Hi Everyone:After buying the Hong Kong 2004 video real scenery by Flight Soft, I thought I'd give some feedback for the forum members in case there are some of you thinking about buying it.First of all, if I was to score the overall quality and detail, it would get an 90/100. It is excellent in its detail of the high-rise buildings in Hong Kong and Kowloon islands and the old Kai Tak airport. The night scenery is even more amazing and the lights of the highrises are quite breath-taking. I'm just trying to find out the filename of the replacement halo bitmap that makes the nav lights on aircraft a kind of sparkling look. It does the same to the PAPI lights.I have Sandon Lyon's Halo v. 3Thanks,Tim

I downloaded it last night and got a zip file, when I unzip it, it wen't into my FS9 folder by mistake but it seem to run alright is this ok and another thing when I DL the file from F1 I kept getting a error saying something about virus sotfware or not enougth disk space

I have noticed that some quite complex add-on sceneries are quite OK in the FPS department -- but some others, which may even be only quite small renditions of an airfield, absolutely kill my FPS. It makes it so that there is not much point in installing addon sceneries because you don't know which ones these will be. Is there something that I should be looking out for here? Size of download file, etc?Regards Barry

Look......I know I'm going to get "blasted" for this, but sorry, that's the way it is.I buy a lot of payware, and I shutter when I see some of these great heavies like the upcoming 777, because I still haven't taken the time to learn the FMC. I like the default GPS and I wish that Flight One and other companies would just include it as an option. You navigation perfectionists don't have to use it...use the FMC. But I want the plane for its quality and flight characteristics and because I enjoy my hobby just the way it is. If Flight One and other developing companies want my money (PMDG, for example) and the money of other "closet GPS users", then at least make it an optio…

Hi fellows,I have been flying the PMDG,s, lvd-767, glass stuff for quite awhileand now I would like to try something in the line of the tristar, etc. Something that is not quite as new. I have always been a fan of theL1011. Have flown a few times on them some years ago. I see everyone isquite happy with the AEROSIM planes. I have a few GF units(no MCP) andwas wondering if these planes will work with the equipment, with other words is the AP custom or default?? Furthermore how difficult is it touse the FMS?? Hey guys,Wanted to get some expert opinion on whats happening here.I bought US/Canada/Mexico/South Americo/Carribean mesh from Fsgenesis a while ago, due to real life and being not able to fly much until recently I have only just got around to installing it all.Now, it's really great stuff, but I have one side affect, or maybe it's just me. Most if not all my airports now sit up on a plateau. Anwhere from a few feet to one in Colombia (Cali) thats sits up about 100ft on a 'hill'. Now I pretty much know the Fsgenesis stuff is right on, its the elevation of all the airports thats wrong.Anyone have ideas on how to correct this innaccuracy in FS9? Or if you know of this be…

Does anyone know where I could find charts for St. Barts? Does St. Barts have a tower in real life? I noticed when I landed there in FS9 that I had to use a CTAF. If the real St. Barts has a tower can I add one using AFCAD?Thanks for your help!Airbus

Just purchased and installed BEV. It looks fabulous but unfortunately every time I'm coming in for a landing and near the airport, an annoying stutter develops. I know it's due to BEV because I did not have this problem before installing it. Anyone else with a similar experience? Thank you.

Hello,Having been out of the "fs9 game" for a while I feel a little left out. I would like to buy a GA which has a VC with the smoothes gauges in todays market. I had fs 98 and then bought fs 2002 (never had fs2000), but I got it a month before fs 2004 was anounced to be released in June of 2003 (or there abouts) So now that I have had fs 2002 for almost 3 years I want a new simulator. I guess the Russian sim forum has been deleted due to inactivity.Just had my first "real" flight in the Yak-40 after spending the last few days preparing a procedures document for myself and practising take-offs and such. I flew from Domodedovo (UUDD) to Strigino (UWGG) with real weather and under FS2004 ATC, a distance of about 224 miles, using a visual approach to Strigino.I got a lot of practice with the basic autopilot in the Yak; it's actually easier, I found, to hand-fly the plane than use the autopilot. Once the Yak is trimmed, it flies pretty well almost hands-off. I had a bit of difficulty navigating from NDB to NDB. …

Hi guysAfter reinstalling my WinXP Im no more able to install PMDG 747 because of missing FS9 registry entires.It says that there is no FS2004 installed on my system.Anyway even when im adding them manually (i got them from my fried)still no luck!!I know that I can still reinstall the whole FS9 but thats not the point,I dont want to do this so where do I need to look...?Thx

Morning all.Was reading last night a copy of Airliner World, and an article covering an Air France A320 flight to Lisbon.In this article, they touched on the pilots themselves, and a brief background on them.It stated that the Captain had moved to the A320 from flying 747-400's. This is where it gets muddy for me. My assumption would be that captaining a 747 would be the pinnacle of a pilot's GA career, so I'm wondering why a pilot, who has worked his way through the ranks to be in charge of a 747, would transfer to fly an A320???Then I thought, maybe he's training to fly the A340, but then dropping back to an A320 seems very backward indeed. When I click on Create a flight and then Select Location, I enter in my Airport ID (EGLK in this case) and up comes two airports of the same name. Any ideas whats caused this, BTW It also happens with some other ID's http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/129636.jpg

Hey. Since a few days I'm not able to see landing and taxi lights from my cockpit view. However, they are visible with a tower or aircraft view. It is like this with all the airplanes. What to do????

Hey everyone i got another question for you out there. I was taking a long relaxing flight, since its rainning here alot in NY, so I decided to take a vacation to wear its sunny and warm so Costa Rica here I come.I planned my flight out of NY direct to Pavas, Costa Rica so I had to choose a plane that could handle the distance and since I am not comfortable with the commerical jets and I didnt want to do a long 6+ hour trip with the twin props I purchased the Cessena X Ciatation from Eaglesoft. Another newbie question. I've been searching for an answer to this question for the past couple of days but haven't been able to find one (probably a case of not using the right search terms): When I create a new flight, my plane always starts with the engine(s) on, the lights on, park brake on, and various other settings turned on. How do you start with everything turned off? I want to do things just like in the real world, or close to it, where the plane is parked off the runway, everything is turned off, and I have to go through all the items in the checklist to get the machine into the sky (and back).
