I am an airline professional (15000 hrs B757/A320/B747-400) not a flight sim person. I'm involved in air safety work and currently concerned with an accident still under investigation. I need to contact someone who could assemble a number of short video sequences (300ft to touchdown) showing possible visual cues (lights) sequences with a number of different weather conditions. Can anyone on this forum point me in the right direction? Thanks Steve

Hi, I was wondering whether or not it is allowable to use a CLB thrust greater than Takeoff thrust during NADP 1 or 2, on the B737, since if you, for example, derate the TO thrust a lot, and then select normal CLB instead of CLB-1/-2, it will most probably increase from the TO thrust? Because if you read what is stated as required for those procedures they require you to reduce to CLB thrust at 800ft or higher, and if CLB thrust is higher than TO thrust, can it really be considered as a usuable CLB thrust during a NADP?

Hello, If there's a speed stated at a ILS charts, for example: "MNM 160KT until D4", should I always fly that speed no matter if ATC tells me or not? I've also got to scenarios: 1) Let's say we're cleared on a normal ILS approach with no stated speed restriction by ATC, do I still need to fly minimum 160kts until 4 dme, or is it only valid if ATC told me "ABC123 speed 160kts until 4 dme"? 2) If ATC, during the vectoring into the ILS, gave me a couple of speed restriction, let's say, 210kts, and then i get cleared for the approach, do I still fly 210kts until they tell me otherwise (or i ask them), or do i reduce by myself to 160kts since it's stated in…

Hi all, A bit of a random question (and I apologize if I did not select the appropriate forum for this), but I thought someone might know of a product I'm trying to find... My wife and I are working towards closing on our first home. This house has a finished basement (sweet!) with a sump pump. Based on the recent inspection we had done, it doesn't look like they've had any issues with flooding in the last 6 years and we are not in a flood zone, but I'm still concerned about the potential for water entering the basement. Parts of the town we live in can sometimes have problems with drainage when it rains very heavily. So basically, I'm looking to see if there's a…

Hi folks: One of my A/V licenses (on my laptop) is about to expire (in about 1 month) and want to hear your opinions about the best A/Vs out there to protect our flightsim computers and, at the same time, being not so rude or aggressive in detecting files that are not really viruses or malware, or taking to much attention from you as user, but that run as smoothly as possible in the background instead. It's also important that it would not affect the performance of your machine. Please suggestions?. Anxious to hear them!. Thanks, Ed

As anyone that has visited the site today realizes, there has been a major change in the GUI and the forums. This is the result of a complete upgrade of the forum software and the Admins are still trying to get it tuned. There are hiccups and there might be some for a little while, but all will be good soon. Believe it or not, soon you will get used to the new interface and all will be fine. Please bear with Avsim. The people involved are doing everything they can to get the site working smoothly and error free. Thank You.
