I normally fly with the recirc fan off - just because I prefer not to hear the airflow sound. Would the recirc fan being off affect any aircraft systems such as cockpit temperature, co-pilot window fogging/icing, pressurization? BR, Mike

Hey guys I´m having some troubles with the shaders on FSX. As you can see on the image above, the aircraft sahders look really bad. I don´t know what is happening but it is shure I´m getting mad with it.

I recently reinstalled FSX-SE after an absence of about a year. When I was using it a year ago, I purchased several products that promised various improvements to the FSX experience. Some were not SE compatible and some I installed but was never sure if they made things better, worse or just did nothing. I have downloaded the latest versions of them and am considering reinstalling them but would appreciate feedback from any users. Steam users only please as want to be sure they aren't going to screw up my installation and in this case what works in the boxed version may not work with Steam. Whenever I attempt to get a US alternate airport accepted on my MD-11 FMS INIT page (after the primary flight plan is accepted), FSX freezes and ultimately shuts down (the infamous blue circle!). This only happens at US airports. I can have a FP accepted at a European airport, add any alternate airport (including Kxxx locations) and it is accecpted. But, when I am sitting on a US runway with a FP accepted and try to add a US alternate, FSX shuts down. I have tried MANY work-around possibilities, but my MD-11 FMS (and FSX) will simply not accept a Kxxx alternate, if it is attempted while the plane is sitting on a US field. "Working" because all freeware versions of the AS350 helicopter I found for FSX have rotor blade textures that disappear behind clouds and autogen obejcts. So the rotor blades disappear almost the entire time. My very best wishes to you, Patrick

Hi all. Has anyone experienced problems in Fsx Steam changing backwards and forwards between full and windowed mode using the alt/enter keys. I never did until recently. This problem appears to have started around the time that I changed back from Dx10 to dx9 after using Steve's fixer. I also updated my Nvidia graphics driver at that time. I have discussed this with Steve who assures me that his fixer shouldn't cause the issue and am currently in the process of trying an earlier driver to see what happens. Basically what is happening is that my vc cockpit will disappear or only leave sections of it showing. Externally, I get a flying cockpit and a pair of wings. Som…

Hello all EDDK 24 is not showing in FSC, or EFB, It is showing in FSX since I have GAP 2. I have updated the latest AIRCAC 1703 for PFPX, EFB & FSC. But PFPX still sets me up departing from 24 and there is no 25 option... Thanks for your help! Maniac59

Hi, I'm stuck with flight planning because I cannot see any fuel burn numbers in any of the aircraft I have! Am I missing something in the Nav Log or something? I generally fly A2A GA planes, plus the Twin Otter and Flight 1 Islander, as well as a few Carenados and the default airliners. I know how far I want to fly, and I want to carry enough fuel to cover that plus reserves, but nowhere can I find the fuel consumption numbers I need. Do you think referring to real eorld figures would be reliable ...?

Can anyone tell me what the current situation is at Athens Airport with regards to the terminal allocations for the airlines serving the airport? I believe that there is section A which is the left half of the main terminal building then on the right side is B What im confused about is what areas are A1, A2, A3 & A4 and then B1, B2, B3 & B4 Lastly are the satellite gates being used in real life these days? Id like to install a nice reshade effect for ever into FSX. Its the "TECHNICOLOR" effect under ENABLE EFFECTS/COLOR in reshade´s MasterEffect.h file but dont know hw to do it. Can someone help me? Thanks

Hi guys, I have make recently a fresh install of fsx, then i installed the new 747 pmdg.My question is, can i install the 737 of pmdg ? I use the 600 so i have to install the base package but it just to know if there is a dll conflict or bug in fsx with thoses 2 great planes ? Other question if this possible, can i take the airac folder of the 747 for my 737 ? Thanks

Hi All, Sorry if I'm wrong section but couldn't see anywhere that I thought was apropriate than here. I am currently reading FSX Real world training. In here it's says that the trim should be set forward (noose down). Is that right? I would have thought noose up to help the climb. i am using the piper cub to learn. any advice is welcome. Please see attached a picture from the book if you can read it.

JustFlight's Fokker F27 was just released. Anyone tried it yet? I'm almost about to buy it but previous experience with JustFlight products (Dc-6, Constellation, Viscount etc) puts me off. I wonder if this one may be better though?

Morning Simmers, I am currently investigating a CTD issue which I believe FSRealtime maybe responsible for. I am about to run a test flight and will let you know the results. For some strange reason the user guide is not working for me and never has. Does anyone have any experience with this utility? Has anyone experienced the same CTD issue? It appears to occur during the time sync when FSX loads air, land and sea traffic. This will be done intermittently throughout the flight with no time increase. It will load fine the majority of the time however, inevitably, at some point during the flight it will take a long time to load and then CTD. The way I am usi…

I have two new SSD drives (250 GB and 500 GB) and acquired a brand new copy of FSX Gold. I not sure where it would be best to install FSX and its addons across multiple drives. I was thinking of installing FSX on the "C" drive (not in "Program Files") and the addons on the other SSD. My FSX folder is 238 GB and another drive has over 40 GB of various addons. These two drives with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit will be dedicated to FSX only and are in quick hot swap slots. I also have three other slower drives of 1 to 2 TB each. Hello everybody, does anybody know the improvements of the update-Version 1.4 of the Flight 1 b200i aircraft in comparison to version 1.3? I intend to buy this awsome bird. I had over 250 saved flights in my FSX system. Yesterday when I booted FSX none of those saved flights were shown. Thinking that I might be able to recover a software glitch I did a "restore", but the files are still missing. Using MS Explorer I find that all of the flights are still in the appropriate folder. It appears that FSX cannot find and load them for some reason. All other aspects of FSX seem to funtion as they should. Has anyone else had this problem, and found a work-around to restore those files? Thanks in advance!

After installing Orbx's just released NRM patch 001 I booted up fsx only to receive this msg, " Living World settings in LWcfg.xml are invalid. Please delete LWcfg.xml from your hidden user profile directory." The only Lw.cfg file I can locate is in my "users/john/app data/roaming/microsoft/ fsx" folder and it is called "LWcfg.SPB. I deleted this file and received the same msg upon re-booting fsx. I have never installed the fsx demo. I finally tried repairing fsx using the original discs and after the repair routine was complete I restarted fsx only to receive the same msg about the LWcfg.xml file. Where is this file? I am curious why when I save a flight with an external view and make it the default, when I load it the view is always inside the virtual cockpit. But if I do not check it as the default view then when I load it the view is the external view I saved it as. Is there a way to force FSX to load the default view as it has been saved?

Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I am running FSX boxed SP2, DX10 with Steve's fixer and cloud shadows. I have changed planes multiple times and it seems to not be related to the aircraft. When taxiing, there is a large rectangular "shadow" that moves just in front of aircraft. It's wider than the field of vision when looking forward and seems about 100 yards deep or so and remains stationary when the eye view is panned (plane remaining stationary). It's not shaped like the aircraft, in the attached photo you can see a portion of the aircraft's actual ground shadow. Turning shadows on/off for plane and/or ground do not affect it, it remains.
