I have seen that there exist three commercial traffic addons. i.e.Ultimate Traffic, My Traffic and Traffic. In what way do they enhance the flysimming?Is it by means of quantity? So that even with traffic set to 100% we get an unrealistic low amount of traffic with the FS default traffic?Or is it quality in the meaning that the traffic will behave more realistic? Maybe the default traffic behaves in a unrealistic way?Or is it eyecandy? Is it that we will see more planes with these addons?Another question do these addons work like Active Sky i.e they are external programs that is started outside FS.How much do they affect performence? Hi all!Hope this post can stay here for a while, this might not be hardware related :-smile12, and the HW forum is not too crowdy these days ... I havent noticed this earlier, but lately I have had a huge drop from aprox. 25 to 10 fps when I move from outside view to cockpit view.I haven't changed hardware lately, but went from the ATI Catalyst Utility to the latest Omega Drivers (in order not to spend most of my flying time booting the pc).The Realair Spit and Marchetti doesn't suffer from this, so my guess is that it has something to do with gauges.Oh, an these ...TextureAGP=0PanelAsTexture=0... didn't make any difference.Also there's some kind of seasick oscillating ti…

Is there a fix for how visibility drops during certain weather conditions as you descend for approach? It seems that FS2004 doesn't show that visibility below you is say, 5 miles, but only when you descend through a certain maximum altitude, does visibility suddenly change. It's a bit odd that if visibility is only a few miles on the ground, that you would be able to see the ground clearly at 8,000 feet but once you go under that, it's like a sudden haze/fog envelops you.The same happens after takeoff - it would be rainy and 1 mi visibility on the ground, but once you take off and clear the cloud deck, you can see the ground clearly. For anyone flying at this hour, there is a great "soup" at Denver International. Ceiling 300 ft and visibility at 1/4 mile. I was able to see the runway just barely at minimums. There is also a 16 knot cross wind. With Active Sky it was truly wonderful. If you have the chance I would recommend this flight.

Hi fellow flightsim pilots. i am getting a frame rate hit anywhere i am in the DFW area with nothing but default terrain and scenery installed. I have my traffic rate at 100%. I am only getting about 7-9 FPS anywhere any the dallas area. Once I fly out of the DFW area my frames jump back up to 14-19. What is everybody else getting? P4 3.0 gig radeon 128mb vcard. Is there any way I can getr FPS up in this area. As of now I wouldn't even dream of adding add-on scenery. Thanks in advance and Happy Flying.

Have I missed it or does anyone know of a short program used to select the situation (saved flight) on FS9 startup? There use to be one i believe called FSSelect or something like that. To me this was very useful.Brown

I'm having the strangest problem now. I can ask ATC for an ALT change but get no response. They just ignore me and continue on with everything else as usual. If I don't fly to the clearing Altitude, ATC will just nag me for the rest of the flight without canceling my flight plane. What in the world is going on??? :-hmmm

I am using flight simulator 2004 and I am taking a flight from NY to FLA and I am using the realworld weather update, however from time to time when I am flying the clouds just seem to "white-out", like I am running through a fog. I know here on the east coast today its pretty cloudy but since I am flying 12,000 feet I would be above most of the clouds and this "fogging" effect should not be like this. Is this a glitch in the FS2004 program or something else?thanks for any helpPaul

Hi there,since a couple of month I'm having troublewith FS9 when selecting an airportin the 'create flight'-menu.With most of them, except for the runwaysno other starting point like ramp e.g. can be selected.The coordinates of others are far from goodand will put you somewhere in the middleof an ocean or right into nowhere.I'm aware that I could reinstall FS9to solve the problem, however I spent a lot of time in tuning the configs and adding addons, also I would like to learn what lead to the problemor at last where it can be solved.So my questions is about which certain file(s)are responsible for airport coordinates,so I can replace them with the original one(s)from the…

I have the London Airports Series from Gary Summons of UK2000. I am wondering how much of an improvement Heathrow Pro is ove the current Version of Heathrow from the bundle I already own. I have seen plenty of screenshots and they do look good but I wanted to get some opinions of the difference if anbody has any.ThanksAndrew

My FS2004 splash screen has shifted off-center to the left of my screen when starting up FS9.1 It's not a show stopper, and eventually FS9.1 starts up correctly, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if it's a known issue.I'm using a 17" LCD panel running at 1280x1024, with an nVidia 6600GT 128MB video card, Windows XP, SP2.I'm not exactly sure when it started behaving this way, I think it was after I installed some commercial scenery addon (not 100% sure).Any clues?

can you input co-ordinates into FS2004 instead of an airport to land so that you can effectivly just land in feilds etc.Thanks

I'm looking for smaller aircraft that are used as cargo carriers. Feelthere is working on the earlier 737s, hopefully they will make a freighter version. Anyway, what about a Falcon20C, Lear 25/35, Beech C99, etc?With all the bells and whistles, dynamic virtual cockpit, etc. The PMDG 1900C is nice, but only with basic systems which leaves it lacking when I fly it then go for something like the LDS or PMDG 737s, 747s. Same problem with the feelthere Cessna 208, great airplane, lots of fun, but basic system functionality...Are there any payware aircraft out there in the future that will satisfy my requirements?
