I was curious if there was some thing that would cause me to have to relearn how to fly the 747-400 in the newer version, or if all of the updates were things like systems and features rather than controls?

Hello, Today I updated my PMDG 747 QOTSII and all of sudden my scenery is messed up. I'm not blaming anyone here, it could just be pure coincidence. Below you can find some pictures which clearly show my problem. The only scenery add-on I'm using is Orbx's Iceland Demo. These pictures were taken around Las Vegas, so I don't think it has anything to do with it. Other add-ons I use: - REX 4 - Active Sky Next - GSX Any advice on how to solve this issue? Thanks!

Hi there, I am trying to bind my keyboard keys to FSX light panels with the standard.xml file but i have some trouble. I know there is other software which will make things easier like FSuipc but i want to do it for free. I have read many post and sites on how to config the standard.xml files but it just does not seem to work for me. Every time when i start FSX it also creates a new file called " Standard.xmlx" and i have no idea what it does. i hope that you guys can help me out. hi , i have a big probleme with the pmdg opreation center and the 747V3 , when i want to update the plane i have a message : impossible to continue the action be sure the vcruntime140.dll is well installed. and the second is the same for the msvcp140.dll and i run operation center as administrator

I found out that the , allows you to turn the wheel while on the ground, but... Am I supposed to hold it? How do I manage the throttle AND hold the key? I can't turn manage the throttle, and turn I need 3 hands for that. Is there a way to make it so that pressing it locks it until you press it again?

Gday Avsim Team, new member and first post. Firtly thanks to all who have contributed here, the forum has solved half a dozen or more issues already for me. After finally getting a proper pc setup after purchasing FSX almost a decade ago, Ive gone head first into it. Done the tweaks as suggested in the AVSIM basic FSX pdf. added some orbx and Ozx scenery and wondering if this picture below is the best im going to get for flying around victoria Australia. I hate to sound stupid (my wife might say that I seem to like it as I do it every day) but I just saw something I didn't know existed in FSX. I was at FSDG's wonderful scenery of NUUK Greenland, about to take off in the Aerosoft Twotter when off to the side I saw a helicopter make an absolutely realistic take-off and transition to level flight. I had no idea that this was possible in FSX. One of the things I miss from FS9 is HeliTraffic 2009 and thought that the AI helo part of the sim experience was now gone. The Nuuk scenery comes with an AI package and this was obviously part of it. So my stupid statement is now followed by what is probably a stupid question. How …

Hello everyone. The other day I flew from MacAllen, Texas to Houston. I was struck by the fact that when I was flying over the Gulf of Mexico, both in the views around the plane and in the satellite view, the sea did not appear. I must have the bad global maps. How can I correct or update them?

One of the neat effects while flying is the sun shining into the cockpit while the aircraft is turning. How is that effect produced? Can this effect be produced in FSX? Thanks! Airbus

When flying one of my PMDG jets, at addon as well as default airports I have a problem with some times missing runway textures, and or skeleton or missing buildings. At the departure airport all seems well, but at the destination this problem occurs. With A2A aircraft no problem. JUST ngx, t7 and 747V3. Must be a VAS ISSUE? It,s like the entire airport doesn't load. ON Steam, Opus camera, ASN, Orbyx Globel, NA Land class and Vector. Any suggestions? Thanks, Vic G.

I have tried at the Aerosoft and Orbyx sites to get an answer to this problem but without success. Has anyone succeeded in getting the Aerosoft BIKF scenery to work with the Orbyx regional scenery Iceland? It's an elevation problem and I've tried all the usual remedies without success - adjusting the AFCAD, flatten file etc. Can anyone help me with this? Cheers Ian

Overnight someone snuck into my PC and took all the liveries I had. All my AC are now pure white. This includes the FS planes, and any freeware addon I had. I have searched the internet for a solution and found none. Yes, the box is checked at the bottom to show all variations. I uninstalled FSX. did a double virus scan and then reinstalled along with SP1 and SP2 and still no color anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong?? I have FSX and FS9 installed on the same W7 machine (32 bit) and have never had any problems like this in the past. FS9 runs fine.

Hello I have just purchased this plane. It flies excellent, but I cannot refuel it. Neither the FSX refuel menu, nor the Dispatch option work. In the latter, all three tanks are full (green), but the needles in the cockpit still show almost zero. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Csaba

.bgls in FSX\Addon Scenery\scenery\scenery do not control displays in FSX-SE. I have to make a folder in \Addon Scenery to hold the bgl to show properly ( otherwise the default scenery shows.) I believe several scenery designers suggust \scenery\scenery as destination folder for their bgls. This does not seem to work in my case. Any comments\suggestions ? Dave Hinson

I've noticed when I go to the external cameras in Chase Plane there are no sounds in some not all of my planes. I don't know what the normal is so if you can fill me in I would appreciate it. Thanks

I have UT USA right now and I'm thinking of getting a few more for the real world weather and weather textures clouds etc. Also I have thought of mesh for the USA to complement UT. Here's what I'm thinking of getting. Ultimate Traffic 2, REX Essential, Active Sky and FSG 10m mesh for the USA. So for the scenery and weather I listed, will these addons make the experience more realistic? And with REX, there are a few different products, is the one I listed the best or the right one? Have just tried to start FSX, and on clicking the desktop icon, it says "Open file location", instead of the usual 'Open". When I click on that, a small window opens that says "Windows cannot find the target" I haven't changed anything since the last time I used it, except I have been having start problems with the computer itself. Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, FSX Acceleration Cheers.

Hi all, after reinstalling window 7, the aircraft are fragmented in both fsx and fs9. while installing fs9 it asked for dx9, could not install over dx11. while installing fsx it asked for the english version. ive had this game for 10 years. i know at times i am idiotic , but this very confusing, any help. thanks

Can someone please tell me where to find which add on aircraft for FSX are compatible with which Flight1 Garmin GPS's. I really like the 750 but I am not sure which aircraft it will fit in. Is the 650 the same but with a smaller screen. Are some only compatible with the 530/430? I have a lot of questions but apparently you cannot get on the forum until you purchase the product. I do not intend to purchase the product until I can get simple questions answered. What happens if the panels are installed but you want to use default FSX flight plan? Is that possible? Does anyone know where I can get some of my questions answered. Thank You.

Hi i was wondering is EFB compatible with steam edition because i installed the trial and could not setup up EFB with steam edition... i couldnt find the right areas to make it work... Has anyone managed to get it working with SE? If so how... Please help me haha Conrad Collinson
