All it takes is a little snow, and....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135418.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135419.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135420.jpgThe 182 parked next to my Dakota.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135421.jpgEven a 182RG was not immune, but the 206's were unaffected.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135422.jpgPipers are also unaffected, unless, of course, one is having an engine overhaul, as is the case with this Cherokee 180. ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135423.jpgI'm still a bit achy after shoveling out the Dakota yesterday, but at least I got to fly her today. Also, it's a lot easier to clean the snow off the top of …

I turn 31 next month and since I was 20, I had promised myself to get my private pilot before I turned 35. Not sure if it was a fear for lack of accomplishment or what, but the date was arbitrary and represented getting old or something stupid, I guess. As a kid, my dad and I had a short foray into the world of RC aircraft. He had actually flown UH-1s in Vietnam and for some reason, I liked helicopters, even if I had never been on one. I've always had dreams of being in the air, flying. Dreams that plague me even after I wake up, convincing me that I knew what it felt like. I look up on cloudless skies and wish I were up there. I've been afraid of heights, but never flying…

My fiancee and I are getting married in September of next year. I am a private pilot and our first date was at the Ottawa airport plane-spotting! We're looking at using an aviation theme for our wedding and are trying to think of any ideas for centrepieces on our tables. Has anybody used this idea before and if so, what did you use for your centrepieces? We're looking for something that we can make ourselves for not too much cash. Thanks!Regards,Dan PergauPP-SEL

How naive I am. I didn't realize they were so blatent as to have their own websites bragging about it.Your theory is well taken but I suspect many of them are unemployed kids who, for them, hacking (or whatevr they call it these days), is a hobby unto itself. The difficulty... the challenge. So whether they work on it for one hour or ten it wouldn't make much difference. One way to kill two birds with one stone would be to hire them to create the wrapper protection. Like banks who hire ex-theives to see if they can break into them.

This might be a silly question, but as a non-pilot it isn't obvious to me! I've been flying in fs2004 with dual garmins from Reality XP. I'm still learning how to use both units together, and I got wondering, what is the real purpose of having two GPS units? Redundancy? Having each unit at a different zoom level? Having a direct-to for a nearby airport in the event of a failure? All of the above?

Just wanted to get some fellow simmers impressions on the Embraer E-Jets (170 and 190). Until yesterday, I had a vague familiarity with them, but I absolutely love both airframes after spending the better part of a day flying them. I would recommend to anyone to take one for a spin at least once. Hopefully, someone can produce a terrific freeware/payware add-on with all the functions (APU, MCU, etc). If one is produced, I know I'll be one of the first in line to get one.Very best regards,Trent Shoemaker

Why are there only two customers (Delta & Continental) for the 767-400? Its seems a very capable twin and Im surprised that more airlines havent ordered it!http://www.jetsite.com.br/images/767-400.jpgOr is superior performance offered by the A330 series? Just curious...specially after getting the excellent Posky rendition of it!

I just flew another approach into LOWW with 'real' ASV weather. The conditions at LOWW (Vienna-Schwechat) seem to always be extremly bad with visibilites down to almost 0 feet.As a good pilot, I flew the approach according to the plates with an MDA of 797', which is pretty much a joke with constant visibilities of 200' or less. I have also noticed from the plates that LOWW seems only to be ILS CatI certified, so any CAT II/III approach is pretty much out of the question.Yet to avoid being in a hold and to burn all my remaining fuel to wait for the weather to clear up didn't cut it really either. So, I did a CatIII landing and for a minute I thought my scenery has gone bel…
