Dear Simmers I would put down a few lines showing my comments regarding classic liners vol 2.1. The Tristar is the 'star' of the show here. I haven't looked at the dc8 and dc10 yet.2. Great model and lots of good repaints to choose from.3. Great panel, although it could be made a bit more photo realistic.4. No start up procedure, battery, APU etc.5. Electrical and hydraulic systems modelling is missing.6. Great FMS, very detailed and original.7. Great Flight Model, great autopilot.8. Overall, the best tristar out there at present. Hey all. I'm taking a GIS class that features ArcGIS products and I chose as a required project the subject of creating terrain for flight simulation software. In the scope of the project I went beyond what we all get into and also included actual commercial and military flight simulators although I seriously doubt that those entities go for the terrain and scenery realism our hobby does. Does anyone know any resources I could look into for information on how other simulator software incorporates terrain into their systems and how much they stress realism? Are there industry leaders in this field and if so, does anyone know good contacts in this areas? I'd appreciate…

Well known for attrocious flight characteristics as issued forth from Redmond Washington Labs of MS. Anybody know of corrected flight performance files (air file and aircraft.cfg mods)?I dont fly this one very often, and never looked for these until tonight. I checked the lib and found one set of fixes but didnt think they worked real well.Eric

I am confused about the scenery.cfg layers.In that file, the higher the number, the more priority it has? So if I am supposed to put the Free Flow series about UT USA, should FF have a higher scenery.cfg number that UT? Thanks for the help

I just installed AVG Professional 7.0. And I'm wondering what I need to know with regard to keeping FS9 running well.So I have some questions for those who know;-Does anti-virus software have an "OFF" switch? I know performance hits can occur in FS9 if the anti-virus is running in the background. I really want to turn AVG off when I run FS9, but I don't know how.-Can anti-virus, and AVG in particular, interfere with add-ons like AI, TTools, AFCAD 2, and scenery files, thereby causing graphic anomolies or CTDs? Any other tips from the experts would be appreciated.Thanks very much!Rick

Hi all, been getting to grips with the Aerosim packages lately and just wondered about your thoughts on the air files. I think the packages themselves are very good but im not too sure about the air files for the L1011 and DC10, the seem to respond just a bit too quick to movements and acceleration. Anybody have any views on this or has anyone altered the air file values, im probably just too used to how other "heavys" I have feel.All the bestRichard

Is this scenery worth it? Im thinking of buying but want to get some other opinions before I shell out 35 dollars. Also, does anyone have any screenshots of it at night? Thats something that interests me. Do the new lights appear in ever city or is just in select ones?Thanks

Can't figure out why my game constantly crashes now with a d3d9.dll error. All my drivers are up to date, I've tried rebuilding the fs9.cfg file, dx is installed correctly. I thought I did a good job of going through and getting rid of bad or duplicate afcads, bad textures in aircraft, etc.Can anyone help me get rid of this annoying crash? I can't fly for longer than 2 hours now, this is ridiculousThanks

Can someone out there please solve my latest problem?I've lost all airports,runways, and buildings in the western Europe and north Africa area from Spain & Portugal, Corsica & Sardinia in the north, to Morocco & Algeria & western Tunisia in the south. All other areas are absolutely normal, both default & add-on sceneries. I removed all mesh & landclass in the area and although it worked before , no such luck this time. I can't think of anything else to try and hope some kind soul can help without having to re-install everything again.System:- AMD 64 3200+,1gb ram,Nvidia 57256 graphics,Creative Soundblaster live 5.1.

Hi all,I have a problem. So I installed my flightsim 2004 game, and all was going great. The next day i go to fly, the airplanes were all messed up. Firstly, when taking off, the planes go to 250 K before even leaving the ground! Secondly, when I want to land, I have to turn off the engines because the plane will be going to fast if I don't. Turning the engine off at least gets me at 130 K. Landing is impossible, the plane ALWAYS bounces twice, and in order to land I have to put the plane at an angle of 35 degress going south others wise the plan goes up. This happens to all the planes. Can anyone help me?Thanks

I downloaded and installed the new Johannesburgh freeware scenery (worx01.zip) and when I click on the "fly now" button FS will load to about 45% then crash. I deleted the scenery and FS9 is working just fine now I an just warning anyone else who downloaded this scenery that FS2004 will crash.(At least it did when I tried the scenery)If anyone who has this scenery and FS2004 works, do you know why my FS2004 crashes after I installed the scenery?

Hello All.I'm in need of some serious help here as I've had a massive problem with my FS for some time now. I can't complete a flight, and sometimes can't even start one!My test flight tends to be Birmingham (EGBB) to Glasgow (EGPF) but I have tested in other areas and always get similar results.Basically one of three things will happen to FS. As the flight 'loads' it will get to about 96-98% (loading traffic) and 'bang', I'm back looking at the desktop. If this happens I get no error messages whatsoever. If the flight manages to load it may pretty much instantly lock up for a few seconds before giving me an error, and a chance to file an error report. The error repor…

I pick Aeroworx B200 and KBOS (default) to reproduce the problem but it happens with other aircrafts and airports too. Sim runs smoothly all the way down to the runway, but as I slow down and roll out on the runway (reversers on) a series of shutters ruins the smoothness. I replayed the same landing and same shutters happen at the exactly same moments.?Since AI planes don't show in replays, I guess I can rule them out as the cause.?I also tried lowing a lot of settings while replaying the same landing over and over again.?Exactly the same shutters no matter I am in 2D panel or outside view. Hiim having problem holding correct speeds using the Default Aircraft Autothrottle(737).Im using Fspassengers ,does the autothrottle work or is it faulty??.without warning it goes from 235knts to overspeed in 10secs.by the time ive switched it to manual,its too late.i will also post this on Fspassengers forum..although it's probably FS9 problem.this does happen on every flight thanks steve

I am trying to save some space.I have an aircraft whose texture folder is over 80 megs. I would like to change only one file (just the tail texture). I know that I could copy the whole texture folder, rename it and so on. But I'd like to know if there is a way to be able to copy only the tail texture file and have it accessed separately.Any help is appreciated.Thanks.Abe

I'm looking for a program that will allow me to move multiple entries at once in the scenery.cfg file.The built-in scenery library, as you know, only allows you to select one entry, then click "move down" about 100 times, then select the next entry you want to move, click 101 times on move down etc.This gets very tiresome when you want to move 20 entries several steps up or down. It quickly adds up to thousands of clicks. For example, recently I wanted to move all "aerial photo" entries above Ultimate Terrain. Would it be beneficial in terms of performance to install FS9 to a dedicated drive, and not on a drive where all of my other crap resides?I've utilized many of the tweaking tips I've found on this board, and still am lucky to squeeze out 20FPS consistently.I have an Athlon 64 3400+ (2.2Ghz), 1GB memory, eVGA Geforce 6600GT (71.89 drivers), Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS, 200GB Western Digital HD (78GB available), and a 10GB HD dedicated for Windows XP only.Your thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.
