Just came across this, looks like it may become the way planes pushback and taxi in the future. It said to save time and money, since it only needs APU power.http://avstop.com/ne...rive_system.htm

Hello everybody,I have been thinking lately about the cadet training at airlines. Nowadays its very competitive to be the best and get the job. First off I would like to know the process of applying for an airline. I think it goesapplicationinterview (if application is accepted)trainingfirst jobBut anyway my main concern was how to be the most "senior" applicant of the cadets. I here it goes like the one with the best scores etc gets first choice e.g which routes, which planes etc. Thats what everyone wants including me which I would like to place myself there. What would the best way to achieve that be? My grades are good, I spend my free time learning about flying airli…

Hi.I know there are a lot of real pilots here and hope one or more of you can help. I've just been spending evenings rereading Fate is the Hunter (again) and noticed an expression that slipped by me on previous occasions. In the last chapter he narrowly escapes (another) early end when flying a DC-4 I think, without one elevator hinge-pin. His explanation of the near loss is a little unclear and given as part of a conversation with, presumably, Benny Howard:" 'Unporting is the balance destruction of the elevators by aerodynamic force. I won't confuse you with the theory, but if enough separation between the fixed and the balance portion of your elevators occurs, your aerop…

Do you like to take screenshots ? Are you looking for somewhere to share your shots with others ?Screenshotworld is run just for those of us who like to extend our hobby so that when the aircraft is back in the hangar we can share our shots and meet new people. Being dedicated to this side of the hobby we can provide much more freedom in the size and style of shots that can be posted, we allow any dimensions of pictures and almost 1MB of file size, shots can be unedited, edited or mixed with photographic backgrounds. We also like to teach and show people how to turn the humble screenshot into a picture that you would be proud to hang on your wall. We have a large tutorial…

It's kinda hard to explain, but I'm looking for a list that shows what each country's tail number letter is, for example, in the USA, all aircraft begin with N, like N846T.

This may be a Windows issue, but I can't seem to find an answer, so here goes. When ever I click on a topic and view it, then click on my back arrow to get back to the page I was viewing, I am taken to the top of the page, rather than to the place where the topic appears on the page. Obviously this becomes annoying, particularly when I am well down near the bottom of the page. I have to constantly scroll back down the page to find where I was. Anyone know a fix for this? It happens on all pages of the forum. I am ruining Windows 7, 64b, it that helps.Thanks.

Im currently studying aviation operations, at an aviation academy. In one of my units i need to describe a social and leisure purpose aircraft. Ive picked to do the 757 over the 737, as the 757 is more interesting. In the unit is asks the efficiency of the aircraft. So in todays world, is the 757 still an efficient aircraft. Im talking; is it still profitible for airlines, is it still popular? As it can seat more passengers than a typical NG 737, fly further and faster than a typical NG 737. Therefore would the 757 be more profitable than the 737 (NG) as it peforms as a bigger aircraft, but is used on the same routes as the 737 such as domestic and short haul. I know airl…

Hi gyus, I´ve just installed the Ultrapack 3 for IL-2 1946. It fransforms the good ol´ IL-2 to an jet era game with absolutely stunning grafics. Will show some pic´s late in the screen shots forum.I currently learn to fight with jets in the F-86 Sabre equipped with AIM-9B/D rockets. (Getting the big ones down is now somehow easy!). I´ve heared in variouse movies (Independance Day,...) the saying "Fox one, Fox two,..." before a rocket launch. What does that mean? Any deeper sense on that?

I'm wondering how most of you find real-world aviation events to go to. I'm talking air shows, fly-ins, meets, anything where a person off the street can go visit and see the world of aviation. Are there any decent websites where you can search within a radius of your home using a google map, for example?I'm within an hour of Tulsa and am finding it exceedingly difficult to find anything fun to do since I moved here a couple years ago. So any help would be appreciated in finding aviation events.

A Saitek flight yoke system, Rudders, and all three panelsSo to my question.....To get the best my computer can give to FSX,Do I install both Vista and Windows 7 and dual boot and give FSX the sole use of one system.Or is there a better way for me to set up???Regards to allTrainee Piloy Sonny ipb.global.registerReputation( 'rep_post_2160883', { domLikeStripId: 'like_post_2160883', app: 'forums', type: 'pid', t…

Is there a mininum visibility for landing and takeoff? Today I went spotting with my girlfriend at runway 28L at Munich Airport. Visibility dropped below 100 metres because of the dense fog, There's no possible way the pilots could see the runway at 200 feet.Is this airport cat IIIc certified?
