Hello everyone, I recently noticed that the PMDG 747 v3 has it and the FSLabs A320 has it as well: fading engine sounds with altitude, sounding extremely close to the real thing. This was a feature where a few years ago people were telling us it will never be possible due to FSX sound limitations. It was actually something that bothered me to this day when soundpacks make me hear the hum of the engine fans at FL350 throughout cruise, because anyone who ever flew for real knows its not that way. After years of relatively stable operations I've run into a problem that seems to occur to a few of us but which I have not been able to find a fix. The problem is "long pauses" where FSX DX-10 freezes for 5 to 10 seconds and then resumes. I've done extensive on-line research and tried all of the possible fixes I could find but none have solved the problem. These included 1. Run DXTFIXERX to fix any texture files without alpha channels (or something to that effect) 2. Reduced the graphics sliders 3. Tried numerous fsx.cfg tweaks 4. Delete fsx.cfg and let a new one be built on startup 5. Disabled hyperthread mode in BIOS 6. Disable…

I've tried on several occasions to become accustomed to VC's. I just don't like them. I always feel like a handicapped person using artificial means to accomplish simple tasks. I see YouTube videos of simmers panning around, zooming in and out, and taking 30 seconds to locate one switch. I find it impossible to find one set view (even in cruise) that allows a scan where all instruments are readable, and still allows for a forward view outside the cockpit. I've resorted to taking the modern 3D only products, making my own 2D panel bmp, and overlaying the available 2D gauges in pop-up windows. I do all my pre-flight and shut-down in VC, and the actual flying in 2D. …

Hi, guys, do you know where can I find the livery of Asiana for this Merge?

I have been trying to remove all vestiges of FSX from my system in order to reinstall it. I uninstalled it through Programs and Features. However, it still appears as a shortcut on my front screen. In addition, there appears to be some leftover software because FSX still spools up when I press RUN; and the ALT and VS indicators light up on my Saitek Pro Flight Multi Panel. The FSX box then promptly disappears and nothing else happens. The ALT and VS light indicators remain lit. I have Revo Uninstaller Pro on my system to uninstall software. However, I do not see anything there for FSX. How can I otherwise remove the remainder of any FSX software parts from my system?

Hi all: I'm asking this question here as I just can't figure out how to register on their web page to ask them. So I purchased the aircraft and installed it. All went smooth. Then I ran the configurator and selected the F1 GTN 750 option. I own the F1 GTN and have it installed on numerous aircraft. The C182 shows up on the F1 GTN configurator. So everything looks good. Checking the panel folder, everything looks ok there. The aircraft loads fine and looks good except it is showing the default GPS instead of the GTN. I've tried reinstalling it and I've searched through the A2A forum with no success. So has anyone seen this, or have any ideas? Thanks

I am looking for a Cessna 206 which works in FSX and Prepar3d. Or a lookalike c206/c207. On one hand I found the Carenado 206 and the Alabeo 207. I have bought the latter. They look pretty good. Switches work. Yet I am not so sure of their realistic behaviour. On the otherhand is the freeware Flightport 206 Soloy Mk1. Which does not look shabby either. To be honest the Alabeo 207 looks a bit better. But I have the impression that the Flightport 206 flies a bit more realistic. Is it only the idea that I have that the Flightport flies better, or is it more realistic? I have searched a lot of forums. But could not find a hint in the right direction. …

Hi again all, I have recently assigned all my controls to FSUIPC, the reason is that every time there was an update to win.10 the controls on FSX would default to basic superseding the ones I had put in. There is however a problem with this, I have found that when I fly Leonardo's Maddog if I wish to alter the engine power settings with the auto throttle engaged I am unable to do so, with FSX controlling the inputs this is possible(as in RW), is there a way of setting this in FSUIPC? I would much rather use FSUIPC for all my controls as they have remained constant in spite of win.10 interference. mog

I need a good flight planner, so I'm getting PFPX. I also need a good way to calculate the assumed temperature for takeoff. Does PFPX do this alone or do I need TOPCAT? If PFPX doesn't do it alone, what should I do? Are there any good and cheap alternatives to TOPCAT about $5-10 USD? Or should I get TOPCAT and use a good and cheap alternative to PFPX, around $25 USD? Thanks

HI! I have been using FSX SE for awhile now and never really had a problem. I usualy run a solid fps of around 17-25 FPS and was wondering how I could tweak my fsx to be better. My specs are below and I know they are not so good. I know im gonna get told get a better pc but I cant. I am seeking anyone who would like to help in tweaking fsx to be better and basically any advice. My specs: Intel® Core™ i5-6200U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.80 GHz) Intel® HD Graphics 520 8 GB of RAM 64 bit operating system

I understand that when derating the engines we have to enter an assumed temperature (unless I'm wrong), but I see all these YouTubers entering it into the FMC but I don't understand how to calculate the assumed temperature myself. I'm not willing to spend money on a program like TOPCAT that does it automatically, but are there any good freeware programs or websites that will do it?

