*** ORION 7 ***Orion 7 was the spaceship of the Hero (Commander McLane) from the first german TV-space series"Raumpatrouille" (Space patrol), which was broadcasted in 1966 and still is very popular as a kind of cult.Recently it came out on DVD.The color base upon an original card game from the 60s, because the TV series was in b-w.First, all credits must go to Ralph - http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/terrace/kag15/index.shtmlfor permission to use his old low poly .obj model. You may have a look on his very nice homepagefor a look into the"Raumpatrouille" universe. The model has a spinning "Orter" and working lift. It was made with vinka's great spacecraft.DLL.The ship is…

Have they gotten the new Southwest concourse at Hobby finished yet? Or do you have to clear security occasionally when changing planes? I'd hate to have to stand in a check-in line at the ticket counter at HOU while connecting.

Just trying to leearn what I did wrong.I did the Delta Glider-ISS tutorial in the manual (page 73-74). I have done it without problems before a few times, but this time it didn't work out.I followed the checklist. I got up into orbit, got a nice circular orbit, and did the align planes bit and got inclination down to about 0.1% or so. All was fine until it was time to sync orbits. Usually, I get an intersection at Intersect 1 or Intersect 2 like the manual sais. This time however, I didn't. The manual sais that if I don't get an intesection, I should set the MFD to Sh Periapsis instead, so I did that. I then got Sh-ToR(3) and Tg-ToR(4) to match (they lit up yellow and we…

For those curious about what a flight board looks like during an ice storm check it out. This is current, so depending on when your looking at it, it may not seem to bad. When I checked it, over 85% of the flights were cancelledThis is for Portland Oregon. Those who live on the upper East Coast may look at this and give a bit of a snicker :-)Around here this occurs about once every three years or so.http://www.flypdx.com/web_pop/flights_search.aspPS: folks from Canada may look at this and thinks its summertime.

Regards to the F70 that crash-landed at MUC recently (www.airdisaster.com) - is it a write/off? It did lose its gear. Sad to see this lovely little plane end her life like this. Amazing toughness of the design, and great pilotage. My regards.Toni

On a visit to the Saratoga around 1964 or earlier.., one pilot put me in his Skyhawk and shut the canopy over me---the space was so small, I got the impression I could not move. I will never forget those A-4s on the deck of Sara, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Forrestal, and even the Shangri-La, that I visited as a kid. The American carriers used to come to Piraeus Harbour very often and I would just take the train and go to the Fleet lannding and ask the sailors or officers going back to the carrier on the launch if they would take me aboard---by the 2nd or 3rd try, someone would take take me for a tour...In those days, when each carrier released 28oo sailors on liberty, the peo…

I'd be interested in hearing from other active private or commercial pilots: Regarding currency for flying, what do you consider necessary? The FAA has the 90-day currency rule for carrying passengers, but many (including me) consider this to be beyond the time needed between flights to keep skills sharp. My flight club has a 60 day currency requirement, requiring a CFI check-out if that is exceeded. What do you all think? Thanks,Bruce.

It's all new....Replaces the 767 pretty much...much more range with 20% better fuel burn. 10% reduction in per seat cost. The interior is unreal...large, roomy and Oval....giant Bins that take roll-aways going in, instead of longways. Much more seat and leg room (talking major improvement), it's all up pretty cool for the intended market.www.boeing.com/commercial/7e7/flash.html
