Guys it seems that when using an FMC planned route, it is almost impossible to get IFR clearence or if you just ask for clearence straight out they give you a different runway then the one you program into your FMC.Its cool using the FMC in 737NG, but it seems like I'm breaking all kinds of laws by taking off without clearence and landing without clearence. How do you guys do it; that is using ATC and your FMC programed route. I would guess maybe creating the plan in the fs9 planner then somehow converting it to be used in your FMC.I'm new to the FMC side of things; and have just bought the 737NG stuff...while I'm definately no newby to flying GA thru big iron; I am new to…

Hello fellow simmers! I'm completely in love with the bush flying after I purchased new comp that can handle all the glamorous graphics and effects. :-coolI have recently bought the DHC-2 Beaver from Aerosoft, and oh boy it is fantastic! Nothing is more enjoyable for me than manouvering in the steep valleys of BC, (I have downloaded numerous meshes btw) and trying to land that overloaded Beaver to the small airstrips of the area. :7Anyway, to the point: My only problem would be that I'd like to navigate "the old way"; dead reckoning etc, but I lack of usable maps. I found that the FS's own map is really good for that, but the thing that annoyes the cr** out of me, is the…

There were 2 threads this past week dealing with the various ERJ's and I suppoose prompted by the release of the FeelThere ERJ. In one of the threads someone mentioned the ERJ by Charles Fox and Bill Grabowski that was updated for FS9. I have the Wilco CRJ and was not satisfied at all with it. Also have the free Fokker 100 which is good but not really complete. Well, I got the CF ERJ on Friday (cferj.zip in the library) and I have to comment that this is an amazing piece of freeware. The best freeware I have, up until now, was the Lockheed Constellation that Bear just reviewed. This ERJ goes well beyond even that. It is quality throughout from systems, panels, to t…

i fly for a charter airline and we service the bush areas in washington, etc and i was just thinkin the other day - and i dont know how you guys determine where you fly, but i have a deck of cards and i pull out one card or more for each airport i service - which is all of the fsaddon/georender airports in the washington area, ok now, no matter how you pick your next spot to go to, i was thinking that we fly to many, correct?what im trying to say is, its easy to haul cargo/pax from this airport to that airport then this then that, etc etc, we could do that all day long - which i sometimes do on my day off, now what im trying to get at is, in real life, there would be not…

I hope I am posting this in the right place. Whew! This site is confusing!Anyway, I wanted to thank Tony Gould for all the hard work he went through to redo all the default FS9 aircraft textures. Great job, Tony! ;-) In fact, I have uninstalled FS9 and reinstalled it so I could use those default FS9 aircraft again. If anybody hasn't seen these textures, you should check them out. I couldn't believe how much nicer the planes look in Spot View and how much better the Virtual Cockpits look. Thanks, again, Tony.Tim

....and bought the Classics Vol 2. I'm very impressed with it. I finally got all the updates done (i also made like an installer, with all updates in it, so I can easily reinstall!)I found one small error with the DC10s, but I'm lovin' 'em so far...even with the limited time I have in them!

I just acquired FS2004 with the hopes of making use of some of the great addon scenery. I have tried a few and think I followed the directions but can't get it to work. For example, I downloaded the New York Objects V3.0. I Unzipped it, copied the NYObjects directory under the addon directory under my flight sim install directory. I then go into settings upon startup and "Add Area". I restart FS and I do see the area NY Objects there (Prio 1). However, now the buildings that it is supposed to replace (e.g. World Financial Center) are completely gone! I also tried the New York Modern and I get no World Trade Center and, again, the World Financial Center is gone. I tried th…

Several months ago a thread was posted with solutions to tail-dragger handling problems (lack thereof), principally Cubs. A great series of solutions was provided by a member named "farmer", which I failed to print, involving a/c cfg scrape-point changes and some air file changes for the FSD Super Cub 180. I have searched for this thread, using every subject I could think of, and have yet to find those posts. Several more recent inquiries about ground-handling for tail-draggers refer the writer to the solutions by "farmer", without providing the reference location. I have found that searches of these forums have a kind of "Christmas Morning Surprise" element in the result…

Hey Guys,I have been watching the Aerosim stuff closely! I want to get the Aerosim things, but I was hoping they my do a pick your package deal. I'd like to get the L1011 and DC10, but not the DC8. Maybe they'll do it! Congrats on this forum! And way to go repainters and Aerosim!I don't know if they do either, but here are some suggestions for them:1. Make the main file fully updated, so new customers don't have to purchase the main, then d/l all the updates. (as I said, this might be done already.2. Put a link on their website to this forum (because it is very advantageous (sp) for them.3. Do as I said above, and maybe have various packages. I would like L1011, …

Hello, I have a question for you guys! I love this scenery. Wouldn't fly without it but I am stuttering in turns and in flight. The frames are fine but it stutters. I am noticing some hard drive activity during this. I am assuming this is a ram problem? I am running 512mb of ram and my system specs are listed below. I remember in the past this was cured with another sim with a processor upgrade but something is telling me that this is lack of ram? Any suggestions?Athlon 2400xp512mb sdramati 8500 64mb7200rpm hdyaddda yadddaa :)Thanks,Todd

Hi All,I Would like to congratulate the developers on a fantastic add-on, it really does bring the flight-simulator to new standards. Combining it with FE2004 and you'll get unparralelled graphical realism (until fs10 comes along, offcourse). There is one small thing I would like to say as a side note; Being a beta-tester for FE, i have worked very close with Peter Wilding to get him to the results we have come to enjoy today (Update 3 is just around the corner), and although the BEV ground textures are top-notch, their water, environment and ocean-heightfield textures IMHO are not. Firstly the Ocean-heightfields are 1st - the wrong size, 2nd wrong color (why blue? it's a…
