last week i thought i'd try FS Host thinking it was a multiplayer server by itself. was i suprised to see a bunch of multiplayer servers pop up out of it. i think it's pretty good. many good servers there with a mature group of people flying. there are also quite a few ATC servers also. an alternative to vatsim for those who have problems getting hooked up and don't know the ATC procedures like myself. they all seem like a good group of people who are willing to help on the spot. teamspeak is another good program that works well with it. again, a no brainer to get running. anyway, for those who don't know about FS Host and want to fly online, check it out. if vatsim is…

In my attempts at realism, I will download an approach chart for a specific runway at my destination airport. In reality, doesn't a pilot need to have all possible charts depending on what runway ATC assigns for landing? Also, if the pilot changes his destination due to weather, would he not also need all the charts for alternative airports? If all these charts are necessary, then where do real pilots get them all?

  3. I'm posting this in a new message rather then the original topic.Becaues I just want to let potential buyers know that I was wrong about the piper meridian from flight1. After trying the suggestions of pd400(I hope that is the name) and JeanLuc which involved disabling HT on my system. This plane is so smooth it is too smooth(if ever such a thing could be consider bad ;) ) Thank you guys for your help. I'm getting an average of 31 fps in the VC with no stutters whatsoever :D I am one happy camper, and I will be keeping this plane. I hope all those who tried this plane and did not get good performance would give it another shot; especially if the have a HT based system. Lo…

I had mentioned this a while back in the general fs room but thought it might be useful here----------------I found that with the default eyepoint location in the B737-200 VC that the control column obstructs the HSI. I altered my aircraft.cfg to have the following replacement in the view sectioneyepoint=33.0,-1.7,3.8You can just zoom out a bitI'll do the same to the B727-100 and B727-200 later. The B747 looks ok to me

Hi Guy's! I know this has been asked several times before?. And I did a search, but want maybe some fresh answers to a fix? I was flying the LVLD 767-300 from SFO-HNL, with ActiveSkyV weather, and AI Traffic. Now the Take-off from SFO was nice and pretty smooth. I started to decend Into HNL, Which is Pretty Cloudy, And Under the Cloud's On Finals to HNL Intl Rnwy 8L, I got some real bad Stutters! I mean so Bad that I could Not even Fly the Approach by hand! And It made the Plane so Uncontorllable, That I crashed since it was stuttering so BAD! Now I want to know what would Cause this? I Know Clouds are a Big FPS HIT! And I run the Clouds that Came with the Default ActiveS…

  7. I've created a flightplan in FSNAV and exported it to FS9, then loaded that flight plan; selected the piper and I noticed that the flightplan is not in the GPS. I then created the same flightplan via FS9's default planner then selected it; and it was not in the GPS neither. Is this not supported on the RXP Garmins???(I'm sure it is) I look throught manual and the tutorial; but they only talk about entering in manual flightplans directly into the Garmin 530.I'm sure I'm missing something hear; can anyone enlighten me??

As I am enjoying mt FsPassengers add on so much I decided to go HEAVY metal, and start earning/losing BIG money!(loL) So, default 747 with add on nice panel. What causes default 747 to take off like a Nasa Rocket, with AOA almost vertical.A/P does nothing but increase ROC to stall levels within seconds. All A/P settings are reasonable (ROC +800)and speeds locked in to around 240. Flaps are set reasonably etc etc.CG is OK around centre with fuel evened out around tanks.I must be forgetting something.....not at all unusual nowadays.Any advice on any other 747 that is freeware? Thanks,

Just landed at Singapore's Changi (WSSS) airport flying the Posky 747-400 and it's as though I've touched down on a deeply corrugated dirt road! The wheels are bouncing severly, causing the wings to flap alarmingly. Is this normal for that airport? If not, is there a fix as I intend to use this airport regularly.Marty

Well, I guess it's time to see if anyone else has issues with this sort of thing.Today, while flying the COA Birthday Bash, I encountered yet again a problem that has started plaguing me... and unfortunately I wasn't paying attention at first when it started, but it's been doing this for at least a month or two.I can fly fine for roughly an hour or so. After that, the sim begins to stutter. Oh, it's not bad at first... say 1 stutter every 5 seconds or so. But as the flight progresses, it progressively gets worse and worse and worse, until it's so bad that I no longer even have a framerate. The sim doesn't necessarily lock up, there's just no more "sim". If I'm on VAT…

I am trying to introduce some realism into my flying, and after downloading the current metars for a flight this afternoon, i am wondering if it would be accepatble to fly in conditions as this :-I am planning a trip from Blackpool (EGNH) To Stornoway (EGPO) but the conditions at EGPO are bad winds 23 kts, Visibility is ok at 10 miles. In general terms what would be considered acceptable conditions to fly in.

I have found in the past and just noticed it again today, sometimes you get a duplicate display section in the fs9.cfg fileI was looking all over for why my game might be crashing and freezing, and found the duplicate entry.Maybe this can help some other people who are stumped as to why their game acts bizzare.

Noted on the front page of AVSIM:http://www.reality-xp.com/products/ST3400/index.htmI imagine there are going to be some early adopters of this new gauge here in the near future and would like to hear your comments on it. How smooth is it? Is it a resource hog?

With what some times seems like so much negative trash on our forums these days, if it is permitted by the powers that be, I would like to say the following:This is in reference to my "CTD/Bad bgl find in Misty Fjords" post made a few minutes ago. You might want to peek at it to see what instigated these words, and/or go to the Misty Fjords forum for the full communication.will assure you that I am not connected with anything that is for sale by anybody, just another of you with the plastic. If everything posted on these forums, and the support given by all suppliers (and certainly what we users have to say for that matter) was as courteous, quick, helpful, and objective a…

Important announcement...BEV USACANADA Volume 1 Delayed...Although the textures are finished and we certainly had planned to make our release date, after some feverish work and testing of the BEV Configurator we found some last minute bugs that have made a delay necessary. Since the BEV Configurator is such an intricate part of the release it is my decision to postpone the release of "BEV USACANADA Volume 1 Summer" since it would be reckless to release the BEV Configurator along with the BEV textures to the public today.BEV will be released during the first week of October allowing our programmer efficient time to complete the BEV Configurator to the highest standard expe…

The following was found to be the cause of a crash to desktop in the Misty Fjords area that may happen to you. Thanks to the fast and kind support by Holgar and Francois (As usual), I was able to isolate a bad bgl file.Flight: Flying from KLWB to PASI, 63 DME from YYD and 133 DME to YZP on J510, I repeatedly had a CTD in the Eaglesoft Citation at 40,000 feet. I'm wondering why some of my aircrafts show up with blurry textures, that vanish when I cycle through the views. So it is not a problem in the aircraft itself, a video card issue, maybe - but only a few aircrafts behave this way.Are there any tweaks I can do or tests to perform to get rid of this problem?Has anyone else experienced it?

Advanced pilots. This question for you. In FS2004 spoilers armed by SHIFT+/ deploy automatically when a jet touches down the runway (in the real world it is ok too). Then (in FS2004) spoilers are beeing retracted also automatically after thrust reversers are disengaged. Is it true in the real world? Or it is usually done by co-pilot in the real world and FS2004 just simulates this? Thanks in advance.
