Something really strange is happening.Sometimes FS9 will just suddenly close without any error messages. If I try to reload the flight from an Autosave file it will shortlyafterwards close down again. Funny thing is that sometimes I can flyfor hours without any problem. Would appreciate any advice/suggestion/indication about possible cause. Thanks in advance.

HI How many aircraft add ons can FS2004 handle?I have in excess of 400 aircraft (not including livery variations) in my Aircraft file. This probably accounts for the painfully slow loading ?MS Train Simulator solved this loading rate with the "Train Store" software. Is there a solution for FS2004?Cheers Roy

Hi everyone. The plea is aimed at those of you who have a VA or are members of a VA that fly in UK airspace. If you meet this criteria then you will by now be aware of UKRoute V2.0. I am the developer of this program and its updates, and in the process of finding mirror sites to host the monthly airac updates. The current method of distribution of this file seems not to be working at the moment so I need a little help.In the first instance please can you visit this link but please please please only visit if you intend to help out as this site has bandwidth limitations. Here is the linkhttp://ukroute.tripod.com/help.htmThanks

Hi all,I downloaded the superb Mirage 2000 released yesterday, and I am amazed at the quality of the work in it. The one thing about it that has me confused is the fact that I am unable to get any of the models to go faster than Mach 1.44 at any altitude. I have tested it from sea level to 50,000 FT using standard conditions, but it still won't get faster than M 1.44 Is there something I am missing related to the afterburner or something similar? Thanks,David S

Being a newbie, I must confess I don't know much about aircraft but I know what I like:C-130 HerculesA400MMassive turboprop planes! My first question is, assuming they exist, can you name me some other large turboprop planes? I really have no idea of what has been done in this field. My second question is, yes I can look it up in Google, but if you wish to recommend any big turboprop aircraft addons (free or pay) for FS2004 can you please do so here? Thanks in advance.

Question. I'm setup to download RW WX in FS9 and sometimes get the message "unable to download real world weather..." As you may know, if you are flying, a dialog box pops up waiting for an OK from the user. Generally, this is no big deal since If I'm sitting at the PC I just hit OK and move on. BUT on a long-haul flight, like last night, I was not at the PC. Question is, does the sim pause or does the plane still fly in the "background". I'm not sure how long the sim was in this state, but when I cleared the message, it seemed that I did not lose any ground. If the sim DOES pause with the message, is there a way to disable the message? Thanks in advance!

I always look forward to the latest copy of Computer Pilot Magazine cause I always learn something new from it. I also save my old copies for re-reading. Yesterday on a RA flight back from San Diego to ATL, in an old issue I found a utility that was mentioned in the magazine that looks for duplicate textures in FS 2002 and FS9. Add on sceneries sometimes load multiple copies of the same texture which slows the MSFS loading time down. I downloaded the file this morning and ran it and it found 69 duplicate textures. It does it safely , since it makes a backup in case you want to return the files to their original location. In the Avsim 2004 Utility directory. find_all…

Spent the kids' inheritance on fancy new computer, configured hopefully for best fs9 experience. Frame rates superb, but I'm bugged by that accursed shimmer. I had it licked on my old computer, but the same settings on my new one don't reduce it. After days of juggling, the best I can arrive at is by keeping AA at 4, reducing AF from 8 to 4, and increasing mipmap from 4 to 7. But that's a compromise, and and there's still enough shimmer to be a distraction. I begin to wonder if maybe that could be down to my new LCD monitor with all its pixels firing away - but outside fs9, the picture is extremely sharp. If anyone out there who has conquered the shimmer problem could …

Has anyone experienced the same - set all of PERF MGMT and NAV DATA (CRZ ALT, weights, EOD etc.), do automatic CLIMB (CL1), FMS displays CLIMB ARMED, when reaching CRZ ALT with VNAV AP goes from VNAV to ALT fine, but FMS stays in CLIMB. Sometimes it works and goes to CRUISE, sometimes it doesn't. Same happens when you do a step climb. Any takers?

I am a huge fan of the CRJ aircraft, but can't use the one I already have, namely, Feel There's version, which crashes FS9 after 5 minutes of using it. Hence, I think I'll buy Sky Deck's CRJ panel and use it with another CRJ model. Any recommendations as to what currently the best CRJ model is?thanksricardo

I see the new BEV scenery will now be released on Sat at noon. It's going to be pouring rain here in Northern Virginia on Friday so can't golf and was hoping for an earlier release. Oh well! I'll just have to continue flying with the old stuff for another day. Cheers!Jim

Want to earn a little bit of respect from the various flightsim communities?Put out limited Demo of the C-130 like MAAM-Sim did with the B-25.Let people try it before they decide to fork over that inordinate amount of money.

Quick question:I've downloaded a new sound file for Sky Deck's CRJ panel, unfortunately, the file didn't come with any install instructions. The file itself contains a bunch of wave files and a sound.cfg. Where do I move these files to?thanksricardo
