Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I live near Slatington airport 69N Pennsylvania USA. Departing runway 10 you are headed right for a mountain. Having been there, I can say that's right. The problem is the Lehigh River does not run up and down the mountain to the right side of the pass. There is a chance the mountain is closer to the airport than it should be, maybe that's why it runs up the mountain. Or the course of the river could be off.This happens even when terrain complexity and texture size are maxed out.Exactly what component upgrade would yield the best result?Mesh? Textures? Landclass? One I don't know of?Thanx in advance:-wave

When you insert the statement:AVE_FRAME_RATE_DISPLAY=1into fs9.cfg, you get to see the low, ave and high frame rates during sim operation. From a post I read, last character set relates I believe to the variance, and is expressed as a percentage. He mentioned he sets his frame lock such that the variance value displayed is around 3% or less, giving him the best compromise between smooth and highest frame rate. Hi Guys,I've been having a really weird problem with my FS lately.Take a look at the attached shot to see what I mean.I'm getting that problem if I click on any other program running in my taskbar and then return to the sim - now,obviously,the easiest thing would be to just stop clicking on the taskbar,but,like most people,I do other things while flying so that rules that out.If I happen to be in a turn while I go to the taskbar all my gauges go back about 5 or so seconds.I've changed graphics card drivers,been through all the card settings.Anybody else got any suggestions to add?I'm at the point that if I had hair I'd have pulled it out long ago.lol.http://forums.avsim.n…

I have installed alaska lighthouses for fs2002. All work fine except for the trees in Point Retreat. I have upgraded the tree replacements and also installed the auto generated tree upgrade. I just can't seem to get the trees to look like trees. They just look like 'White Rect. Boxes'. Can someone tell my problem and a solution?

I believe that FS2004, AKA FS9, AKA FSACOF was the first in the line of Microsoft Flight Simulators that used a "theme" called ACOF (A Century of Flight)as a marketing aid. Now that the Simulator has been out for some time, I am wondering whether the theme was successful and whether furure MS Sims will also have a theme. Note, that I am not questioning the success or otherwise of the Sim itself - just the theme. Obviously , the degree of success of the Sim should be partly, maybe even largely, determined by the marketing theme as well as the technical brilliance and usability of the programme. Have seen some good and bad stuff about FSNet. Is the final version out? The part about ads on the evaluation version was a little scary. I'd just buy it to start, but not sure if my 533 MGH Pentium III with 32 meg vid card and 192 meg ram can handle it. Do the ads really go away when you buy it? Also heard the ads are displayed in the ATIS text. I have "show ATC text" disabled already, so does that kill the ads? Or did the developer give up on the idea of ads?Is there any other proj…

I have selected some programs to 'stop & restart' in my 'FS9' profile, these programs have systray icons, but when I shut down FS9 the icons do not reappear, have I done something wrong?TIA

Ok, I think most of us here would like to have Flight Simulator parallel as close as possible to real life. Well, did any of us ever think what IF it became as good as real life? Help!!Has anyone encountered this problem? My ATC window has changed to an opaque blue with white lettering partially blocking the instrunment panel or the view. How can I restore the default window?

I've got the Level D and found that I can't manually track VOR's in manual modes. It won't capture the VOR as a result.I'm told or believe that Level D say this is how the real aircraft is by I find this hard to believe.I'm curious to know if anyone who may really fly one of these aricraf can confrim how to manually fly VOR to VOR rather than having to enter in as a waypoint on the FMC. Hi All,I just read an excellent review of Ultimate Terrain USA by Andrew Herd. I always enjoy reading and respect his reviews of various products. One of his suggestions in his latest review was to place UT USA just below the Default Terrain in your Scenery.cfg. Mine was near the top and above MegaScenery's PNW (around Area/Layer 12). Before changing the config as he suggested, I was always able to start up at KSEA in less than 2 minutes (closer to a minute is more accurate). Moving UT USA down to just above the Default Terrain (around Area/Layer 121 on my system) as Andrew suggested, caused the loading of KSEA and PNW to suddenly take a little over 5 minutes to star…

I've been booting around, as of late, in the old Douglas Skyraider, which was originally designed for CFS2 but was updated for FS9 by Rene Spaan.It calls for an old gauge -- DC9_66_FUELTOT -- that I cannot find anywhere. When taking off the scenery is clear as a bell, as I gain altitude the scenery fades into a a blur and only comes back clear as I go along my route, but, then only in segments; the scenery is blurred off to the horizon and the clear areas I had passing through fade back to a blur behind me.As I start my approach to an airport, the scenery becomes clear in segments as I decrease altitude. On all PSS airbus flights I get stutters 30 mins into every flight. I have also tried other aircraft and the same problem occurs.I re did my fs9.cfg, any other ideas? I also changed to latest drivers still no good.My specs,Athlon xp 32001gb ddr400 pc3200 ramati radeon 9800 proI think it could be CPU usage during my flight, as it has a high load in conjunction with the stutters, why?Regards,Alexander Martin.-----------------------------------

I decided to alias a new panel that I like to an aircraft that I like. The new panel works perfectly with the original aircraft. I have tried to alias this panel with another aircraft, but the gauges will not appear. I have tried the alias in the panel.cfg and in the aircraft.cfg, i.e. panel=XXXpanel.new, but the gauges still will not appear. Could anyone help please?Thanks!Airbus

Say, Ya'll, (it's OK, I'm in Texas)Can anyone recommend a good FREEWARE utility for taking screenshots of FS9 in a multi-monitor setup.I want to capture the active window only, not all 3 monitors. Unless there is a newer version out, I believe FS Screen will put all 3 monitors into one capture, so I need to get around this.Thanks,Mark

I am trying to understand why people always aim for high frame rate (40..50..60 etc) for visuals? Isn't it the motion picture frame rate is around 24fps? then for FS why do we need higher numbers than that?thankssrini
