I expected to return to find the thread locked. To my surprise, it's been completely deleted. So This morning I got to the airport at about 8:30, and managed to catch the line guys before they pulled all the planes out of the hangar. My instructor gave me the OK since there was only about 4 knots and the visibility and ceilings were good. I pre-flighted in the hangar, and got to screw around for a bit before they made it back to pull the plane out. This time I remembered to bring my camera too!I decided to do some maneuvers since I never do, so I took off and headed east along the shore. I went up to 3500 hundred, and did exactly 2 steep turns, 1 departure stall, and 1 approach stall and decided that was good for today. There were other planes in the area too…

Hi,I installed the update to Paint Shop Pro Photo XI (PSPP XI) recently, which brings it up to version 11.11, only to find that a new service now starts up automatically at boot: ProtexisLicensing. It also appears under Task Manager as PSIService.exe.It seems this was introduced/installed by the update and unless it is running PSPP XI won't start! What it is is explained here:http://www.protexis.com/services/product_activation.htmI suppose this is yet another symptom of our times, but it doesn't stop my feelings of irritation and anger that Corel should have done this without warning the legitimate end user. The temptation now is to uninstall the update and revert back to …

Well it's the end of an era. Terminal 2 at CYYZ officialy closed it's doors after 30 plus years of service. Used mostly by Air Canada, they will now be moving to the new terminal. We'll have one beautiful airport when it's finally completed.http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/200...n-terminal.htmlDave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard2.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeForce 7600GT/512 OC'dMaxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDAntec 500watt true powerSharp 19 inch LCD MonitorLogitech Extreme 3D pro Joystickhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpghttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg

After an email and a few days of waiting, I was just given an invitation to tour the John Deere aviation facilities in my hometown, the Quad Cities. Flying for JD is a lifelong goal I've had ever since I got into aviation. The best part is, they fly Citation Xs, which is my favorite business jet. They also have a BRAND NEW '06 Citation Sovreign, and a few Citation IIIs. I am going to do all I can to get a job with them after I get enough hours. Anyway, just thought I'd share. I'll let you know how things go next week! On top of that, I met a Delta 737-800 pilot today at work and we talked about flying and even Flight Sim for almost 2 hours today. He said his girlfriend's …

Hello folks,First post here.I love flying... on flight sim, but this year, I'd like to make it even more real. I was considering taking pilot lessons, but it's so expensive.I was considering taking glider lessons. It's less expensive, environment friendly. What do you think ? Is flying gliders is a whole different ball game? What are the pros and cons of both ? And in terms of safety, is flying a glider more safe or more dangerous? Thanks for your patience and time.Louie.

This story, sent to me by a friend, Bob Jones, a retired pilot (Bob flew for Air Newland for nearly 20 years):-----A DAY WITHOUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED!!!Bob was flying from Brisbane to Auckland . Unexpectedly, the plane diverted to Norfolk Island along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.Everybody got off the plane except bob who is blind. The flight attendant had noticed bob as he walked by and could tell that he was blind because his Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the entire flight. He could also tell …

Why are there so few in the whole world? Just over 60 ever ordered i think? Is it because it's too close to the 767 - but that's not narrow body is it?Bit of an odd looking aircraft i think - like the loooooooooong MD90. So long and thin, they look like they might snap!Just my mind - doing a bit of wondering.......

I stumbled upon a website a few weeks ago that basically allowed people to post information about airports- restaurants, activities, etc. It is a "$100 hamburger" website so to speak. I think I forgot to bookmark it though! I had added some information about a few CT airports and wanted to see if it was posted. Now I can't remember what the website was! Does anybody know anything like that? I found one on google, but it's affiliated with the book and it's a paysite.

So last night I checked the scheduling page for the school, and somebody had cancelled an early flight. I noticed my instructor was going up at 7 to do a rental checkout, so I called him and he said I could meet him there so he could give me the OK (Before I can solo, an instructor has to check my paperwork, and make sure the weather and forecast are within my limits).Since I haven't flown in two weeks, I was pretty excited, so I just naturally woke up at 6:15, hopped in the shower, kissed my girls, and headed out. I stopped at Dunkin Donuts, grabbed a coffee and got to the airport at 6:59. The guy who was there for the rental checkout was waiting at the counter. I ch…

I don't want to single out any vendor, because I've seen most do this. Someone posts a negative slant on a product. A few enthusiastic customers reply, and a one or two people join the negative chorus. Then the vendor jumps in and starts defending his or her product and starts citing sales statistics, customer satisfaction stats, product features and/or product superiority. Quite likely in order to be on the "A" list for the next beta, this encourages more "customers" to come in and post more and more comments aimed on telling the thread authors that they don't know what the heck they are talking about. In my opinion that really blurs the line between advertising and…

I keep seeing everywhere desks that are capable of multiple monitors, but what if you have two full rigs? One for flight simulation and one to surf the net on? My biggest issue is placement of keyboards.Does anyone know of any manufacturer that makes desks that have something for multiple KEYBOARD setups too?

Were special briefs given to the passengers by the cabin crew before commencing the approach for runway 13 at Kai Tak?I can imagine more than a few would start to panic as the aircraft turned in such a manner if they had not been told.

I have used Youtube for quite some time like I do with flightlevel350.com for aviaiton videos. They seem to host alot of those kinda videos. The searching though within the last month has less to be desired. Has anyone come accross problems with using Youtube? Here are the issues I have:1. Last few weeks ago, After viewing a video like 747 or so it would have videos on the right hand side panel. The video panel would have something like 1-20 of 20,000 videos. It had a link "see all videos". It would only show the only you currently played. It would have 20 or so videos that were similarly related to what you typed. Before it would show all videos.2. Today I notic…
