Anyone know any locations at those two frozen areas where a c130 flies to, i am trying to start flying those flights. Any one could suggest the departture place and destination in arctic and antarctica ?thanks.Andre-=AM=-

A lot of negative words have been said about Captain Sim, and I've participated in that too. But enough is enough, isn't it? So the intention of this post is to get some opinions of the actual PLANE. I know you 727 folks are going to blow me out of the water but "How does one get the Autopilot Engaged". I'm an old aircraft engine maintainer that strongly beleives in use of checklist but just have not been able to figure it out. Completed Tutorial flight No. 1 tonight flying manual. Have flown other 727s with no autopilot problems. I love flying the aircraft - manual with about seven hours but ATC kills me with alt deviations. I ditched my four year old machine, and spent the kids' inheritance on what was for me a powerful new beast, plus a new copy of Century of Flight. Goodbye to those nagging fs9 problems. Right? Wrong. Right from the start, this computer just doesn't like flying. Time and time again it'll start "loading terrain," and freeze at maybe 10% or 12%. Total block. I have to reboot. I am looking for some info/advice as to how to sort out a multiplayer problem my friend is having.To make things a little easier to understand, I thought I would put things in bullet points.1. My multiplayer works fine apart from the client built into FS doesn't seem to do anything when clicking find or search. Perhaps I don't understand how to use it properly.2. His multiplayer used to crash when clicking multiplayer in the FS menu. A reinstall has sorted that out.3. I'm sure some would say absolutely.My installation is 18 months old, and all seems OK, but there is the odd sticky moment, particularly coming into land. It doesn't worry me too much, but I am wondering if maybe I'm missing out on the full potential of my system.I've also learnt alot since first installing, and maybe there is some alteration/addition lurking in the depths that I forgot I did and slows things down now.So, is a fresh installed FS9 always an improved beast?RegardsGraeme

I have during yesterday and today completely reinstalled Windows XP and then FS9.1 on my PC. I find now that there is one part of the world (may have been like this before I reinstalled - I rarely fly there) where, if I select to start from any airport within that area, the scenery starts to load but then FS just disappears when the terrain is shown as loading, very near the start - no error messages, just sudden bare desktop. No (FSGenesis) terrain mesh installed as yet. (Do that tomorrow!).This happens in the Caribbean, from Puerto Rico all the way down the islands to Martinique inclusive. Had I known what I now now I would not have installed BEV. It is a great program, no questions asked... And I had read previous messages about Net Framework and just ignored them.But this is a serious issue that this developer slipped into this program. Here's why.Since Net Framework, my machine (with Windows XP Home) has totally changed. First I have password boxes up for eveything I do. And I have Windows start and exit screens that I never wanted. It even triggered a password verification into MCAfee, when none was needed. It is all pretty much self explainitory and was figured using Real World Proformance manual.I found the Aircraft to fly exactly as predicted with the Told Data. Very Impressed. Sorry guys I'm a little happy about my home team going to the world series(and winning it ;-) )I was wondering if any of the talented repainters out there would do a Southwest based repaint that would include the Astros. Been a while, and both of Dreamfleet's recent offerings are at the top of my list.I have a lot of time in a Debonair in real life, so the A36 is tempting, but the Baron will get me there a bit faster.Anyone have both and care to comment? During fall and winter I like to do a lot of my flying in and around scandinavia. I'm looking for recommended sceneries, airports, mesh, landclass, etc. I already have all of aerosoft's scandinavian airports, and some of the swedish airports by swedflight. any other recommendations? Preferably stuff that doesn't conflict with fs scene and fsgenesis.thanksricardo

After struggling with this great freeware rendition of the Ilyushin Il-18 (available on http://il18.fluo.net/), I have managed to work out the idiosyncracies of the autopilot.I can now hold altitude, climb and descend, fly a coupled ILS approach and change my heading using the left and right turn controls.I just cannot get the heading hold to activate!!!If anyone has managed to do this, I would be very grateful for some illumination. :)
