just read on the SOH forum that the guys have used mega scenery and added Carenado and Alabeo Cessna's aircraft to FSW ,seemed like they maybe need a bit of tweaking, has any one here tried adding the cant be used 32 bit add ons,I thought anything 32 bit would not work? with a 64 bit sim! well you live and learn don't you,i must say it is great to see people really trying out and experimenting with FSW instead of knocking it! which will simply get us nowhere Peter

The answer is clearly YES. I am not used to write reviews in English and this is not my aim. But after a first negative try, I decided to reinstall BM and test it again and I am so impressed by this addon now than I wish to share my excitement. I am used to FS and I have very much appreciated UTX night lighting a decade ago, as well as Orbx lights, later. BM is way much powerful and renders night lighting like nothing seen before. This is real world navigation and complete road network. You can almost use BM for real world navigation training. Not repetitive cartoon textures but reality! And it is amazing to see the night environment from the cockpit, since…

Hi Everyone, My flightdeck photos may have been hard to see the roads so here are some overhead shots taken at noon. I went to Florida, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago. If you have an area you'd like to see... Give me ICAO and I'll see what I can do.

We also have fun at these event's. Yeah it's stupid stuff, but besides reporting bug's and issue's, and making and flying mission's. This is what we enjoy doing as a group. Ice Cream Cone incident at the 12:30 mark :)

...just took a three hour night flight...and well...this sim grows all around you. The star-filled night, the night breaking into dawn...as I flew down the coast of the St. Lawrence, towards Prince Edward Island, and then onto Nova Scotia. There is a 'mood' to this sim....a feeling of 'texture' as you are enveloped in it. The night environment, (with TrueSky) is so unlike both P3D and FSX...for one thing, the night sky has a true star canopy above you...there is even the Milky way...which brings home such a feeling of real life environment. The highways and feeder streets, are fully lit, no texture popping, the street lights come into view, as they would in rea…

We could be realistic here, cause we know certain thing's are not going to be the first DLC available. But what the heck, list it anyway ( I think it's some jet's from a certain company, what is their name? ) Heck, this is your dream DLC, go ahead and list it! Just because I think it might be possible.Maybe not the first, but not long after DLC becomes available 1 - A float plane! 2 - A regional jet, hopefully a CRJ of some sort! But I doubt it! 3 - PT-17 Stearman

FSW has the best snowstorm depiction, I have ever seen in a flight simulator. It is so real looking, that you actually can 'feel' the intense cold outside the cockpit. That snow is driven...and what an absolute BLAST was it to even try to see the runway threshold on final. The entire flight was with a sense of tension, and repressed dread! I've seen nothing of its kind, in any other flight simulator from 1984 on....nothing of its kind. What a blast! Oh...and I got down safely....and started breathing again, once upon the runway. This ROCKS! Ses

In latest installment of FSW, A.I. pilots are contacting ATC and reporting their current altitude as "...three,500," rather than; "three thousand, 500 feet". The word 'thousand' is missing in the communication. FYI.

Since it seems like a regular procedure on longer flights that inner tanks feed all engines until quantity on all four wing tanks become equal, why does it lack some kind of auto mode that might be armed to switch off override tanks at the required condition with a ping/notification on ecas? The pilots are always there to do this but since there are many other things that are handled by automation why leave this to be done only manually?

So I finally bought FSW this evening and whilst I agree it needs tons of improvement and work to be done, for the first time ever in a simulator I can honestly say I felt like I was flying above real clouds. I was running the sim in 4K and over the Colorado Rockies and was blown away by the lighting of the clouds and the level volume they had. Pretty awesome stuff if DTG can continue to quickly build on it. Here is what I witnessed...(ignore the terrible landing...I just wanted to show the graphics and turn off 4K recording to save my disk space so ended the flight as quick as possible with an insane landing :))

Here is a very interesting and entertaining blog by a retired Airforce pilot, and current cargo pilot: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/8/8/1685667/-Know-your-airliners#comment_67385058 The comments are likewise entertaining, mostly being anecdotes of personal experiences on various aircraft.

Hi folks, I never give up! After asking for a refund and uninstalling BM because of several issues with Orbx products compatibility I thought that I never tried to let all settings as they are by default (everything enabled in FTX Central for Vector and LC and without ticking the 3rd party box in BM) in a "clean" region, I mean out of ORBX NA, England, Germany fat regions. So I decided to jump in again and re-purchased BM base + vector (yes, yes Chris! :-). When using BM in NA I had 2 issues, for those who remember: not seeing any night improvement + roads mismatch in day time. These issues don't appear at all outside Orbx regions and I must say that I am …

Hi- I recently found out that BlackMarble doesn't work with photoscenery. That's worked out in that flying in darkness, I just disable the PS. Now, if I want to install Night Environment and use that with PS, do I disable BM? Or do they cooperate? Thanks, Mark

It’s time to fill in our folders, with the addition of trueSKY heralding the induction of our advanced weather engine. The advanced weather options are accessible via a toggle in the DISPLAY section of the settings menu. That’s not all though, there are a couple of follow ups to our Cold / Dark update from last week, so read on for the full change log: trueSKY Introduction of trueSKY-based advanced weather engine. Weather themes represented in trueSKY are denoted by the “advanced” label in the weather selection menu. These themes will only be available when advanced weather is activated. You can toggle this setting on and off under the DISPLAY section in the S…
