Hi,I am responding to you're Locking of this threadhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=298171&page=3whilst I appreciate you're views on the legalities of peoples properties etc, I think that the text, and or link, could have been deleted instead of simply Locking Up the Whole Thread, this does not help in any way whatsoever, the people who, like myself, just wanted to know what this sim1.dll file does, and if there is any differences between the file we already have on our systems, and the other sim1.dll that was there before the link was removed. this is what I was asking, and, even if someone did know the answer, and was kindly prepared to tell me, and …

Greetings,I'm trying to wrap my head around programming the FMC from the end of a STAR to the threshold. I'm using the SADDE6 arrival into runway 25R of KLAX. The transition doesn't matter (it's the AVE transition). From the arrival plate, it looks like the end of the STAR is the SADDE intersection and/or the Santa Monica VOR. I'm a little fuzzy on determining the final fix of the STAR.The question is, from the final fix of the STAR, am I to consult the arrival plate for 25R and input to the FMC all the arrival fixes and restrictions listed, starting at one of the listed initial approach fixes? And, is the IAF to be used determined by the location/proximity of the last fi…

Took the DELTA Shuttle MD-80 from LGA to DCA today and wow, was it windy on descent and approach. During decsent from cruise, captain announced winds of 35 mph gusting to 60 mph on approach to DCA and I got the willies. Lower down, we got bashed around quite a bit from wingtip to wingtip as we approach the Potomac river. Final approach was nose down to the fence at very high speed over raging whitecaps, a beautiful flare, and excellent touchdown, firm but not "heavy landing" on one of the short cross runways at DCA. I was really impressed and feel that the DELTA crew earned their pay in abundance for this performance. It's been a long time since I felt heavy winds like…

The UK Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) recently publishes a bulletion relating to a Evergreen International Airlines' B747-132 that had problems on a flight from Ramstein to Wright Field. This hit the headlines in the UK newspapers. http://www.aaib.dft.gov.uk/cms_resources/N481EV%201-06.pdfOne engine ran down and couldn't be restarted and the crew decided that the remaining engines were not producing the selected thrust. The captain declared an emergency and requested a diversion to London Heathrow. The reason it hit the headlines was becase of the lack of thrust the pilot (whose skill was praised) had to hand-fly the aircraft in VMC, and had to make S-turns ove…

For those that have not seen this yet, a T-39 Saberliner has gone missing in or around Georgia. Here is the story http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,181291,00.html I wish the best to the families of those involved and hope that these 4 people will be found unharmed. The plane took off yesterday (Tuesday) bound for Florida but never made it, you would think in this day and age a plane like that would not just "go missing", especially a military jet. Let us hope and pray for those aboard!Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Hey there,As alot of you may know, Singapore Airlines Flight SQ006 slammed onto some construction equipment and crashed and that was due to pilot error. Now, my question is: What was done to improve safety in that area of how SQ006 crashed? It may be airport factors or airline factors or whatever. I've tried searching hard on the web but could not find the info I want. Please reply. Thanks!

Hi,I am a simmer in the UK but my son is wanting to learn to fly, probably in the US or Canada. He has been advised by a pilot (ATPL) that the best way to learn is in a taildragger, due to the C of G positioning and rudder control required. He is having difficulty finding a school that teaches taildraggers from scratch. Ideally, he wants to gain a CPL(A) and then work as a Bush Pilot (hence the taildragger learning), maybe in Canada or the tropics, possibly securing Bush work or similar with the school that he trains with. Alternatively in the interim of qualifying as a CPL(A), building hours as an instructor. Can anyone help to locate a suitable school please?

Concerning the revised rules relating to posting pic's of commercial products.Surely a product that is on general release has no active beta testers and posts by former beta testers should be treated in the same way as any other user.Pre-release publicity pic's by developers and their beta testers is straight-forward.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

Hi all,I'm planning to have an FS workshop in March for about 10 to 15 people. It's about to learn the basics of flying. Since I don't like the FS default aircraft and because they're unrealistic I'm looking for an very good freeware plane with the following spec's:- It should have an detailed panel and model. - Sound is an option, but not an must-have.- It should have an auto-installer (since I have to install it on more PC's)- The flight dynamics should be realistic, but the plane must be stable and not difficult to fly.- The panel should be quite simple, so no state-of-the-art GPS'es and so on on it, but just the "basic-six" and a few engine indicators. - It doesn't m…
