Here're mine...Last weekend I did this:I had just lifted off from Bangkok on my Lear 35 world flight and was climbing through 1,000 feet or so. I switched on both the autopilot and autothrottle and continued to climb to my cruise altitude of 35,000 feet. However, about 30 seconds later, when looking over my instruments I noticed something wasn't right. The A/P was pulling up the nose to 15 degrees and more, while airspeed was quickly dropping to 100 knots. Needless to say, I stalled, and only by disconnecting both A/P and A/T I could save my plane. It turned out I had switched the autothrottle to IAS Hold mode without actually dialing in any speed value. Thus, the A/T pull…

I've bought an E6B, both manual and digital ones, and I realised that the usual wind correction cal. only gives Wind Correction Angle and Ground Speed (assuming we know True Course, TAS, Wind Course/Speed). My question is, when I draw out the vectors and solve using trigonometry, it says I should turn my aircraft xx degrees from true course AND to fly the new heading using a HIGHER TAS. But this higher TAS isn't given by the flight computer. So does it mean that pilots over the world would just turn to the wind corrected heading AND just continue to fly at the same original TAS? If so, isn't that wrong?Hope my question is clear.Lep

Well have any of you ever intallled XP too many times and got the message that the code in no longer valid? Well, I did. Basically it is like the software wrapper that Flight1 uses. I had to call Microsoft and get a new code to install windows. I can't tell you if the origional code will work next time as I havn't reinstalled windows again. Different.JimCYWG

Saw this story at Yahoo:http://news.yahoo.com/s/pcworld/20060208/tc_pcworld/124659Many fed up with exploits on IE have moved to Mozilla or Firefox--I am no exception and I use Mozilla for most of my browsing. But some (myself included) have always maintained that these browsers, as well as other OS's, are just as vulnerable to exploits and virus/malware/spyware authors only avoid them due to lack of "payback" or interest based on the number of users using these browsers. That may be changing. We should always use the Internet under the assumption that (unless an OS or browser was created by the Gods) nothing is perfect. You don't have to visit a warez or porn site to ge…

Just out of curiosity, do you follow long threads like the real trim one and post in them. I usually am loosing interest after the 30st post or am just overwhelmed finding out who answers whom and what relates to what. I usually read them once but if the pop up again after some days I jump them.Alex

Hi,Has anyone had a chance to try this latest addon yet?It doesn't work on my Orbiter (050216 - patched) and crashes to a blank screen with the error message: "Orbiter.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" when each of the 2 supplied scenarios is fully loaded. I see a brief glimpse of the planet (earth?) surface below before the crash occurs.Mike

"forum guru", "webhead",... or in other words someone who's into flightsimming but also enjoys tinkering with webdesign, forums, and all the good stuff that goes with it.We're working on the infamous Hong Kong Kai Tak airport and to be honest I'm spending so much time on the design and management side I need someone to help look over our small, private, project forum from time to time to ensure all is running smoothly. So if you have ever wanted to work on a flightsim addon project but don't know a lick about designing... well, you just might be our man ;)Sounds interesting?
