HiI don't seem to be able to get signatures to work? I had it working with an A2A banner but got a message saying it violated the rules. I think it was too big. I've edited it and its smaller now, I've uploaded it to a space on my webspace and I can only get it to display the URL not the actual image which is a JPG. any ideas, cause the same happened when I tried the PMDG banners. the first on worked like a dream.many thanksIan

Which do you prefer? The good old fashioned analogue panel, or the brand spanking new glass cockpits of the future?Personally, I prefer 'ye olde' analogue panels. There's something more about them. They have more... soul. Just like most other things that are analogue, which have been buried by the digital era. There's something about flying in a glass cockpit that doesn't feel like you're flying a flying machine. To me, personally, it feels more like you're programming a computer... that's just my personal opinion. There doesn't feel like there's the same connection between man and machine, and I think that's what we're losing these days. Compare this - http://www.aviatio…

Video's up on Nasa's website (www.nasa.gov)Always amazing to see on TV, although as often as I travel to Florida I have never managed to catch a launch live. I missed one of this year's shuttle launches by just a few days. Now that a launch has put me in the mood, time to fire up the Orbiter Space sim again...Regards,John

I have several products from this company all acceptable until I bought the FSX version of the 777 in late September 2008. I had problems from the start and was in contact with their technical support. However after a couple of weeks it was apparent they could not solve the issues therefore, I asked for a refund (only about a month after purchase, not merchantable quality, would not do what is was supposed to do) but despite paying a $40+ purchase price, they have offered me $10 towards another of their products. Sorry, but this will persuade me not to take up their offer and never purchase from them again. The problems, using Vista operating system, it never flew strai…

One of my best friends is a King Air Pilot and was flying back to home base at FL260 today when BAM this happened. He declared an Emergency and landed looking through a half inch peice of glass. Needless to say I am glad he is alright and am very impressed at his skills.

If the ex Aces team can throw together a really awesome successor to FSX, would you pay $150 for it?. I guess that I would. Reminds me of Flight Unlimited. That was pretty cool if you liked KSFO. To bad I can't fly around there with FSX so I hang out at KMSO and PAJN.jja

A Fuji LM-1 crashed today shortly after takeoff from Athen's Ben Epps Airport killing both men aboard. The plane from 1957 was seen at airshows. Apparently 2 men from Florida were picking it up after buying it and were attempting to fly it home.

Well, I just went to my first airshow on Saturday Oct. 17th over at Edwards AFB in Southern California.Since I had never been to an airshow, I really didn't know what to expect. I thought it was going to be maybe one or two thousand guys sitting next to the runway watching planes do their demos and so forth (thanks to YouTube!). The only that thing that was really disappointing was huge volume of traffic and people. Everything was fine till we exited the 14 freeway and we were on the road that leads to the base. It took us about 2.5 hours to drive 12 miles from the entrance of the base to the runway. A lot of people simply gave up and turned around. I live around 70 miles…

Boeing announced that the first delivery of the 747-8F has been delayed 3 months. It has assumed a $1 billion charge in addition to the $2.5 billion charge announced in August this year."They have so many issues with the 787 that it's taken their eye off the ball elsewhere," said Alex Hamilton from the brokerage Jesup & Lamont.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8293527.stm

I am watching Modern Marvels on the History Channel and tonight's show is about hangars. The very first one they showcase is the largest hangar in the world, the Cargolifter Halle at Brand Germany. That thing is huge.

Has anyone figured out what this really is about? Some kind of a flight tracking program or a dispatch program like FSBuild or what?Apart from the feature list on Avsim front page there's little info on their website unless you register. The forums don't seem that active either.

Selkan in his recent post- "it's all done with mirrors"- had difficulty with resizing pics to meet AVSIM rules. Here's a little routine to do that for any pic or screenshot. No extra software required.Assuming your photo/screenshot is in "My Pictures"-------------Right Click on the pic to be downsized in My Pictures, which brings up a menu-Left Click on Send To which opens another menu-Click on Mail Recipient which opens another menu-On lower left of that menu, Click on "Show more options", then click on Medium or Large (both these sizes are OK to AVSIM)An Email form will open with your photo resized and all set up in the Email attachment line.Drag the Email form sideways …

I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but as I now only use FSX, I thought this would be the best place. The following idea can of course be implemented for FS9 or indeed any other PC based game. The following idea is for those of you who are using a Monitor for 'playing' FSX etc. Dosn't everyone?, well no, I started building my own 737-800 simulator five years ago, and use a short range projector. The projector is only 30 inches from my screen, but the picture is nearly 7'6" square in front of me. I then decided to place Acylic mirrors on either side of the screen, which are set at 90' and run back down either side of the cockpit. The idea of this is to give wrap-…

Hi guys.I have a question. If you want to climb as climb as high as possible, will you be able to get a little higher by flying into the wind? Will the air flow increase around the wings thus delaying the point of stall?I'm mainly thinking about jets.
