I am considering replacing the default Fs9 lightning for something else (although actually the default one is pretty good!). But what? What freeware lightning should I be considering?Appreciate posts, thanks!JS

Do I need something else with it, I see some people has it with UT,or will it be all right by it self, or do I need UT or like. (and again still no update on the CS site)

Question. I currently use the buttons on my PFC Jetliner Yoke to pan around while in VC. As such I do not use the mouse. I see that the TrackIR takes over control of your mouse to facilitate moving around the VC when using it. Does anyone use it with the Jetliner Yoke?

Hey All,I'm looking for the best airport addon free or pay capable of handling both land and float/sea planes. Ideally it would have docks, a ramp for amphibs, some hangars maybe a few parked vehicles and aircraft a cool setting and ideally be in the NW USA or SW Canada but anywhere in the world is good. Dirt, grass or paved doesn't matter. Of course it doesn't have to be real just someplace to call home and fly out of. Does such a thing exist for FS9?Thanks All! -Ed-

Hi,Beyond the regular ER and LR varieties, what are the different model variations mean in each class(200,300,400) of the 777 aircraft?For example, for Meljet 777-200ER base model paint kit, i find different textures such as "777-228ER", "777-236ER", "777-224ER" etc.,What exactly are these 228, 236, 224 variations mean in the 200 model class? I have meticulously compared the aircraft.cfg file and model.cfg files of some of these models with the reference Meljet 200 model and found no difference in them except for each one's title and description which specifies them as these special variations. Is there any difference in the flight dynamics of these variations?Anyone plea…

Ok I've downloaded the latest AIRAC for FSBuild and installed it. I've also downloaded the latest FSBuild Data file and installed it. For some reason FSB will not display any SID's no matter what airport I specify as my departure airport. I made sure to re-index FSB and that did not help. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hello-Does anyone know if it is possible to get pushback tractors in FS, and where I can find them? I have seen screenshots of people being pushed back by a tractor. When I hit Shift-P there is nothing pushing me back. Thanks Jason

Hey everyone,another newbie question for you guys and girls. I am moving up from the props to the Jets and particularly the Lear and small business jets doing long hauls across the US and some trans-altantic flights so I have started using the autopliot feature and I am noticing that I can set the alt and directions and let the plane fly and I have no problems with setting the alt but when it comes to setting the direction I see course and heading dials and would like to know what is the difference between the two? I have an idea that course is a set direction that never changes while the heading is the current direction of the plane. Am I right? When setting a course wit…

Hi all:Turns out that the release of Robert Sanderson's Stearman 75 (1955 version) isn't just a few days away as I'd thought ... but the good news is that he's planning to release a package of not one, not two, but three, versions together. In addition to the 1955 version there will be a 1965 and 1975 versions, at least one of them a weird and wonderful real-world aircraft. In the discussion about shimmering, someone said that setting mipmap to 4 should be kept in all cases 'cause it tells FS not to override HW/driver settings or so.I'm now completely confused where to set the mipmap to, currently I have it at 8...Andreas

Hi there, hopefully this is being posted in the corret forum. I have noticed that when I now start FS9, after the main Flight Simulator 2004 screen is displayed, the sim goes straght to an aircaft at an airport, ie. it misses out the settings page. I had not realised this until I got some new scenery and now need to go into the scenery settings menu. Also, when I end a flight, it shuts down the whole sim, again not going to this settings page. It also means I have been unable to create a flight. I'm sure I must have just done something silly, I just cann't remember what. My memory is not what it used to be!Thanks for your help.

Folks, if you haven't checked out Birds Eye View textures yet, run, don't walk to get em.I've been waiting on these for some time and purchased within minutes of release. In a word. Fantastic.They have absolutely made the biggest impact on my FS experience of ANY single enhancement I have installed, and I've probably installed most of em.Let me put it this way. If BEV is not compatible with the next FS version when release, I can't imagine I'll install the new version until BEV is compatible.

I have started hand flying entire flights on the Level D 767-300 from takeoff to ILS landing. I use the flight director alot with AP off. This aircraft handles so well and is so realistic, that it is a joy to hand fly. Everytime I fly it, it seems I discover a new feature or learn something new. :)

It has been a real pleasure being able to read the blogs by a few of the team members on the FS development team. It looks to me, that they are definitely doing what they can to make us aware of what goes on behind the scenes. And to also let us know they see what we want, and the problems we encounter, then they give us an idea of whether that can be done in the next version, or perhaps why it is that way in the first place.For me it really has opened my eyes to the development process, and allows me in a small way to get to know the guys on the FS DEV team. I dont know how many of you have seen this new air racing series but I have to say it is incredibly exciting, fast and "dangerous" with the aircraft very low making incredible manouvres.Wouldnt it be something to have that series duplicated in MSFS with the locations and timing so that the sim pilot can emulate and compete with complete safety ;-)It even beats car racing for the thrill factorPeter
