Good Evening Everyone,Many of you may know that in early 2009 I was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer referred to as MFH (malignant fibrous histiocytoma). I would like to thank all of you who provided me with support through a very difficult time. I would also like to thank those of you that from time to time touch base with me to see how my fight with this disease is progressing.Since my initial surgery, given the circumstances, things for the most part could not have gone any better and I have been cancer free for about one year. In early March of this year I had a scheduled surveillance CT scan to make sure that nothing unexpected was again growing in my body…

All,I'm running into a little bit of a roadblock (airblock?) in my PPL training - there is limited availability of my 1st choice craft (which I really, really like, and so do you) and good availability of my 2nd choice (which is probably ok.)Question is this: Should I continue training in just 1, and run the risk of long between-flight durations (1-2 weeks) or be a little flexible and use both?My feeling is to use both, if for no other reason than I want to get up there.Any thoughts you have are appreciated-thxAndrew

All users, please be aware,Some of you will have seen a user by the name of "Longyear", who I will state is a personal friend of mine.Longyear has engaged in many discussions and helped other users around here. However, he recently challenged Ron Hamilton's over-running of these forums and has just discovered that he has been BANNED from these forums.Be under no illusion that the message from AVSIM is clear; mess with Ron Hamilton and Eaglesoft and you will be banned.Let's see if this post lasts 5 minutes without further pro-Eaglesoft CENSORSHIP by AVSIM.Once a fine organisation, AVSIM has been sold out.

Question to all of you guys:'What' do you think needs 'fixing' in FSX? what 'features' you consider 'missing'? what would you like to see in the upcoming Flight Simulator Live? (it needs to be things that FSX doesn't have or does wrong or poorly)is it cloud shadows? rain drops in the VC? no alpha fading of autogen? there are evidently features that don't require that you even suggest them.. they are DX11, better multi-core support and multi GPU/SLI support, they will be part of the next version of FS. So, try to be also specific, for example, dont say: Better weather, because that feature is already available if using REX or ASE/ASE/AS6. Imagine a bunch of guys from MS is…

I personally think that whatever happens, nuclear weapons need to stay out of the game, as we all know, North Korea has been experiencing with nuclear bombs lately... I'm pretty sure this doesn't break any rule, but if it does, please delete this post or let me know about it.

Crossed one of the north atlantic track waypoints within 1nm of the position notified. Its a credit to all the developers and the original ACES team that this can happen - thank goodness we are not flying the seats of pants stuff from the 60s and the 70s or before that even.Anyone got any thoughtsJohn

What kind of music do you like to listen to while flying? This is just a question out of curiosity.I listen most to 80s music, Piano music, Jazz, Phil Collins (he recently became his own genre in my world :(), and the Top 40s on the Billboard charts (only rarely though). If I want to be in a relaxed mood such as when in heavy traffic I'll listen to jazz, but if I'm going on a long cruise in my Cessna then break out the 80s road trip music!! I particulary like Phil Collins because his music gets me pumped up, and its feel good, clean music, unlike many songs today.===========================================================Oh by the way, if your looking for a great music we…

Hey guys,I respectfully suggest you all visit this site and get a free health check:https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2Having purchased and used Steve Gibson's excellent 'SpinRite' to thoroughly check my HDs I have the greatest respect for this man's abilities and integrity. I came across ShieldsUP! today and, never having been sure just how secure my Internet connection is, I decided to run his battery of tests. How reassuring it was to be told that as far as Internet Vulnerabilities are concerned, I have been advised that my PC passed every test and that "this machine does not exist on the Internet".Certainly worth doing. The various tests don't take long to complete.…

Just for anyone wondering, Linux looks like it's finally getting it's foot in the door with gaming. As it is now confirmed that Linux is getting access to Steam and at least some of the Valve games titles catalog by the end of the summer. To put this in perspective, Steam is the leading digital distribution platform for PC gaming, and Valve tends to make very popular games such as Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, Left 4 Dead, and the Half Life series of games. It looks like Linux gaming is going to be picking up steam now.Source (read the last paragraph):http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/appl...-goes-live.html
