I'm just curious, when a plane is given no speed restriction by ATC, does that mean that the plane can go as fast as the crew want to go, or do they still have to follow the 250kts limit under 10,000 ft?Thanks,Francois

I'm wondering what would you do if the retractable undercarriage fails to come down while your in the circuit. Assuming you've done all the things possible to solve the problem, would you:keep on flying to burn off most of the fuel, or would you land with fuel in the tanks?I'm thinking that it might be wise to land with fuel in the tanks because it's the fuel vapours that risk explosion. What do you think?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/73452.jpghttp://www.onlinesimulationsolutions.com/Athlon 64 3000, 19dba Zalman CPU fan, MSI K8T-NEO, 1GB PC3200 DDR400, HIS Excalibur 9800 Pro 128mb, 60GB HD.Trainee Airline Pilot (Completing PPL, ATPL this year).

Greetings all!I'm looking for a little advice. Yesterday morning I walked into the FBO where I flight instruct and the owner said he had a different type of flight booked for me this coming Saturday afternoon. A local farmer passed away (turns out I'm related to him) awhile back and requested that his ashes be spread over his farm. The family called the FBO and the owner booked the flight.I've never done this type of thing before, but I've heard the horror stories of the ashes getting whipped/sucked back into the plane, dropping the urn, etc...The plane I'll be using is our C182. The left pilot's door window opens fully, and there's a hole cut in the floor to mount a came…

Hi All, This may bit a tad bit long, but I was sparked to write due to a post in the MSFS Forum concerning coordinated turns in jets. I took three glider lessons a couple of years ago and being an avid aviation enthusiast, I was excited at the prospect. But in doing so I learned that either I was totally inept at controlling the craft, or that the instructor was a total buffoon with a death wish. I have been at the controls of Cessna (150, 172) and a Piper Cherokee but did not use the rudders when flying those, I never did takeoff or land a powered aircraft. I was so disappointed in my inability to control a glider that I felt I was destined to fly a Dell for the rest o…

I wonder if anyone can help me, a friend of mine called me with a computer problem and I am currently at my wits end trying to solve it all. First thing that happened was that his homepage was changed to an invalid page, the address is just a bunch of numbers slashes and percent signs, in the registry all of the default pages were changed to this "address". Also system restore and the help and support center do not start, some web pages do not load and no online virus scanners work, the page will load but then stops while it is either downloading the required data or starting to scan. At one point his virus scanner picked up a MHTML exploit and deleted it. I have run vari…

Hey all, Was perusing different Orbiter sites and came across several references to this add on, but any links to the files were dead. The three files I`m trying to find are: Vandenberg%20Complete1.zip VandenbergComplete2.zip VandenbergComplete3.zip Does anyone know an alternative site to find these?(Doesn`t seem to be on AVSIM or the other current Orbiter sites.) Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Barry

I have seen mention of different L-1011 models. Some are called L-1011-385-1, L-1011-1, and L-1011-1-15(100). Can someone explain the difference between these models? The reason I am asking is because I have two different panels for the L-1011 in FS98. One has analog dials and one has vertical bars to display the engine output. I think the one with the dials is for the L-1011-1 and L-1011-500, while the one with vertical bars if for the L-1011-250 and L-1011-385-1. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Was listening to my scanner today and seems there were 2 landing gear incidents. One at ord rwy27(blown tire...airline???)causing holding over multiple points east and west. And now(8:40p e.t.)just heard a c130 had a gear collapse at MSP that's blocking 2 major runways......at least it isn't snowing.;)
