but when writing an "impassioned" post, please take care to use clean and reasonable language.A good yardstick to use would be to use the FYOS (fourteen year old sister) test: "Would I be happy for my fourteen year old sister to read this post?"Thanks,Matt

About 1987, Manitoba Hydro, the CANADIAN provincial power company, placed in service a 138 kV transmission line from CYGX (Gillam) to CYYQ (Churchill) in Manitoba, CANADA. The line starts about 700 miles north of CYWG (Winnipeg) and runs north for about 175 miles. I flew from CYYQ to CYGX and could see the transmission line as a flew the route. I wonder how they knew that a small line like that was placed inservice? I work for Manitoba Hydro and know the line as I was in CYYQ when the line was placed in service. Today once again my sim crashed with a TCAS2v7.dllh error.There was an aircraft at the holding point, another which just landedon the same runway and myself approx 2nm out.The question is, do I need this gauge or can I juat get rid of it.Always seems to crash my sim when other traffic is around.Thanks for any input.

Hello,i have a question about ocean waves. I usally fly large jets, at high altitude. my water looks sometimes like i ice skateway(like a mirror)My settings in fs9 are terrain detail; land only and water effects; low. This because otherwise my fps go to low.I use textures from waterenvironment from Orik and darker water v2.Is there a texture so that at high alt the water is not so smooth, maybe even see a wave pattern.Rick

Hi all,It would be interesting to know how other users find different packages performing.I did a simple test to define average frame rate with two locations and settings (almost everything maxed out) I use when I fly. the Space Shuttle will load, minus the gear, but the Challenge flights cause the sim to crash...anyone else having this problem?

I LOVE the ERJ-145 by feelthere, and I was wondering whether their CRJ (which they market through Wilco) is as great an experience: great visual model, many repaints, an acceptable flight model, and - best of all - a complex cockpit with many fnctionalities.Any experiences?Thanks

Hi:I'm looking to improve on FS9's ugly, low res ground textures. Are my options basically FS Scene or some of the satellite photo real scenery?I'm leaning towards FS Scene because I am low on disk space and assume there is not much HD space required.Will this provide a noticable improvement?Many thanks

I have been trying to figure out what the purpose or use is of E-Dimensional's TrackIR. I just d/l a couple of demo videos at their website but I am not sure I see what this product does.Can anybody who uses this enlighten me? Is it amazing? Why?(I was actually wondering for some time about getting the E-Dimensional 3-D glasses....)JS

Am running Win XP Pro SP2 with full admin. rights (full control of FS2004 folder too). However, whenever I try to install new scenery, FS2004 says "You do not have permission to install files on this computer." It then updates the scenery database. When I go to the airport in question, the gate locations have updated but the default scenery is visible.Thanks for any help :DJames

Hey all I was flight yesterday out of JFK late in the afternoon around the time we had a really overcast sky with some lighting storms comming in and I updated the weather for my flight and it indeed was cloudy and overcast but I noticed if I was in the Spot Plane view I noticed that my plane cast a shadow on the runway even though it was completely cloudy and when I rotated my view at one point it would kinda white out like your looking directly at the sun. This seems to me a small thing but is there a freeware or payware software that contains more realistic weather or fix this?thanksPaul

I love the exterior model of the YS-11 and when I used to fly it in FS2002, I liked the panel and systems modelling. But can anyone tell me if it has been updated for Fs2004 -- with a clickable VC? Right now, I have it installed but don't seem to have too much able to be controlled from the VC - but maybe I am missing an update?Regards Barry

Yesterday I read Gene Davis' Computer Pilot review of the Flight1 Pilatus PC-12. I was intrigued, so I started reading around some on the web. I like to fly in the VC, but I'm stuck with a PCI video card, and I don't have a lot of framerates to spare.
