Hi Do they really allow the public have them? I wonder if the available fcom in the net are pirated, or not. I don't think ones that smartcockpit provides are not the ones used in real ops, correct me please. And if anyone has an estimated price, it'd be very much appreciated. Thanks Have a nice weekend Cheers

I'm considering purchasing Razbam A-7 Corsair volume III. Unfortunately all the reviews Ive found are for volumes I and II. The part that makes me shy is that there (apparently) is no cold and dark cockpit way to start the engine except CTRL-E. Anyone have experience with A-7 Vol III and using the VC to start the engine? Thanks!! Henry

A genuine American war ace who did his greatest fighting 70 years ago over the skies of Darwin has passed away in California at the age of 95. Colonel James Morehead played a crucial role in the defence of Australia, and proved with his courage that formations of the feared AM6 Mitsubishi Zeros and long-range bombers of the Imperial Japanese Navy were not invincible. He ended the war having shot down eight enemy planes, most of them off Darwin, flying in P-40s. These planes, the ones famously painted with shark teeth, were hopelessly outclassed by the faster and in all ways superior Zeros. For his deeds over northern Australia, Jim Morehead was awarded the Distinguishe…

The web sites westcoastatc.com and combatace.com have been down since Mon. May 14. It's a bit unusual, since Erik Thompson is usually right on top of things. Has anyone heard from him, or from anyone else at these organizations? Thanks, Russell Gilbert www.chocolatesoftware.com

It seems to be such a singular phenomenon. Every once in a while you see proudly displayed yet another new flightsim home cockpit. Each one represents a significant expenditure of time, money skill and effort (not to mention the presence of a patient and tolerant spouse!) and speaks of a level of commitment few can ever hope to match. Its amazing, and I suspect many wonder what it would be like to have one. Some, I bet, after a few calculations may even conclude they do have the money to construct such a thing if they really tried. Then, if they are anything like me, they think of the likely reaction of their significant others, and proceed to cringe for the rest of t…

The a/c was having a demonstration flight since some LCCs have placed orders years ago. There are 40-50 people onboard including 2 russians pilot. Most of the passengers are journalists. This is a major blow for us since there used to be so many accidents/incidents occurred the past few years. The authorities said the crash site was somewhere over mount Salak, which is 30-40 Kilometers away from my neighborhood, Bogor, (60 KM downsouth from Jakarta). The weather too has been unfriendly since last month http://www.thejakart...r-mt-salak.html http://en.rian.ru/ru.../173333864.html My thoughts and prayers go out for the crews and passengers and their fa…

I'm listening to ATC control and it's amazing how quick they communicate with each other. Tower gives whole instructions and radio frequencies in very quick speech and pilots repeat very quickly and easily. How do they do it? Is there a technique to learn that? Teo Halfen

I watched with horror the short video clip back in july 1989, when United Flight 232 crash-landed in Sioux City, Iowa. Later I learned about the unparalleled heroism the crew performed, and in combination with luck, fate or God, you name it, a total disaster was avoided. Yes, 111 souls perished, but 184 were saved, thanks to the outstanding heroic efforts of the pilots, crew, and Dennis E. Fitch. https://governor.iowa.gov/2012/05/governor-branstad-issues-statement-on-the-passing-of-dennis-e-fitch/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_E._Fitch Dennis E. Fitch died on May 7th, 2012. Rest in Peace You outstanding, professional, warmhearted…

Ekaterina Solovyeva was fired after laughing at the accident (posted on twitter). She said the jet was not a good one to fly. Of course, she didn't experience it herself nor one of her family members was on the plane. The airline where she used to work for operates 6 SSJ's if Im not mistaken. It is not a proper way to express an opinion, especially there were 8 Russian fatalities onboard. Being sacked treats her just right. http://in.news.yahoo...-054212069.html http://www.dailymail...e.html?ITO=1490

So, on the way home last night, I got off I-87 at Exit 9 in Upstate NY. As I was waiting to turn left onto Hwy 146 West, turning right from Hwy 146 to get on I-87 north was a wide load flatbed truck. On the side of the covered flatbed, was a sign that said "fragile, aviation parts." Next to it was another sign, that said "CRJ-1000." The flat-bed was long, but it didnt seem long enough for a fuselage. My second question, I know of NO WHERE in this part of NY that would be making or even retrofitting a CRJ? Thoughts anyone?

didn't know where else to put this so I'm posting out here. Mods move of you want. Every time I browse avsim forums with my Android phone I get a pop up telling me to buy an Android app called Forum Runner to 'browse the forums easier' I want to petition to have this pop up removed. No matter how many times I hit cancel it always pops up. The app itself is total garbage. I tried the demo and it doesn't log you in correctly, it times out constantly, and unless you PAY for the full version you CANNOT REPLY to threads! I come to avsim for aviation not be hassled with unwanted advertising. Thanks for reading.

I've been reading and participating in a thread about the closure of Megaupload on another website - a rather large fan website dedicated to a certain series of PC strategy games. The thread has grown quite long and is full of people making excuses to justify software piracy, or just plain obfuscating the issue. Myself and another participant have labelled software pirates and "selfish and greedy", and stated we believe the usual laundry list of excuses used to justify piracy are nothing more than a smokescreen for the pirate's desire to obtain something for nothing. I'm rather astonished to find not only are my beliefs in a very small minority, I've actually been attacke…
