After several years of publicizing this, you would think someone would have to live in a remote cave to not know you can't point lasers at aircraft. I seems like this comes up every few days somewhere. http://baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/news/article.html/content/news/articles/ap/2014/06/20/Pilot_reports_laser_strike_during_landing_at_LAX.html

I was playing FSX for 1 one month with only mouse ,but then i decided i should get a joystick . But because i am still in school and don't have any source of money i couldn't afford any of the newer joysticks. So i built one by myself ! :D It's made out of building kit for small kids (I was playing with it when i was young) :D .Then i put my phone in it, installed Monect Portable (i really recommend this one ) and it was complete ! :D (actually took me like 3 days) Here are photos of it :D Tell me what you think :D

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/06/16/atlanta-airport-joke-diverts-landing/10571243/ One thing that's weird about this article is how they say that the airplane was a Boeing 777, their videos show MD-80s, but the real airplane used in this route is actually an A330.

With SimBrief and PFPX becoming quite popular as flight planning tools, I was wondering when the crews receive their dispatch releases. Is it when they start their day, or are they done within an hour before flight.

I haven't seen a word about Flight sim at all, and I just waded through the E3 website, not a peep about anyone picking up MS FS... has anyone heard anything or was it just another internet rumor?

To anyone interested there is some interesting articles in USA TODAY about GA safety. It talks of helicopter fuel tanks exploding after hard landings, PA caberator defects and cessna 172 pilot seat racks failing causing accidents. Seems aircraft like car manufacters some times decide it's cheeper to pay for fatalities then recalls. Interesting read.

Sorry, but I have to post this just because of all the naysayers who claimed for the 787 should be grounded after the ET ELT incident. Now we can now step back, examine the facts, remove emotion and determine that it was never a 787 issue to begin with. http://seattletimes.com/html/busines...hnology/2023871038_787firexml.html In short, it was a Honeywell issue that could have happened to any airframe and happened to occur on the ET 787 (which has now been repaired and is flying again, another thing the naysayers said couldn't happen)

Interesting article from a Pilot's perspective. What blows me away is 13 minutes to 41,000 feet on a 14 hour 6,500 mile flight! Good article that really highlights the 787 as a game changer... http://www.thestreet.com/story/12745904/1/united-pilots-we-flew-to-chengdu-on-a-boeing-787-and-loved-it.html

I have just purchased Night Environment, (Aerosoft) from Just Flight. All I can say is wow! I purchased this beautiful night lighting scenery for just £6.99 with 400 rewards, usual price £10.99. This scenery is awesome, it looks real and lights extend right out to the horizon! The effect is amazing! Taking off from Stansted towards London is quite an experience, you can definately navigate by roads in the dark, I could not do that before. I am using ORBX sceneries for the UK, this add-on adds an incredible extra dimension to the ORBX scenery. The lights remain on during day time and are not visible. Ideally you turn the lights off by using a tool to…

Is anyone else experiencing "issues" with the Earth Simulations forum? I don't seem to be able to access any of the forum sections at the moment. If I left click on "Earth Simulations Discussion" (for example), I am just returned to the same page. In addition, when I left clicked on one of the PMs that I sent to Darren, I was taken to my purchase page! This is happening on my work PC and my home PC, so it is not a PC specific issue. These use Windows Vista 64bit and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit respectively.

I own both of these aircraft and I'm amazed that they operate quite differently. My biggest bug bear is with the throttle controls. Power response in X-Plane although delayed, isn't anywhere near as bad as it is in P3D. In P3D it's almost like you're driving and old steam tanker. You ask for power. Then a chap in the engine room hears the tinkling of the power bell and gives the engine more coal and opens the taps. I know there's delay in turbo props, but it seems overly pronounced in the C90B - of course I have no experience of the real thing! Additionally, in P3D, the feather controls seem to do little to nothing until the power levers are adjusted. In X-Pla…

Yesterday was an uneventful Sunday evening for me. It was a picture perfect day with clear blue skies, and I was on my way to the local Kohls to pick up a Father's Day gift, on Rt3 in West Chester PA (my hometown airport is KPHL) Out of the corner of my eye I observe what looked like a KC-135 or a DC-8 in a tight bank, flying low and slow, with massive contrails forming. Very unusual for the altitude it was at, my first thought was that it was involved in an airshow performance. Then it occurred to me, I may be witnessing a fuel jettison operation! I missed the chance to snap a shot on my cellphone camera, but I suspected it would return, so I pulled into the…

Hi! We have a few reports of a bug in which the diver controls (e.g. moving forward, moving backward, show camera) fail to function. We have verified the problem and are working on a fix. In the meantime, if you experience this problem, you can reset the game (and the controls) by following these steps: For Windows: Exit the game. Go to this folder, depending on your build: Windows Desktop: C:\Users\<YourLoginNameOnYourMachine>\AppData\LocalLow\Cascade Game Foundry\InfiniteScuba Windows Metro: C:\Users\<YourLoginNameOnYourMachine>\AppData\Local\Packages\CascadeGameFoundry.InfiniteScuba_fn7n90zx2bqzj\LocalState Delete the PlayerState.xml file. Resta…
