Captain Sim announced the price of the Herc, and it is $51.30. Does anyone else find the staggering price increases in FS addons alarming? I mean seriously, an addon under 30 bucks these days is a rarity, and I applaud Dream Fleet and FSD for keeping their prices with in reason. 50+ dollars for the PMDG 747 I can understand, due to the increadably in depth nature of the aircraft. I don't own it, probably because the price tag, but it is a must have for any jumbo pilot. But it seems everything now days is really pushing the limits. Hello,I've a Navdata probelm with my FS9.1Here is a picture, taken at BIKF:http://i.domaindlx.com/sebilen/bikf.jpgYou can see the ND (PMDG 737), the RWY 02 and the white lines, which are exactley the extensions of the Runway. The ND says, that the aircraft isn't on the Centerline, which you can see at the extension of RWY 02. But in the Flight Simulator I'm exactly on ther Centerline.I've the problem at many other airports too, like EDDF, LEPA, RJBB...In the comparison, here a picture of KJFK:http://i.domaindlx.com/sebilen/kjfk.jpgI haven't got any problems there.I fly the PMDG with the actual AIRAC 0510.Any ideas ?

Good Day!I have a question about landing the SR22 when the chute has been deploye after engine failure.Is there anyway to slow the decent rate at the last second to allow for a smoother touchdown when making contact with the ground?My last flight the simulation crashed the aircraft (burried 1/2 into the ground) when touching down over a flat surface with the chute deployed. If this had been an actual landing of the SR22 this way, the pilot would have been seriously hurt or worse.I know the flight controls are somewhat effect during glide-down with the chute deployed, but exactly what is the correct procedure to have the SR22 land on it's wheels and stay there without be b…

The other day I decided to take the IFDG airbus up for a spin (actually ended up flying real-time from SFO to Dulles). But I nearly fell out of my chair when my fps--even in the 2-d cockpit view, only managed to float in the 10-12 range. Granted I have an old P3/800, but I've already made the compromises I needed to average 25 fps or so. Why the drop in fps? Was it time for my first reinstall of MSFS? Was I hit with the dreaded unexplained fps hit?For some reason, I toggled the lights and suddenly all was smooth and blissful. FPS at 25, where I have locked the sim. Hi,I want to create realtime flights for my home airport.I have the timetables accurate to within 10 minutes, but I need to have them in a format for inserting into TT tools.I have been told its possible to do with MS Access. My first experience with the Microsoft Flight Simulator series was in 1992 or so. I think it was either version 4 or 5. It was installed on a computer at my school. I flew with it whenever I could sneak in when the teacher was away. My next experience came several years later with FS98. But at that stage I was more interested in wargaming, and so I never really explored it much. Like some other people here, I've been experiencing the annoying phenomenon of deteriorating/missing textures, of both a/c and scenery. It usually happened after FS2004 had been running for some time, and required a complete system reboot.I tried just about everything to no avail (AGP aperture size, AGP speed, video-drivers and/or DirectX reinstall/change to different versions, memory/CPU management options, etc).Then I think I finally found a solution:.Install Ati Tray Tools (Google to find them).Enter its "Standard Tweaks" menu.UNCHECK "Fast Z Clear Enable" and "Z Mask Enable".CHECK "Z Top Disable"(Maybe just one of the 3 is the significant one, but I haven't experiment…

Does anyone know of a web site or organization that has virtual flight instructors?I have used the gates.to program (http://gates.to/) and it is a really neat program. I thought that with this program, it would make it possible to have those interested in teaching people how to fly a great resource for the flight community. One thing that I find very dissappointing in FS2004 is the lack of perspective .For example, in outside view, unless you are parked close to a known size object ( like a car or a person) or parked maybe in a GA a/c alongside a jet, it is very hard to get an idea of its real life size. So for example, I was not aware of the true size of a Pilatus PC12 until I saw one at an airshow.Also, when flying from the VC, say in a PC12, you don't get a feel for the size of the cockpit compared to say a Cesssna 182.Is this maybe a matter of what zoom factor you choose? I usually select 75%.Barry

Hi, Does anybody know of a site where I could get some help on CS's 707? I bought it and feel extremely disapointed at their lack of proper documentiation, apparrently sub standard product quality, and lack of suppport. Up to right now, this product looks like a joke to me. I even woner why they even bother to make it; we'll I do have a theory though: to catch suckers like me! I am not looking forward to the Herc from this past experience! ( I had it similar as I remember from the 727 :( )Any help would be appreciated.regards,Macs.

I love this program, I can finally do what I've wanted to for a long time, make airports come alive. I have almost finished adding planes, people, trucks, etc to most of the airports (30+) that will be covered in the upcoming Pacific NW MegaScenery area as I live in the Seattle area. But I have 2 questions, 1) Would anyone be interested in my posting the scenery here on AVSIM when I'm done? and 2) Is there a place that Rwy12 users are getting together to exchange ideas and help?

I'm doing a little homework on this aircraft. So far I've found Mike Stone's aircraft (with exceptional repaints by Henry William) and payware versions by Alphasim UK (FS2004) and Abacus Publishing (FS2002). I've also found one from the Catalina Group of New Zealand (FS2002) which is designed by the same legendary team of Brian Horsey and Harry Follas who produced so much good freeware stuff in the good old days of FS98 including, indeed, a Catalina at that time.Do any of you web-footed types have any comment on these different variations? Microsoft don't seem to want to try and get the best of the best. They never contacted anyone I knew and offered a job. As a result we never saw a better aircraft or better anything really that's down to a specific talent or skill set.The tables are tuning now and there is talk of a new flight simulator maybe.Are there any Ex FS team developers or any whiz kids on the block.Contact me privately and see what's on offer. I was playing around with the flight plans that come included with the 747. I loaded JFKBOS001 into the FMC. I then got a RNW LOAD ERROR. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to remedy? Thank you.

i just installed rwy 12 v1.2 and i d/l some scenery pakt, and i can see the new stuff that rwy12 is adding, but its on top of the existing scenery buildingshow do i fix that?thanksciao!Brian S

Hi All, Ok this problem is slowly doing my head in! Im running-Windows XP pro on- 3.2 Athlon, Gigabyte 400 board, 512meg 3200 ddr ram, 256 meg ATI X800 xt card, 180gig drive. Loaded up flight sim last week and have been plagued with this problem, My pc runs this game lovely in the air only!! As soon as i try to taxi on the runway she crawls down to a very very slow frame rate?!? iv had the new 9.1 update and it has made no changes. have got new dierctx9.0c plus all up to date drivers, I dont have any problems running any other games they all seem to run fine. Any ideas Anyone??

A few times now, I'm following an approach pattern given to me by ATC, but they keep me at 10,000ft until I'm on final approach.. then clear me to land giving me about 10nm to drop 10K.If I try to decend early, the controller keeps ordering me back upto 10K.Happened at a few airports.Is this duff MSFS ATC?? or am I doing something wrong?
