I have just come across a YouTube video describing how to download FlyTampa Amsterdam Schiphol for FREE. I then noticed that there were more videos with FREE download instructions for other payware addons (eg. the PMDG 747-400 QOTSII). Do the owners of YouTube need users to report videos of this kind to get them removed? Blatant disregard for someone else's intellectual property on a public site like YouTube is unacceptable.

I flew from Alice Springs to Uluru and did not like the ground texture much. It looked like there were rivers in the desert in some places. So I installed TEP. Textures did improve a lot but the rock itself looked like it was surrounded by a moat of water! So I reinstalled FSX and added my Orbx Australia sceneries to it. I then changed my scenery.cfg in FSW to point to my Orbx Australia base scenery and now the terrain looks right. What was water has transformed into salt pans and scrub. Surprisingly to me anyway, adding more entries in scenery.cfg pointing to my Orbx airports causes CTD! Not sure why. I am making sure that the scenery.cfg in both the steam FSW and Appd…

Given the higher price, is the Flight1's ATC Pro offers that much better realism compared to Global ATC Simulator? I'm aware that Flight1's offering only comes with a handful of airports vs the other offering. Is the different in realism worth it for its much higher price? Thank you.

Hello, I have noticed some discrepancies between the magnetic variation indicated on the sectional charts and the FAA A/ FD pages: Let's take KBPI as an example: sectional: mag VAR 11.25 E (current) FAA FA/D: mag VAR 16 E (valid august october 2017) it makes a 4.75 ° difference which is huge which one is correct ? Why is there a difference between two valid documents? THX

For a program where I can add parked aircraft to my perfectly modelled local GA airport. Aircraft with real paint jobs and registration numbers. I would also like to be able to pick one and do a cold and dark start up with it and then go flying over my identifiable house. I would also like to hear local birds chirping and hear the railway bells as the flashing crossing gates go down and see a train pull into the station. Maybe even see the Ghan train go through on its long way up to Darwin, or the Indian Pacific on the way to Perth. ..... ahhhh dream on. What are your FSW wishes guys?

I am confused about what the purpose and application of stickies in this forum are. At the very top, for the last couple of months, I have seen a single moderators feedback (which seem to be corrected a few patches ago), as the first thing that greets users of FSW. I haven't seen this in other forums, is there a reason that their feedback is prioritized and that their personal feedback need to be considered the most important part of this forum? Other users have called attention to it but they remain. I would suggest we keep the most broadly helpful, relevant, and urgent posts as stickies, and do away with the disorganized appearance that currently exists…

a younger person on the FSW Break Discord server that is flying FSW in multiplayer. He is asking all sorts of questions. Wish I knew how to answer half of them. I've helped him all I can. Things like keyboard commands which some can rattle off the top of their head. He is so inquisitive. Hate to see a young simmer that seems so interested just give up because he can't get all the answers. Regardless of what we think, Steam is the new outlet. It's where all the younger people go. Same with Discord. Just hope that some of the older simmers can join the server. You can just chat or text. Some of us talk, some don't. You don't have to get involved. Others are asking about ad…

Hello Simmers I am an old (too old now) Fsx user who recently bought FSW thru the current steam sale out of curiosity. Hoping I could add to the aircraft list a bit with my Fsx addons I read in several places that these could be transferred with various success. I have tried so far: Carenado 337, the default Beaver FSX without success! They don't even show on the FSW aircraft list at all? I have placed the gauges, effects, etc. and added the additional lines in the aircraft cfg for each livery and the lines placed at the end in the tutorial. I have installed some photo scenery successfully except for 'earth simulations'. But I really wanted to …

http://whnt.com/2017/08/29/recordings-reveal-harrowing-moments-before-plane-makes-a-hard-landing-in-madison-county/ This link is to an interesting video of a panicky conversation with ATC around the area that I live. The pilot came from Philadelphia, planning on landing at KHSV - Huntsville-Carl T. Jones Intl', but ran a little short on fuel, so had to settle for the outskirts, just north of Huntsville, AL. Amazingly, the pilot successfully landed the aircraft on Harvest Rd. and came out of it unhurt...well, maybe except for his feelings and his aircraft. Also, I'm sure he will have an in-depth conversation with the FAA. The aircraft is N7500P (196…

I was forced to replace my old desktop with a new one. My new rig is from MSI, 3.6 GHZ, 8 GB ram, 1060 GTX GPU. I ran the Valley Benchmark and received 70 fps, almost triple the fps from my old system. I'd like to know which sim to get? I am leaning towards XP-11 now but P3dV4 is also of interest. One thing I did not like about Xp was the user interface. I prefer FSX style keyboard commands, old habit I guess. But XP11 looks nice graphically, a little more realistic than FSX. Any thoughts about these sims? FSW looks to gamey to me, no third party support, too early in its development. Simming is my main computer hobby. I would also consider FSX …

