Hi All, For those who have both AC, would you consider the RealAir Duke V2 an upgrade from the Milvis Baron 55? I bought the Baron a week ago and I'm very impressed. Graphics and FDE are just great. Very fun to hand fly as well. I've heard so many great things about the Duke V2 and would love to have it if there's a noticeable advantage in terms of FDE, graphic, systems, etc......over the Baron. I just don't want to spend $75 ( for both) and have two AC that are pretty much the same in those criteria mentioned. I still have time to swap out the Baron ( F1 wrapper) and for an extra $15 have the Duke V2. All thoughts and experience are welcome of course. Thanks so much. …

LOL...... So, after a recent patch to the Cera Huey, decided to take her up for a run around Brisbane.... fun flight! This is a chopper that really strikes a great balance. The graphics are fantastic, the systems the same, and it's easy to control. But now to the main story..... Nice shot of the pilots after I'd shut down and landed in the grass near the taxiway: But look closely in the background.... and now, this! Now of course someone's going to tell me that that's the Official Facemask of the Huey Privateers... right?

Ok, it might bog down system resources a bit, and it probably isn't a great idea to be blasting Metallica when you are communicating with ATC for a final approach, but I have a feeling there are other simmers out there like me who like to play some tunes in the air. A favorite experience of mine is listening to Neil Young (particularly Psychedelic Pill) while blasting through OZx Death Valley. Just goes together well. Do you guys have any preferred music tracks for flying?

Are we excited, yet? Is anyone else getting that creeping feeling that Flight simming is in a kind of holding pattern? I look around and it all seems so dated! FSX, X-Plane. P3D....... Even with extensive face-lifts its not hard to see these are really (at heart) the same programs we've known,... forever. even the lure of a new plane or scenery is less and less able to lessen the feeling of "Been there, done that." It would be so nice to see something really new in the neighborhood. Before we all start digging out our smoking jackets. :Praying:

After a couple years of hiatus I finally got back into this....This particular model is a vintage. I first saw it when I was about 5 and wanted one ever since. Both launches are shown in slow motion as well. Best viewed in HD on a big screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUI-mAuHj-I Next shots will probably be with more potent sugar/vitamin fuels since Estes engines are pretty much impossible to get here in SA (The 2 in this video are actually older than I am).

Today's Flying Mag E-News reported on the FAA's new digital charts, highlighted at Sun 'n Fun by ForeFlight last week. VFR sectionals are no longer scanned charts but new digitally created charts; resulting in much crisper, clearer data. The IFR charts are also being upgraded and the best part is that the geo-referencing is much more accurate. You can see the results at skyvector.com.

Could the jetson car finally be here? http://edition.cnn.com/2014/04/07/tech/are-flying-cars-finally-becoming-a-reality/index.html?hpt=hp_c6 I hope this becomes a reality in my lifetime; but I am sure it will be a logistical nightmare.

I've always wanted to play this game with failure settings! It is by far the most realistic and good looking mobile flight sim but sometimes I play xplane just to mess with failures! I think this would be a super cool addition for the next update!

I have been boarding pilots that work for one of our regional airlines for a while now. I will offer a free room to these guys (and gals) who are currently employed with the local regional airline and not at the first officer level yet. Reason being is the pay is extremely poor and a lot of the pilots are moved away from home as their FOB moves around. Gives them a chance to not sleep in a van, a good night sleep in a good bed, a quiet place to study with WiFi access. The current guy staying with us is currently working on his checkout for the Dash 8. Been great company this past week and he has been sitting in the jump seat on some pretty awesome routes around New Ze…

The Difference Between Men And Women. This Is Genius. withalittlehelp http://www.tickld.com/funny/t/745777 1 day ago Let's say a guy named Fred is attracted to a woman named Martha. He asks her out to a movie; she accepts; they have a pretty good time. A few nights later he asks her out to dinner, and again they enjoy themselves. They continue to see each other regularly, and after a while neither one of them is seeing anybody else. And then, one evening when they're driving home, a thought occurs to Martha, and, without really thinking, she says it aloud: "Do you realize that, as of tonight, we've been seeing each other for exactly six months?" And then, t…

We have a lot of areas on AVSIM that get lost in the "menu shuffle". So, in the coming days, we are going to start re-arranging things a bit, using some under utilized areas on AVSIM to host menus. The black bar at the top, where your user control panel link is the most prominent. You can anticipate that most of the major features of AVSIM will move up to that area. Once you start to see the changes take place, if you have any questions, you can post them here.

Finally, an explanation emerges. If you want to understand 503's, watch ANGELS & DEMONS starring Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor and Ayelet Zurer, among others. It is all explained therein within the first hour of the movie.

Today was the last day Kermit Weeks' Fantasy Of Flight exhibit in Polk City FL., is open to the General Public. He's planning a new attraction in the future, but no date given. Also he's continuing his event business, and of course his warplane restoration projects. For those that don't know Fantasy of Flight was a aviation museum/attraction mostly vintage warplanes. On my TF-51D Mustang flight one of the maneuvers we performed, was a tree top pass over his airfield to on lookers visiting the attractions, it felt like I was part of an Airshow!! I'm going to miss it!! http://www.fantasyofflight.com/

And I never knew that New Zealand was the first country in the world to implement it The idea was first mooted in 1895. Yet in 2006, Microsoft could not implement it properly in FSX. http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/biographies/3h42/hudson-george-vernon

Took a video of my first time in dads Yak 52 in almost two years as its been down for over a year and a half and I've been at school. My dad is flying in the video but I did some aerobatics earlier and I was pretty rusty but they weren't as bad as my camera work haha. Anyway it was great fun and I can't wait to get checked out in it again.

Hi all, The only GA twin I have is the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche. Eaglesoft did a fine job with this one and I use it often. Was probably ahead of its time when it was released. But, being it's an earlier release, the graphics and perhaps other aspects of this AC are a bit dated by today's standards. It seems to have nice systems modeling and FDE. So I"m looking for an updated GA twin, something that would be a bit of a departure and perhaps a substantial upgrade from the Comanche ( if there is one out there). For those who have the ES Comanche and a more updated GA twin, I'd love to hear from you. For the sake of novelty, looking for a twin that feels different and pe…