My recently installed FSX SE has been successfully operating the PMDG 737NGX however recently the configuration of the throttle levers on my Saitek Controller has the engines in full power mode on start up and control is very erratic. I have tried a number of times to reconfigure the axis on the controller without success. Has anyone experienced this and what is the solution. Mark

Hello All So I was looking through Wilco's website today, and I saw that the E-Jets v1, the Embraer 170 and 190, were on sale. However, I'm not quite sure if it's compatible with Windows 10 because there was a spreadsheet on the Wilco website (link below) which claimed it was not compatible with Win10 and FSX-SE. In the absence of real VR or the real thing there are a few programs I consider must haves to make the FSX (most apply to P3D or XP) experience all that more real. AccuFeel - Some 3rd party addons aircraft are well modeled as far as aerodynamics are concerned. Carenado comes to mind. They dip and move with the wind - as it should be. Other aircraft feel like they are on rails with no deviation other than the dead zone or your hand and the amount of shake you impart to the yoke. Accufeel makes each of the aircraft feel as though they are man made, fallible things. Besides the sound aspect which it adds to immensely, there is a "feel" imparted by Accufeel that mak…

Hello all, for some unknown reason my PMDG MD-11 is not aligning the IRS, when im the gate / parking will show aligned after a few but after entering the flight plan, push back and start taxiing for some reason the IRS will request to be aligned again, any ideas why this happen? thanks. In trying to replicate my very first 747-400 flight on Garuda, in 96, which flew EHAM to Medan Polonia(WIMM), I downloaded a freeware Medan airport from BDOAviation, but so far no response from them as to why this is happening. Hello, I've added some new fixed position cameras at the end of a few runways to the camera.cfg file, which give a nice experience such as a plane spotter has. The problem is that, configured as normal cameras, they are active and available in the menu all the time - even when flying on the other end of the world. With a lot of guessing involved, I copied an entry for setting up an instance based camera (e.g. the runway cameras that only show up when you're in the area / "Runway" from cameras.cfg), edited a little and hoped they would work... which turned out to be an illusion. I'm trying to set up some FSUIPC bindings with my Saitek throttle quadrants using a couple of the switches under the levers. What I would like to do is have the engine CUTOFF / IDLE levers under the 737 throttle levers bound via FSUIPC to switches but I can't seem to find the right description to select in the drop down menu in the 'Control sent when button pressed' section of FSUIPC. good day everybody, I have a question with my scenery list. in youre fsx settings, you can choose what scenery addon you want to put at numer 1,2,3 etc.. and i don't know what to put at 1,2,3 etc. what rankordering do i have to do? I'm using ftx global, innsbruck airport (ORBX), flytampa amsterdam and dubai, aerosoft heatrhow extended. do I have to put the ftx global firtst or the airport scenery? thanks in advanced for youre help!

In my simmarket account for CYYC, there is a patch installer, but no instructions for it. It installs itself to a different directory than the scenery, do I have to manually move the files over? The developer has not returned my questions.

I have flown the Q400 Pro Edition quite often since purchasing it in November 2016 through the Real Flight Shop website. I love "cold and dark" procedures and have that panel state set in the Control Panel to load for every trip unless it is a continuing throughput flight. This morning I loaded up at Kelowna, British Columbia for a Horizon flight to Seattle on VATSIM. Since it was my first flight of the day I ran through the appropriate checklists applicable for a first/originating flight and then started number two off the APU during pushback and number 1 after pushback was complete. Why do you prefer the aircraft you fly the most? Some I like more since I have flown them in the past in the real world. Others because I am curious what they are like. That starts a new issue - some flight models are more realistic than others. I have one Hawker that rides on a rail, no turbulence ever. Set a bug, heading or altitude and it goes straight to the dialed in numbers. I have another that bounces on the runway and suffers from burbles while in flight.
