I am writing a utility to convert flight plans copied from real world planing sheets to the the RTE format. Can someone email the format description or header file for the structure used in the RTE format (flght plan file)?I am doing some programming today and would like to finish this utility. I have asked on the PMDG board, but got no reply. (The PMDG guy with the info is on vacation.)Anyone? There are some utilites floating around, so I know it is out and about. [email protected]

I installed Air Land 1.0 which upgrades the taxiways & runways in FS9. I reopened the program & went to my local airport (KEUL-Caldwell Industrial). The buildings have disappeared!! I've checked other airports in the area & the buildings are there. How do I restore my missing airport buildings?Thanks,Ed

More than likely people are trying to see if they can land the plane safely in those conditions. Something similar happened in real life when Cpt. Al Haynes brought his crippled bird home. Pilots tried to duplicate what he and his crew accomplished to see if they could be as good as he was.

Hi guys and gals,I need help. I'm CTD'ing everytime FS gets to the point where it is Loading Scenery Objects 0%... Does anybody now what FS is trying to do at this particular moment? I have rolled back my last 4 scenery installs, reset my fs9.cfg, reinstalled directx 9c. I'm stumped and I want to find out what is happening and I don't reallly want to just reinstall and all my aftermarket addons would be a nightmare.Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks...Jeff

Fellows,Lets have this debate and tell us your stand. As the topic goes "what is realistic" when it comes to flight simulation? Hi guys.I need some help!Recently I upgraded my system, and did some tweaks in computer, WinXP and FS9. Everything was fine, but recently, I started to have some problems loading aircraft textures. Scenery textures are ok.However, aircraft textures (user or some AI) has dificulty to load, since ir loads tail, wings, but not fuselage immediattly. Sometimes after 1 to 3 minutes, sometimes even more. And sometimes there are no textures at all on aircraft!!! But it's only with some, not all aircraft visible!I try to see if was something regarding the format, but no! I just installed the scenery for the Marsh Harbour (MYAM) airport in the Bahamas from the library (file fsb-myam-fs2004avsim.zip) from Flightsim Brazil. The scenery is excellent and frame-rate is unaffected. But, there is a problem with ATC. When I try to choose the option for a runway for take-off or landing, the ATC box shows only --Back--. No announcements can be made. I've tried to go to their web site but the registration is expired and their email address is no longer valid. Is it possible to edit FS 2004 in a way that the program's ATC will give You the real STAR or SID direction? For airports like ESSA and ESGG the instructions are quite wrong. So the question is: Can I edit the coordinates somewhere and obtain a real STAR or SID instruction ?

Hi,I am trying to learn MSFS and I have a pilot nephew who is willing to teach me. Yesterday, we tried multiplayer setup and basically it is useless for teaching (as it puts the other player in a different aircraft) as well as the default instructor tool packed with FS9.We concluded, only effective way for him to teach flying is being in the cockpit together and being able to watch the panel and see what i am doing. Is there a way to connect and synchronize two instances of MSFS over internet? I don't think FSUIPC/WideFS does this. I am hoping one of you have come across this problem before and a solution to recoommend. thanks in advance//sri777

I recently did a clean re-install of FS2004 and the first thing I have noticed at nightime is the "halo" effect around runway lights.I don't remember it being that way before the re-install so think I probably had "tweaked" them somehow. I remember them being relatively "clean" as you made an approach or taxied down the runway.Of course I don't know how I might have done that and don't seem to find a program/utility online for such a purpose.Does this ring a bell with anyone? (Or do I just have a bad memory)Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

I noticed that even when the Bell Ranger copter is at lowest idle on the ground and should be still, it keeps moving to the side ever so slightly. If left for a while, it will move into a building or other obstacle and crash. The only way to stop it seems to be to shut it down completely. Any ideas on how to keep it still?? Thanks. Tom

For example, would the MSFS team incorporate the latest technology in the next version of FS if the entire program was not backwards compatible with all the great payware addons we have, or in an effort to keep good faith with loyal customers like us, would they hold back the technology so that we could have our payware in the next version? I've had these lights go off from time to time with loud beeping, but I don't know what they mean (I'm guessing engine over heat, stall warning etc) but I'm not sure and cannot find any reference to it in the learning center. traffic and/or scenery files? I have been adding freeware sceneries, mesh, etc. for while now. Also I'm also up to about 600 traffic bgl files compiled with MRAI, etc. The other day I added one or two airlines, and I edited a AFCAD file for an airport. I left AFCAD running for a while, and the next time I launched FS2004, it got as far as redoing it's scenery files (as usual), then locked up, "Not Responding" and using about 50% CPU, but never got off the splash screen. I noticed that AFCAD had also stopped responding, killed it, and ever since FS2004 has continued to lock up at the same place.I removed the possible offending airport that I had been editing, same pro…

How can I get the DI and magnetic compass to operate independently.I want the magnetic compass to lead or lag the DI as I turn throughnorth/south. On my archer the di and magnetic compass follow each other slavely.
