This video just came up on Youtube. It is very similar to the recent JetBlue incident. He taxis back and runs the engines up on the chevrons. I thought this wasn't allowed to start on the chevrons but it seems to be standard practice at this airport.

Can anyone help, I'm trying to learn how to do an approach into an airport with a vor off field, with earlier a/c I've flown in fsx it is a simple case of using 2 vor's and setting the obs on each to app & catch the radial on the approach plate using the second vor's obs. Now I have upgraded to the quest kodiak with the g1000, as far ado can see I can only use nav 1 with obs, nav2 has no obs select ability ?. How therefore would I use the nav2 to know when I've reached a selected radial. John.

Hey guys, I realize the PC-12 has no prop lever, only a condition lever set to Ground Idle (1000 RPM) and Flight idle (1700 RPM). The only way I know how to feather the prop is to move the condition lever into Feather/Cut-Off...but than again that cuts off all the fuel to the engine. Is there another way to Feather the prop while the engine is running? Just for safety in case of ground crew nearby or whatever the reason. Hopefully there are a few Pilatus pilots who will be able to answer :) Thanks!

Hi, FSNavNet has fallen victim for the second time since it's inception in January of this year to either a person or person's belonging to an organization hacking into, and wrecking the website. Two weeks ago the website's email system was hacked (as well as my personal email account attached to it) and a bunch of spam emails were sent out to people know using my website email account!! Between the hackers and the hosting companies incompentent handling of the situation, the site has been down for almost a day now and I'm not sure when It'll be back up. For those of you who've tried to access the site and got the default page, I appologize!! Keep checking back b…

Hi guys, I was wondering what the little white arrow that comes up from time to time on the Airbus familes ND displays is. I attached a picture to hopefully make my question clearer I have very little knowledge of most Airbus systems, but I'm guessing it has to do with Top of Climb/Descent? I know we have some very knowledgeable Airbus pilots around here... Thanks for the insight,

Listening to LiveATC.net while I was flying. Didn't hear the type, but they declared a fuel emergency and were trying to make Burbank when Burbank lost radar contact. Someone else eventually said they had been spotted down and emergency services are now enroute. Anyone in the area that can give more details? Edit, here's the story if anyone is interested. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/05/21/small-plane-en-route-to-burbank-airport-crashes-in-glendale/

Having heard news year after year of multiple incidents of single engine prop plane crashes locally in the news, sometimes student flights, and horrible tragedies of whole families and friends in crashes in bad weather usually involving a single prop plane. I'm wondering which is statistically safer to fly if one becomes a private pilot? A single engine prop plane? ex: Cessna 172 Dual prop.? turboprop? ex: Beechcraft, king air Private turbojet? Cessna Citation, Mustang. Gulfstreams, Learjet? I've rarely heard local news accidents and crashes of private jets. I think just once. (A Learjet missed in the dark of a small municipal airport, crashla…

I'm guessing it's for the time it takes to acquire the parts from a supplier, correct? I mean, Southwest has 189 orders for 737-700s and currently it seems they will never get them. One 777 takes about how many days to build? A 737 should be less, right?

I'm in San Francisco California at the moment, most news channels were reporting a lunar eclipse was going to take place yesterday evening but all I saw was a slight decrease in light! Is there anyone else on or near the west coast of America, and what did you see? Regards, Ciaran

XP Sp3 / FS9.1 For financial reasons I can no longer buy FS payware. For the same reason last year I switched from a subscription full-on Security Suite to just paid AV and installed the free Comodo firewall. Now my AV subscription is up and I need to install a free anti-virus. I know from net-searching (reputable online magazines and help-sites) which are the most recommended, but I´d like to know which has the lowest resource-use - which is the one least likely to drain resources away from my fully-loaded FS9. Any experience with this? Any advice? Thanks.
