So... I was flying the PMDG 737-800 from Atlanta to Orlando. As I was climbing through 25,000 ft, I noticed that the plane was not producing any contrails. I checked the temperature, and it was at about -40 degrees celsius, while the Total Air Temperature was at -8 degrees celsius. Keep in mind that I typically see contrails at this point. Just to make sure that it's not the PMDG, I hopped into the F-18 that comes with the simulator at the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility (KTTS). As it turned out, that didn't produce any contrails either, even as I went up through 35,000 feet. There are a huge number of posts about the program called "Couatl" which is installed to manage a range of sceneries, mostly FSDT but also Sky Beam and others. The posts are a jumble of claims and counter-claims and seem to have attracted an awful lot of hostility. So although I know there are many answers already "out there," they are confusing and probably unreliable. Can I ask a few "sane" members for some guidance on this? Greetings, 1.i am practicing the vor dme approach with calm wind. i am using aerosoft extended in fsx steam.i am flying the approach in managed mode. when i activate the APP button , the aircraft turns towards the vor but i am always to the left or right of vor station ,not in line with the vor station flying the approach course as stated in approach plate . the aircaft never keeps the vor needle at the centre , it is always displaced to the left or right of centre in all managed mode (ap with trk fpa) 3. I have just upgraded REX4 to REX4 Texture Direct (enhanced edition) when I realised I was unsure how this is affected by other scenery enhancement programs I run the REX4 with Active Sky Next and my scenery for Scotland is VFR Photographic Scenery for Scotland and ORBX scenery for England. I am aware of the layer protocols i.e. something like base and mesh scenery which can be overlaid with eg photographic data. However I am confused with the textures generated by REX4 how do they work within Orbx etc? are they invalid because ORBX overwrites any changes? and also for example, specific eg Aerosoft airport scenery, are the REX4 textures ignored for Runways etc be…

Hi, today I was trying to assign view functions to my joystick through FSUIPC when suddenly, trying all the views options and panel views, I stopped being able to see the pop-up windows on the virtual cockpit... the only way I can see them is by undocking them by guessing were the window is and right clicking the mouse to undock. I would like to know how could I be able to see the pop-up windows again, cause now I only see those that I undocked ... Now it's like if the virtual cockpit view was in front of the other windows and I cannot see them, even though, in the views menu, in the instrument tab, I can see that those Pop-up windows are actually opened... what…

Hi all, I was doing a couple of flights to Victoria BC (CYYJ), landing runway 27. Although it was VFR conditions, I tuned in the ILS frequency for that runway and set up my NAV1 to follow it. Good thing it was VFR conditions. I noticed that the ILS was showing the glideslope as being quite a bit to the right of me when I was bang on centreline. I have noticed some ILS do tend to have a glideslope that is a bit right of the runway (CYGK comes to mind), but this seemed to be right off. I've tried this with two aircrafts - Cessna 172 and the Mooney Bravo - both with G1000. Anyone else seen this? I admit that I may have made a rookie mistake that I don't kn…

Hi, I've googled this already and seen that this was a problem in FS9 and in the pre-SE FSX, and the latest post I found for this issue was 2013. Has anyone notice the real-time weather suddenly be stuck on whatever the weather was about 2 weeks ago? So far when I googled this, there didn't seem to be any option short of abandoning the FSX default real-world weather updates in favour of an add-on. So in 2017 and with the FSX-SE, I'm asking if a) anyone has had the real-weather updates stop updating, and b) was there any resolution? Like many others I suspect, I still operate EDDI Tempelhof thanks to the excellent Simmershome retro version. BUT, I get no communications from the tower on landing and no ground instructions. How can I get these back?

I got my new computer today and installed my boxed edition of PMDG 737-800 into FSX:SE. Went in without problem On selecting the plane to fly, it came up with activation page to which I input the activation code on the box that came with it Then this message popped up after a few seconds ' The activation of the fulfilment is denied by activation policy for activation ID - XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (X being the activation code on the box) because Maximum extra activations exceeded [Incident~9983-9243787] Please anyone knows what to do?, I am desperate Please help ahanson277

Hello everyone! I just bought Fs Global Ultimate Ftx version and i have orbx global, vector, openlc europe, threes hd. So here is my issue: after installing Fs Global Ultimate Ftx, sea textures looking like land, land textures looking like squares, roads missing, buildings missing and airport area land textures are black. I have been Running FSX and FSX SE side by side on the same Harddrive on 2 Computers for a long time, With No Problem . After a Hardrive Problem, requiring a reInstlall, I find that FSX SE will Not create the App Data Files Properly ? FSX-SE does create a FSX file in both App Data Roaming and Local. but will NOT open a FSX SE file ? FSX and FSX SE will both run Seemingly normal, but are operating out of the same FSX file in the Appdata Folder ? When I Completly Uninstall FSX, and run only FSX SE, FSX SE will continue to create the FSX Entries, but will NOT create a FSX SE entry in the App Data Folder ?? I suspect a Registry Error, but have NO Idea how to find it ?? HAAAAA…

Hello friends. I am new to the forum. I am a flightsim enthusiate for more than 20 years and use this forum quite a lot on the back ground. Anyways I have problem for a long time with my FSX steam traffic. I cant get to work any other traffic software like traffic 360 or ultimate traffic or even AIFP with my FSX steam. I can only have WOAI traffic work. I dont know what the problem is its quite frustrating and pecular. Taking AIFP as an example I use the software, downloaded its AI model, followed all the relativly simple steps to create the bgl file and place it in the scenery folder in fsx steam. Hi Simmers, I like the default King Air due to its flexibility and good fps. However, when I advance the thrust for takeoff, the plane jerks forward about two times. It only happens in the King Air. I have watched videos on youtube with others taking off with it and it does not happen to them. If possible, could you guys try a test takeoff with it and let me know if it happens with you also. I use FSX steam.
