Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. Miles Harrison where ever you may be at this time of night in Sydney (1:40 A.M. to be specific).... Your wife's voice on your camera that you INSIST is a dog barking, is only a reflection of your relationship and the sad state that you have stooped to. Miles, friend, I have to tell you, that was not a bark. GET OVER IT!!!! It was an owl passing gas in the wilderness! Accept it. Your wife is NOT a dog, despite how many times you photograph empty tables, ceilings, or Victoria trying to prove otherwise. The Aussies are going to run you out of town on a rail son... trust me!!!! :-lolAnd the photos tomorrow to prove it. Right here. Stay tuned!!!

There are instances of some software companies including scanning code in their downloads. There could be a wide variety of purposes for the "extra" code. One case seems to show that it is intended to stop piracy. However, that must be taken on pure faith. If you lovingly trust the company then no problem. However, examine the basis for that trust. Some people once trusted their spouses to the extreme and ended up in divorce court. There are such things as character flaws.Downloading to a computer where you have an open file of your account numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers, etc. is dangerous. However, the general public possibly has thousands of occurrences of …

Not sure if this is the proper place but I did not want another almost 300 postings type thread in the General Forum...I am using the RealAir Cessna 172 as my primary airplane in FS2004. Not being a pilot I must rely on others when it comes to the authenticity of flight dynamics as represented by a particular FS2004 aircraft. The RealAir stuff seems to be amongst the closest to the best that the simulator can presently provide. So, looking for some change I tried the FS2004 Mooney. The panel seems reasonable and low on FPS impact. Of course, the plane goes up, down and sideways as I move the CH yoke. The question is, does anyone know if the Microsoft programmed flight dyn…

Hi all, for some reason, I cant choose to "save as" files when downloading from avsim or flightsim.com. It just pops open after downloading the file and then cant move the content inide the already opened folder. Is there a way to have the computer ask me where to save the file before downloading it like it used to?Thanks,Bill

I was looking through the Avsim library and I came across aircraft with "NOC" in their description. How can a plane be in "New Old Colours"?! Why don't the authors say "Circa 1996"? It's a lot clearer :-lol.

I have recently purchased the Feelthere PIC 737 3/4/500 plane(download option) and I recieved a paypal statement, well stating(lol) that they have recieved there payment of what ever it cost, I checked my bank account and sure enough the money was gone. Is it just me or is it that online transactions should be instant? It has been 2 days and I have only recieved a email stating that my payment is in pending mode what ever that means when i know the money is gone. Maybe I am spoiled by the Flight1 Ecommerce wrapper thingy and its simplicity but I know they are not taking 2 days to convert US dollars to Euro's lol. Has anyone had a similar slow experience with the Wilco Pub…

This is a moderator-type question I guess, but I thought I'd throw it around the AVSIM Hangar. I saw this thread:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=1850&mode=fullAnd I couldn't help but ask, a certain user in this thread comes off to me as being quite impolite and rude in this thread in two different places, or is it just me being oversensitive?? Just trying to gauge my mod skills if I ever mod a forum somewhere,...I guess you gotta have a thick skin to some extent. Thanks,Rhett

Just wanted to get this out of my head and see what all of you think :)Is it just me or is the sensation of speed all wrong in FS9? A good example in my opinion is flying past(or through) clouds. When we fly in real life on jet airliners and the airplane passes close to clouds they just WHIP past at great speed which gives a good sensation of high speed - specially if the plane is powering away in the climb or its in the cruise. But in FS9 the clouds tootle leisurely past even when you're doing Mach 0.82 in close proximity to them. I find the same problem when flying at low level where the terrain seems to fly past the plane at a slow speed even though you are bangin' alo…

After many many years of flight sim (almost 10), I've decided to take flight lessons. I leave in NYC and wanted to know if anyone can help me with some tips on the best way to search for a flight school (i.e location, safety issues, rates, etc). I know nothing about it, and know no one that is a RP. Any suggestions will be very much appreciatted.Thank you!

On January 9th, 2006, the last Westjet Boeing 737-200 (Tail 748 C-FCWJ) was flown during a fly-by ceremony at the Westjet hangar in Calgary. The aircraft was flown by Don Bell. The last commercial revenue flight by a Westjet '200 was a charter flight, Las Vegas to Calgary, arriving at 0130 January 9, 2006, flown by tail 741 (C-GWWJ). We'll miss you 737-200.....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/139275.jpg

I just posted this over at the AIArrdvark forums:"I am going to try to cover a number of points in this message that have been up in this thread. Please note that I don't typically go to other forums and post, and doing so here is simply because of the many misconceptions that seem to be rampant in the AI community. I would like to set some things straight, and let you draw your own conclusions...First, Ben, AVSIM serves up terabytes a month. See here:http://library.avsim.net/viewstats.p...=fileperiod-30We typically average 80+ gigabytes a day and our largest day was nearly 139 gigabytes. If anyone would like to set up a system that handles that much data flow from JUST a…
