Hi all, just curious on what is the process of fueling a plane that has center tanks and other aux tanks. Does the fueler fill the wings first and then center tanks or center tanks first and the wing if more fuel is needed? Thanks,Bill

Hi, I have a question concerning the 737 leading edge slats. At which flap settings does the slats deploy fully downward? I know they start halfway down and then deply fully downward towards full flap setting...or something near it.Thanks,Bill

From the Washington Post:"Meigs Field used to be a small lakefront airport in Chicago. Now it will be hosting smaller fliers. The old airport terminal will be a sanctuary for migrating (and other) birds injured by flying into downtown office buildings, being hit by cars, getting caught in fishing lines or other mishaps.Starting Saturday, the terminal will become a bird hospital run by the Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, which treats injured birds and other wildlife in its suburban Chicago facility. The hospital will be part of a nature reserve the Chicago Park District plans to open on Northerly Island, the land jutting out into Lake Michigan where Meigs Field …

Just wondering...I know that in most instances the flawed principles of Bernoulli's equations are used to explain lift in flight schools. Why is this so?Many people will argue till they're blue in the face that lift is explained with Bernoulli's equation, not knowing that what they were taught is incorrect. I'm certain that if the correct reasons for lift were taught, pilots would still not feel overwhelmed and there would be no confusion.Anyway, what are your thoughts?James

The link below shows an A300-600 taking off from Changi.http://www.flightlevel350.com/video_streaming.php?id=5713This is the first time I've seen a take-off where flaps haven't been used. The "canoes" are not even slightly dipped, infering there isn't even a small degree of flap.Interestingly, the roll-out also seemed very short, so.....I'm assuming either a very light plane, a very short trip, or maybe both. But no flaps being used? Didn't think it was an option..Looking forward to some words of wisdom.CheersTimNZWN

Extract from the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch's March 2006 Bulletin:"As the aircraft took off from Runway 25, the tower Air Traffic Control Officer observed an object dangling from the tail. The object was subsequently identified as a car tyre filled with concrete, which had been used to tie down the aircraft on the ground. The pilot was informed and he landed the aircraft safely after completing a normal circuit. After landing the aircraft was taxied clear of the runway and shut down before the tie-down weight was removed. A runway inspection was carried out before further use. The pilot reported that during the aircraft

Here it is.........The proof.........right from a CFI :( I used to instruct H.S. students that were part of the schools aviation program. They didn't fly much but got a lot of classroom instruction and MSFS time. In the airplane, almost ALL of them flew with their eyes glued to the instruments. It was VERY hard to get them to unlearn this. After I scolded them, they would start looking outside but eventually regressed right back to the instruments. This ineviatably led to chasing the needles. There you go! Get a good VC, use shiftZ for airspeed and heading, and look out the window once & awhile! :D Link to thread, page four: http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.ph…

Does anyone know the callsigns of these airlines?I am trying to find the callsigns of these airlines. I have tried searching on the Internet, but have been unable to discover them. (It is possible that some of the names may be wrong or misspelt, or that the airline has gone out of business.)Thanks for any help.Martin1time (or 1-Time) (South Africa)AeroCbitAir AtlanticEurope Air LinesEuropean AirlinesNok Air (or Nok Airlines) (Thailand)Ocean AirlinesStar ToursSwiss Sun

I've been grinding forward with my effort towards Sport Pilot, and my CFI says I will be soloing soon. Part of me wants to cry out "no way", but I suppose I am doing what I have to do now to get the job done and get the aircraft from the ground, to the sky, and back to the ground again.Does anyone have any suggestions regarding my solo? What are the traps we tend to miss when our CFI isn't with us to coach us along? My CFI strikes me as the kind of person who will just hop out in a week or two and say "your ready". The past six weeks have been a blur. I guess everyone has to go through a mid-life crisis, but mine has to be learning to fly? :)Thanks for any input...-J…

Check out these links for the added benefits of 3D awareness, that's available now! At least for experimental/homebuilt/kitbuilt catagory and some retrofits. Second link shows the panel capabilities of an aircraft, such as the kitbuilt Van's 4-place RV-10.http://www.d2av.com/http://www.d2av.com/pdfs/SV-10.pdfL.Adamson

The Chicago Park District announced that part of Meigs will be converted to a hospital for injured wild birds. Even they can't fly in, but maybe they can fly out when they are healed. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/custom/...ll=chi-news-hed

Hi.Just been surfing around the net and found a link to a bittorrent site that has files for payware scenery. Surely this is illegal?!As a law abiding member of the flightsim communityI feel that I should report this but who to? Preumably I should email the developer directly and allert them. Is this best way to go?I would also like to state the obvious, that I have notand do not intent to use this bittorrent file! Thanks for any comments on this issueAndy
