I am flying with Pro-ATCX and its requesting me to descend down to 26000 feet... My plane currently in LNAN/VNAV mode... I dial the requested altitude 26000 in the MCP and push the button in, but the plane doesn't descend at all. Am I suppose to hit FLCH instead? I'm confused. I remember doing it how I normally do and thats to dial my desired altitude and push the button and the plane will start descending, but this time it didn't at all and I'm not sure why.

Just came across this memory upgrade, has anyone here used it for simming? I don't think I need it, I am happy with my performance. Didn't know what forum to post this in since it covers a lot of the future of computing. Anything Intel comes out with is interesting. Such advancements might make weather more realistic in our hobby. John

So this year Remex software are unveiling a new sim platform at the flight sim show at raf Cosford on Oct 7th. They are first on at 10am and to be honest I had never heard of them before. I've been thinking about what a new sim needs to bring as we have the established ones plus the early access ones (FSW and aerofly FS2) showing great promise. So I decided to do a bit of research and it turns out that they are a small (very!) UK based software dev with lots of experience in games development and apparently real time simulation solutions for gaming, aerospace and racing sectors. Have a look at the video below and see what you think. Google remix software and uFS and …

Thank You Lockheed Martin for what you have done to revitalize our sim! Thank You Pmdg for giving me the most realistic transport category aircraft Ever! Thanks to all the scenery builders who have provided a place to fly to. Thank You Oculus for your contribution. Thank you Avsim for having a resource that enables me to put it all together. Thank you everyone else who pushed our hobby into the future. That is all. Sometimes it’s good to look around and appreciate where we are.

Quote from Andrew at FSL: "Naturally, given the complexity of the A320-X, our focus going forward is on P3Dv4 and FSW at this time - as these platforms allow us to implement new and exciting features into our product lines.

Hi. So i've decided to get another one in the hangar. I already own the Comanche and the C182 from A2A, but i think the steering is a little bit too sensitive? Like i barely touch the yoke and it changes direction. Iam now looking for a plane that is not that sensitive. Im thinking about the following planes: *Just Flight Arrow III *Just Flight Warrior II *A2A Cherokee 180 *MilViz 310R What do you guys think i should go for?

Just wanted to share that Saitek Panels are now officially supported in Flight Sim World. You'll need to grab a driver download, but can do that here: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/flight-sim-autopilot-multipanel/downloads Happy Flying!

Not quite sure where to put this question as it covers multiple topics... If I am editing / updating airports in FSX, and wanted to add real world scenery (such as FSEarthtiles) & mesh, would it be better to do the real world scenery & mesh prior to editing / updating the airports so the overlay doesn't mess things up? Or does it not matter?

I haven't seen 787's around Phoenix Sky Harbor, I am wondering if anyone here has flown in one? Is the ride better than other jets as they claim? I've heard the cabin is pressurized to 6000 feet and humidity is added for flights. If I want to fly on one, what routes might operate out of Sky Harbor? I'd like to fly on one when I take my next vacation. But I don't know which domestic routes, if any, they are used on. I have seen the 787 when I flew out of Heathrow in June, had a very unique nose in it's British Airways livery. I wanted to jump from my 747 over to the 787 just for the experience. John

Flying into Runway 10 (via RNAV) through the STAR ULUBA. Unlike other airports where the STAR gets you in position for an approach, ULUBA setup to take you right to the airport (last fix in the STAR setup is PJM). Is this the way it is supposed to be? Other airports just put you in the area to catch the approach in. I almost got caught with the bad approach, but corrected it while descenting. I thought PJM was just the last fix prior to the airport, not at the airport itself. :-\

Simming on my old system grew rather stale. Some add-ons, especially Carenado's jets, choked my framerates. I loved flying fast and high in the flight levels but my stock aircraft weren't immersive enough. Since getting my new system a few weeks ago I have rediscovered my passion for simming, outside of the web my main use for my computer. Flight after flight I have enjoyed P3d and Xp11, switching back and forth between the sims depending on what I want to do. I am in love with XP11's stock landclass and mesh, very real in tandem with some excellent default aircraft. P3d's handling of photoreal scenery is outstanding, and it's fluid high framerates on a mid range sy…

It's an exciting update this week, with changes to some niggling issues that have been around for a while now. Force Feedback One of the larger ones is re-enabling force feedback. Which we initially disabled due to some users reporting issues where peripherals were causing crashes. This was due to legacy drivers conflicting with OS updates, and is unfortunately outside of our control. Force feedback will be disabled upon start-up (to avoid incompatible joysticks from ending up in a start-up crash loop). So it will need to be re-enabled when you start FSW. If you're using force feedback and experience a crash to desktop, then please send a DxDiag and the name o…

Given where we are now, with photoreal scenery, immersive aircraft, does anyone have a vision for the future of flight simulation? Have we reached the end of what we can do or are there still milestones to be conquered? My estimate is clouds and weather, more of a 3d effect as in real life. It's fair now but I know it can be enhanced. Next, ground handling in crosswinds, in all sims too much rudder is required on the ground to compensate. In real life crosswinds are a distraction corrected with a light touch of rudder on the ground, but in the sims they are way too strong and make for unrealistic takeoffs and landings. I think if those two things can be tackled i…

Just installed Update 12 but I'm still not getting force feedback. I have Haptic\FFB enabled in FSW but all that happens is that the centring spring force (which was there prior to Update 12) disappears but there are none of the normal feedback forces. I'm using an MS FFB 2 joystick with Windows 10, 64 bit (fully updated) and no additional drivers for the joystick. The joystick is confirmed working in FSX. Anyone getting force feedback now?

All, Over the years I have bought too many airport sceneries. Reinstalling them all is always a major pain, as well as keeping up to avoid OOM etc. So I would like to just narrow down to a few reliable developers and throw out the rest. Here is my list of good ones: FSDT, FB, Fly Tampa, PacSim, 29 Palms, "ORBX" (in quote because many ORBX airports are resource hogs, but their regions are good). Questionable: Taxi2Gate, LatinVFR, Drzewiecki Design, Aerosoft, SimAddons, my experience with these developers are so so performance, and most are resource hogs. Any of these will be thrown out and not reinstalled What are your thoughts?