Just wondering, is anyone using Black Marble Vector with Ultimate Terrain X ? Does it work together or would I have to deactivate most of UTX ? I just have Black Marble Base for now and deactivated UTX Lights. I have also FTX Global, but I guess that won`t interfere. Mike

I've flown a lot both trans continent (North America) and Transatlantic. A couple of my favorite flight routes are from Phoenix to Orlando, followed by San Francisco to Reno. I like the variety of scenery changes on those routes. Transatlantic routes not so much because of the over ocean segments, although when I flew home from London to Phoenix in June I spied Hudson Bay, still packed with ice even in the early summer. SFO to Reno is a fun route because you transition from ocean to farmland to alpine scenery in a very short time. Also fun is Phoenix north to Salt Lake city because you fly directly over the grand canyon at FL350, pretty breathtaking. In Europe m…

Ok, what I was really hoping for was an MD-11 updated for P3D, but this is exciting (and surprising) news nonetheless: It's the Maddog updated for P3D v4! Updated modeling in the VC from the shots. Looks amazing -- the problem with this one was always that the wonderful systems depth was let down by frankly ancient-looking modeling and textures in the cockpit that sucked all the immersion out. This looks like a huge step forward. James

I am trying to find a WWII deuce and a half *steerable* truck download. I don't remember if it was for FS2004 or FSX. You could hear the motor revving up and when changing gears. Does anyone remember this download? Was kinda fun to play with. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Many of us travel, we fly at least once a year. I just got back from a transatlantic trip, Phoenix-London-Phoenix a little over two months ago. As a lover of aviation I have always tried to get a window seat, usually away from the wing so I can see out as I fly. This goes back fifty years, to my first flights in California. But on this last trip I longed for an aisle seat, the flight was so long I wanted to stretch my legs, but the passenger next to me was uncooperative and did not want to move. What do fliers here prefer, a window or an aisle seat? Or have you become so used to simming that it really doesn't matter since you know what is down there? :) …

For those who have Black Marble for night lighting (global) in p3dv4 (or v3 as well).. i'm curious what is the difference between the base package and vector package.. wouldn't you need both to get decent looking night coverage. Anyone happen to have comparisons between this and say FTX/OPENLC/Region night lighting or even UTX USA lighting? (i posted a comparison between Night Environment and UTX, i opted for NE) Any major differences in fps/performance using this? At around $100 for the two packages (slightly steep for me right now), i'm hoping for good things/info before pulling the trigger on this Thanks in advance for any info

Hi, So, I recently went and bought some modern USAF Flight Jackets (CWU-36/P and a CWU-45/P) to wear while flying and out and about during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. I also felt compelled to try to make patches that looked good with the flight jacket for my private pilot training. I'm looking for feedback from the community to see if you would tell me what you would want in custom patches if you were to design patches for a flight jacket and to let me know what you think of the ones I have created. I also have posted a picture of the patches modeled on a CWU-45/P picture. See below and let me know what you think. If it were popular enough, I have to make an …

I've experimented with several scenery add-ons and found that they all work, even some which I didn't expect to did! So now it's time to restore FSW to default so that I can give honest and accurate feedback on Dovetail's future updates. I've done this by opening my Steam account and navigating to my Flight Sim World\Properties tab, then selecting "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES..." as shown below: No add-on files were deleted! Only the Scenery.CFG, terrain.cfg, and the default aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files have been overwritten, and I have my modded cfg's backed up anyway. My FSX AI files are all intact and still working. I think this is very gener…

It is very odd. I can't remember a time where so many civilian flightsims were available. FSX, P3D, Aerofly FS 2, FSW, and FlyInside has announced yet another. It is amazing. But what is even more amazing is that none of those sims offer the 'complete package'. And that I am becoming more and more negative about flightsimming. Flightsimming has been my main 'computer hobby' for quite a few years now but I am losing interest, also because none of the sims offer everything I want in one package. Every sim has its shortcomings. And it seems to take longer and longer before the things I want will get added. If ever. I notice I am flying less often and if I do fly I often quit…

I am interested in this product. I have used Remote CDU in the past, but wanted to get some opinions about VA'S CDU. I couldn't find any response in their forum, so I am asking here. Does anyone have experienced with this product and can tell me if its worth the $22 compared to Remote CDU. Which one is better overall, what are some key features of it, and do you think it's worth its price. With their lack of customer contact in their forum, I am kind of afraid of purchasing this with no support available. I'm interested in P3D v4 compatibility.
