Howdy,Anyone know of a web site devoted exclusively to Alaska Coastal Airlines? Found a gazillion links to partial information (even photos of the old Juneau dock hanger), but nothing encompassing the entire operation. Any and all links most gratefully accepted.TIA.

Do these new LCD TVs have enough resolution to run programs like FS2004? You would think that they might be quick enough now (reponse times)if they are being used in TVs.Another thing is that they come in larger sizes than "Computer Monitors" (except those over priced Apple monitors)Terry

I just wanted to share this info I just read regarding the 7E7 project. I found it quite interesting and surprising. It turns out engines on 7E7 will be started by electric motors, not typically through bleed air supplied from APU. This will require a new type of APU.(AWST Feb.9, page 38).Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg

Hey Yawl,The link below will take you to the Trend anti-virus site and help you with information about the newest security vulneralbility that MS operating system owners and administrators are dealing with:http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyc...2_VULNERABILITYThe bottom line is this: If you are using one of the affected operating systems and most of you are, download the patch from MS and install it. Failure to do so leaves you vulnerable to hacker attacks and firewalls and anti-virus software will not stop them.

Hello everyoneThe Launch Utility Tower #1 which serviced Apollo 8, Apollo 11, Apollo 13, among several other launches is very near to being scrapped at this very moment. This struture is greater than 400' tall, and was built to service Saturn Vs launching both Apollo payloads, and Skylab. This is truly a one of a kind structure, and is very important historically. Yesterday, NASA was going to start cutting work on scrapping it, but a group i am with has managed to stave them off for the moment. This is not the first time that LUT #1 has been at the 11th hour(about the third time). For many years i've been with a group who have been trying to save this structure so tha…

Lud Von Pipper of the simhq Strike Fighters Project 1 forums posted this picture of something unforeseen that happened in his game, SFP1. A Phantom loaded with pilots instead of bombs and rockets-- due to some fault in the game's engine, I suppose. It had everyone in the forums laughing and making jokes, some of them very witty. It is worth a visit there--you will laugh your head off, I assure you. The post is named "What the hell is this?", by Lud Von Pipper, who also took the screenshot and another one of an F-104 launching pilots like rocketware...Nick Tselepides

Does anyone want to help get Concorde flying again ? If so, then sign the petition at www.save-concorde.co.uk.I know that some of you may believe that this is a waste of time, but then nothing EVER gets done if we do not try. This campaign has the backing of several Concorde pilots, ex-Concorde engineers, and the British Airline Pilots Association, so it is NOT some small time attempt to cause trouble.Come on guys, what harm can it do ?Chris Low.

I am referring to the accident just weeks ago in which an egyptian charter 737 plunged to the Red Sea shortly after take off from Sharm-El-Sheikh.The French (all tourists on board were French) recovered both black boxes and handed them over to the Egyptians who are in charge of investigation. This was like 10 days ago.Barely 3-4 days later I only read small piece of news on the Avweb site saying the accident is being blamed on pilot error (no info on what kind of eror). Now almost a week elapsed since this first revelation and there is absolutely no further information available anywhere and I looked everywhere on the internet. This is just my pure speculation ... but the …

Apparently there are serious problems with Cessna's 208B Grand Caravan. It seems that the aircraft is very suseptable to icing at low altitudes. This is the suspected cause of two accidents. One on a flight from Pelee Island in Lake Erie to Windsor Ontario crashed into the frozen lake last week; another crashed in Alaska in 2001 after ice forming on the wing after takeoff. There is a pending lawsuit on this issue. Rumor has it that Cessna know of that the Caravan was very suseptable to icing. The 208B Grand Caravan is the same that appears in FS2002 and FS2004.

Here is a link to a airliners.net photo on which I have 2 questions. As you can see on the AP altidude window 35400 feet are set. Why this kinda odd number?Further the left altimeter displays 35400 feet as current altidude, whereas the right altimeter shows 35740 feet. Why this difference - as far as I can see the pressure on both altimeters are set to 29.92 (1013)?http://www.airliners.net/open.file/501041/L/Wolfgang

How does the thrust and size/model of the engines used for the A-320 and B73NG compare? Those on the Airbus a/c seem to be larger, and maybe this is just the fact that the wing is higher and the engine can be hung lower. Both a/c are similar (sizewise) otherwise, I think.Thanks,Bruce.

Hi, I'm looking for a comparison image that shows a lot of different aircraft in profile and to-scale. Basically, I'm just trying to learn to be able to spot the difference between the various planes and I thought this would help. So hopefully, I can find something that shows 7X7s and A3X0s together. Thanks
