Well, yippee! That is only the 3rd time we've heard it! Ive lost all faith in Captain Sim. Certainly, they werent the friendliest company to begin with, but since about December '04 when they shut down their support forum, their customer relations have gone downhill.The fact they would even consider charging full price for what they know is an unfinished release alone is disgusting. Their customer support has been going downhill since the 727 was released.Sorry for the rant, but seeing the article on the Avsim main page just irked me!

Here is a view flying into Las Vegas airport. As you can see the airport is raised on some platform. Anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it? Is the field elevation incorrect in the AFCAD file? Or is it the FSGenesis mesh which is setting the elevation of this spot?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130036.jpg

Everytime i try to fly the PMDG 747 the 3 screens with the engine gauges, map and attitude indicator etc go black after about 20seconds. how do i fix this?

Ok, here's what I can't figure out. I'll use the Default B747-400 for this example, as everyone has it.When you select this aircraft, the Global Freightways livery shows up as the default livery. I tried switching in the aircraft.cfg file, between Global Freight and Landmark, by copying and pasting. I Moved Global to the second entry, and Landmark as the first, and renamed Landmark to [fltsim.0] and [fltsim.1] now becomes Global Freight.When I load up the sim, and select the default B747-400, Global Freight is still shown as the default.I'd like to move some liveries around so that a particular one loads first, as the secondaries are not flown as much, if not at all. Being a casual user of FS9, but a frequent business traveler to cities like Boston and Cleveland, I try to recreate the flights. Unfortunately, the approaches used by these actual airports are not the approaches used by FS9. For example, flying to Boston from the west such as from Cleveland, assuming the runway in use is 4R at Boston Logan, the actual approach takes you north of the airport, then a right turn to 220 degrees. This puts you on a right downwind for the airport over the ocean. Then a turn to the right to intercept the ILS for the approach to 4R.For Cleveland, when approaching from the east for a landing on 6R, FS9 takes you way to the south to vector you to t…

Hello, Does the Reality XP ST3400 also have a Glide Slope indicator as part of the guage? That is my main concern before purchasing... In IFR conditions and terrain awarness guage with a glide slope (cream of the crop)... I hope!!! Could someone please inform before I take a step? Thanks,

Hi, Where can I find dirt/gravel/grass/ runway effects other than the ones in the library? I like them, but most are not suitable for bigger aircraft like jets and such. I beleive the flying experience is greatly enhanced when more realistic debris pattern are visible on non-asphalt runways :) . Is there any way I can modify myself this pattern on FS? Ok - so I am at my departure point and I download real weather -- I can then easily see what the weather conditions are, but how do I know what the conditions are at my arrival point. The problem with FS2004 weather is that you are flying along VFR and then suddenly , bingo! , you are in zero vis as the weather machine hands you over to the next station. It would be nice to know before departure whether I should create an IFR plan .Any ideas please?Thanks Barry

does that little program that separates AI aircraft from you during landing (dont know the name of it, but I think it slew them away from you) separate only you from the AI or does it separate all AI AND you from each other?just curious, as I am getting some bunching up during the approach (both while I am in the air and just watching from the ramp)

Hi Gang.I don't see any of the above when I try and create a flight plan in the FMC. ie, at EGLL after selecting Rwy 27L I get nothing in the SIDS, the same for an arrival runway, such as EGCC, again, nothing in the star section.can anyone please tell me how to correct this.I have the SP2 installed etc.many thanks,

fs9 is really starting to become frustrating to the nth degree, im about ready to delete everything and start all over again with a fresh installwhenever i fly intesive aircraft like the pmdg 73g or the lds 763 and i alt-tab out to start up my weather programs, when i come back in there is no text in the atc window anymore, the keys work and the atc works but no txt any moredoes anyone have a clue as to whats going on? it just started about 1 month ago and i cant figure out what it would have beenwould messing with editvoicepack have anything to do with it? because i did run the voices at an excelerated speedciao!Brian S

Dear Fellow Simmers,I am a big Tristar fan. I recently acquired the perfect flight tristar, only to be hugely dissapointed. That is such a crime of a sim.Recently I came across a lot of positive comments regarding the Aerosim tristar.I am also waiting for the pilots tristar, though this could take another 4 years or so till release.How good is the aerosim tristar? Shall i get it?

I recently added 3 new textures to my default 747 4 . In order to see them I have to add the next number in sequence [fltsim.4]etc, You know the drill. Here is where I think the problem starts, I had to change the way the aircraft config opens so that I could read it. It was in some strange format before, ( mostly encrypted) or what ever you call it. I had to change the properties to open with notepad so that I could add the proper numbers to allow the sim to display the new textures. Now some of my boeings,(747, 727, project opensky, and a few others) have some or all textures missing. I wonder if its the way fs9 reads these config files. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks…

has anyone started or thinking of starting a collection of british airlines for the TriStar.Below are a few i know of:British Red tail-with and without BOAC bird, already in the Aerosim package but there are some paints which recognise the transition periods.BRITISH AIRWAYS Blue speedbird, always a classic!!!!!British Airtours, Both Red and Blue liveries.Caledonian. Original classic livery, aer lingus livery, white with badge on tail and with no titlesPeach air. Silver and white bellies.if someone could paint one or some of these it would be great for us brit simmers...... preferably Caledonian!!!!!TQ

Age 7, on a flight from Alicante to Gatwick I visited the flight deck of one of these beautiful aircraft. It sparked a lifelong interest in aviation and I remain a big fan on the TriStar.I would love to see this livery for Aerosim's package.

Interested in this product but could not find info at the site or here on the two questions above. It looks like it is a module rather than program, so I think WideFS is out. But I am not sure. My rig is streched to its limits so I am very picky about adding anything that taxes CPU (graphics is ok). Thanks in advance.

I am curious as to whether real world pilots feel that it is easier to fly real airplanes or flight simulator-that is, the acutal process of physically handling the plane. The reason I ask is because I have a hard time maintaining altitude, especially during turns. I took flying lessons some years ago (didn't get my license due to finances at the time) and though I had problems maintaining altitude at first, I overcame that and had no problems. I suspect it is because in FS there is no seat of the pants feel so I find myself using altitude hold on auto pilot more than I would like. I use a CH Flight Sim yoke and can trim ok but I find that have to constantly fight to …
