BOEING gets some of the business also, about 60% with Airbus about 1/3.However they ,Airbus got more than twice the sales last month. The report goes on to say the relations between France and China reflect that are ardent partners.France has constantly choose to end the embargo ,China had endured after the Tianamen square crack down on the students by China's military.Hundreds were killed then.Frances exports grew 17% to China last year. But thats politics. It shows to me China is growing. Its peoples needs are escalating, and they are rivaling us for energy supplies. These aircraft the A320, A318,and the A321s go to: AIR CHINA -- …

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I thought this debate happened before my time, but here we go again. The Cold war was a driving force last time, but...I honestly don't see the point in manned missions beyond low or geosynchronous orbit. All the reasons given seem more like reasons to explore the Pacific basin. Energy? Frozen methane seeps- Though it is a greenhouse gas. Mining the moon? Didn't it come from the Pacific basin? There are literally fountains near the Marianas trench spewing titanium, gold et cetera and the only ones I know doing something about it are the North Koreans. They were there years ago with a ship vaccuming up the cooled nuggets of various elememen…

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I guess I misunderstood, the only topic I ever got "flames" for was "should we go back to the moon?". Having gotten a somewhat public "warning", I will confine some of my discussions till when outfits like CNN start calling.I miss simming, it's been a few weeks since I have been able to. Preparing to "go for it" on a laptop- starting with installation/hardware setup.Best regards for Avsim, Donny:-wave

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!Well, now according to a federal judge an American citizen with known ties to Al-Queida can be imprisoned indefinitely without being charged. So just how tenuous are those ties going to be eventually? And how long before the same methods at Guantanomo Bay are used here, as long as a judge can be convinced there is evidence of a link??? From the start, we have slipped into doing just what "they" want us to do, abandoning our principles to save them. The Gitmo detainees are not eligible for POW status cuz officially we are not at war. Then they are not eligible for civil trials because they are foreign nationals captured in a time of war. HUH…

  7. Passenger crash lands twin-engine planeKESQ, KVBC (internet), WXYZ TV (Detroit) ^ | 5 May 05 |Posted on 05/06/2005 12:08:29 AM PDTA twin engine Gulfstream One turbo-prop made a belly landing about 100 feet short of a North Las Vegas runway at 0914 5 May. One of the two passangers aboard - who had no flight experience in a multi engined aircraft - took control of the aircraft, after the pilot took ill while en route to San Diego. Reports indicated that the pilot suffered a heart attack during flight and subsequently died at a local Las Vegas hospital. The passanger is intimated as having had in a previous life stick time in gliders (but never in any powered aircraft - let …

. Every IFR pilot (and IFR magazine reader) should be familiar with the term STAR, which stands for Standard Terminal Arrival Route -- published routes designed (as per AIM 9-1-4) to "expedite ATC arrival procedures and to facilitate transition between en route and instrument approach operations." Every pilot -- IFR or VFR -- should know about ATC's STARS. It's not the TRACON's basketball team but, instead, is an approach control tool that means:a. Special Terminal Approach Radar Systemb. Standard Terminal Automation Radar Systemc. Standard Terminal Automation Replacement Systemd. Sequence Tool Air Route Systeme. Standard Tired Automatic Request Squelcher (FAA's "Just Say…

Knowing that most pilots are right handed, why would Airbus design an aircraft where the pilot in comand has to use his or her left hand to control the aircraft (by way of that joystick) during manual flight?RH

Hello all http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/aktion/a...-smiley-030.gifI have these three wondeful old planes in my FS9 fleet:Boeing 727, Tupolev TU154 & Ilyushin IL62.I now like to fly real routes in FS9 using online resources such as Flight Aware & Amadeus. However Im finding it near impossible to find routes flown by the above-mentioned planes :( Searching in Russia yeilded some TU154 routes but I have not been able to find any trips that use the other two - specially the 727. The online resources I mentioned are brilliant and very useful but they lack a function that if implemented will be snapped up by simmers: an aircraft search filter.So...would anyone know o…

Has anyone ever experienced motion sickness with the TrackIR? I got a terrible headache and a tad nauseus tonight flying my beloved PMDG 737 from the VC with TrackIR. All the symptoms of montion sickness: headache, blurred vision, disorientation. The thing is: I never get sick flying a real plane or even the most terrifying roller coaster.Cheers.

Was just browsing around the net.. ran across some info on Braniff. I always thought that their colors were bizarre... but as I read more about the history, for some reason it was really a great (and eventually sad) story.. from the beginning with Paul Braniff to the crazy stuff they did in the 1960s. I was born in 1962 so I don't remember any of that. And I don't remember hearing about them as I grew up in the 1970s.Paul Braniff would fly his planes (I believe with his son) and buzz his house to let his wife know he was home lol!.. those must have been great times. :)I just think it was a nice story hidden in the history books. I have no idea why I posted this. Maybe I j…

Microsoft is offering two versions. One for $299. ,the other for $399.They expect to sell three million of these in the next 90 days.To be sure its a game player, among other things it can do.While diversification with game products exists today at MS,will consolidation of all games to be included in this new game player tomorrow?.I know ,we don't like to refer to our selves as game players, however they do.Interesting concept for us to pounder. Wonder if any other concepts are out there? VINPS: 3 Mil X $300. or $400. a shot Do the math, and follow the money.

Just was wondering what the purpose of this survey is? Is Microsoft trying to determine where there is an X-box 360 market?Has anybody confirmed if Microsoft will release a version of FS 2006 for the X-Box 360? If so, how will it compare to a PC?Will it run all your USB hardware, Yokes, Pedals, Go Flight, PFC?What about add-ons? Will you be able to install them on the X-Box 360 version? What will be the advantages? Disadvantages?Time for some serious debate and discussion, since the X-box 360 is out and selling like hotcakes!Barry

I've been reading an interesting magazine called Pilot Getaways that comes out bimonthly (used to be quarterly). Each issue covers several destinations covering the airport there, attractions, hotels, and transportation; it also includes other articles covering topics concerning private air travel. It sells in Barnes & Noble's stores for US$4.95/CA$5.95, though you may find it in other book stores.I've been using some of the destinations in the magazine as inspiration for flight sim flights lately. The September/October 2005 issue for example focused on White Sands, New Mexico (ALM); Santa Monica, California (SMO); Columbus, Ohio (OSU); Bar Harbor, Maine (BHB); Astoria…

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!As far as I know, with a redline of Mach .92 the 747 is the fastest airliner currently in service. What does the Citation X redline at? It actually cruises at .92, doesn't it? If the Citation X isn't the fastest civil passenger aircraft based entirely on Mach redline, what is? There is supposedly a Mach 1.5 Falcon bizjet in the works, but I just want those currently in service. No two seaters need apply!!!Best Regards, Donny:-wave
