Going into the 6th year of the Flight Simulation Convention at Weston this year - unbelievable! I went last year (on both days) for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I'm going again this year!! Anyone else going? It would be great to put a face to a few names! More info below if you're interested. If you can go I would certainly advise it! Hey guys, Some time ago I was assigned the task to do a presentation on EFIS instrumentation, It's aimed at a lay audience. So you're probably going to know most of what's in here already, but anyway, thought I might share it with you guys: This is the download link from my dropbox, inside you'll find a ".rar" which contains a ".pptx" file and a ".ttf" file, which is a Boeing font that comes in handy and is nice to have. I'd put the Boeing font file onto the Windows Fonts folder so that the text on the Powerpoint looks alright. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49763273/LinkedIn/EFIS%20Project/EFIS%20Project.rar Hope you enjoy it!

After months of struggling to get TapaTalk to work with our IPB based forum, getting not too much in the way of help from TapaTalk and recognizing that this is an issue with larger IPB communities, we have removed TapaTalk until such time that we see improvements in other sites that use it and run IPB. This is a software efficiency issue (TapaTalk's) and we have done all we can to minimize its impact on the AVSIM system. We have given up for the time being. Removing Tapatalk immediately results in decreased response time. As I write this, there are 427 members who use TT, which constitutes less than 0.003% of our members and as much as I would like to satisfy these uses d…

I have been running my older PC for years without upgrade. I noticed MegaScenery Earth was on sale and was thinking of picking up my State. Since receiving my PPL I thought it would be great for preflight FSX flights. My fear is that it will bring my system to a halt. Does anybody have opinions about this product? Does it create a FPS drag on your system Mine Q9400 4 Gig Ram 1 Gig Video My avg FPS with most A/C is 18-20 FPS. thanks for opinion.

Hello My Friends, I wasn't sure exactly where to post this since it fringes on Real World, MS Flight Sim 2004 and MS FSX. Hopefully a moderator will move this if necessary and not just summarily delete it. Over on the VATSIM Network Forums I posted this exact topic, but wanted to touch base with my friends on AVSIM to get their input. Would certainly appreciate your take on the subject. Randy

We just made that announcement. Here is the intent; to give our experienced members in good standing a tool that allows them to help keep the trolls and spammers out of the community. You can still use the report button, but if you think you see a troll in action and other experienced users agree with you, you won't need to wait on us. And, it applies throughout all of the forums, where we might not monitor as frequently as we should. Use it with good intent. If we find it being used for personal agendas and competitive reasons, we'll move very quickly to remove the power to use this from the individuals that are abusing it.

I don't know why but this day seems to have slipped most people by. Today is the British Queen's birthday, she is 88 years old. I know it has nothing to do with flying but I thought to raise it up anyway

Why don't they have it? When are you going to add autopilot to these planes? It would really come in handy if you added it, cause their throttle sliders are such that a very little movement, which is hard to get right even on a 10' screen on a tablet, makes a big difference in speed and that makes it pretty hard to land these planes nice and clean.

http://www.click2houston.com/news/local-2-investigates-inhome-flight-simulators/25294034 VATSIM is mentioned an manuals from PMDG are shown. Of course, this being the media, its sensationalized and comments made by the simmer were probably taken totally out of context.

Can someone tell me how I stop Windows trying to install the same updates every time that I shut down the computer? Two of them are IE10 and IE11, both of which never end up being installed. Surely there must be a way for me to dump them into the nearest passing black hole, so that I never have to see their sorry asses again?
